Brrrry, blurry, and wish I was furry.::laugh

We had a mist hitting the wind shield and I think sleet was in it. A deep bone cillin' wet cold today.

Had to buy some huge plastic tubs at Home Depot for the Christmas Decorations. The HELP is coming tomorrow and perhaps it will all fit and be carted to the garage. That's going to be the biggy...where it can be placed. Duh!!!!!

I am enjoying watching the lights twinkle one last time this year.

BUB...I am sympathetic for you. I am still nursing the one I've had for over ten days now. They are NO fun. My doctor told me to take a 1000 mg C supplement daily. Then Bear mentioned he was taking 3x's as many..... Fresh squeezed orange juice is helpful also.
TOE, I am about 80 miles east and the climate is not any too warm. Another morning of freezing temperature. After today, warmer but no sunshine for about a week.
Clouds and rain....duh.

FYI Won't take NyQuil. My husband got pneumonia and I got bronchitis from taking that stuff.

True, we slept good, 'til one night he couldn't breathe and I had him standing on his head while I beat on his back to loosen the mucus.

Yes, that is why I do not take it. It is more dangerous mixed when you are on BP meds or other medications.
At bed time, I have a cup of decaf hot tea with 2 or 3 tsp of honey. That helps me sleep and relax. At night I use Chamomile tea. Enchinacia hot tea is impossible to find here any more but is the best for me.

Time for more coffee.....
This damp cold is pentrating this morning making it difficult to crawl out of the warm bed.

Cheez Louise, There was an explosion here a few minutes ago that rocked the trailer and nobody seems to know anything about it.

I put on a pot of coffee here, just in case...

You responded in another thread that it was a refinery that exploded. What do they refine? Could be one nasty situation for sure. I worked in a paint factory and so many of our liquids were flammable so in weather like this when the humidity dropped the static increased, thus more potential for flash off and explosion from the spark. Sounds like what may have happened today.

Anyone see the car pileup where one truck was full of fireworks?

It's an oil refinery and at the moment, it's contained but not under control. Not a good thing.

That's a shame and certainly hope that no people were injured. But...guess this will cause the gas prices to increase.

:hi:: Been a busy busy day. Lots accomplished but still more to do.
Glutzzy today.....dropped a pint of honey on the ceramic tiled kitchen floor and what a sticky mess!!!! It had the cone in it and was packed in my hometown...one of my gifts from my sister. I cried!!!crying::
Dropped a lovely Christmas ball...it shattered...another mess.... Picked up a large stainless steel boiler to put away and shocked my hand from the static electricity. Touched a door knob and shocked again.

Today SUCKED!!! .....
......

I need to go take a shower but hell, I fear I will be shocked at the same
time water hit me and drown nekked in the tub.

No grouch today, YET. There's always time left to change any given situation, right?

Clouding up outside and forcast says later will have a freezing rain mixture with temps for a high today of 35. Perfect for it. Hope they are right when they say light percipitation. Trees in my yard can't stand many more ice storms as we had last year.

Waiting to see when I -25 South will reopen from a fatal accident this morning - it is the route for us from Colorado Springs south into New Mexico. Vehicle crossed median and slammed into the rear of a tanker southbound, dumping diesel fuel ( load). Not wanting to move till I am sure it's open with the limited vis here.

Actually, this was a regroup day, get the other trailer loaded, groceries bought and into the cooler, etc. Tentative plan is departure in the morning - will be a slow go till we get out of the fog - vis here at the moment less than an eighth of a mile.

I do not want a large house.
Several are trying to sale me the idea of a log cabin. That maybe a little rustic for me since the dark interior is not my cup of tea. I want to see outside with plenty of glass and light airy colors.
Either way....I have a ton of work ahead of me and low stamina. ..... ....BUTT....I have a dream...a goal...and excited.

Shar....they sell magazines full of house plans or maybe try the library.

I always thought an A-Frame with the front full of windows and a balcony might be nice.

Hey...have you seen those Mini houses?

You must have a window seat preferably upstairs so you can see far and wide........(we will put in a stair lift)

The best way to start is to stop buying "stuff"! Then start going through one area of your home at a time. Get rid of all the stuff in that one area and move on to the next. Hopefully you won't find too much "stuff" that you can't live without

Shar, you are right about the log cabin homes. Most have those tall ceilings with balcony's and they come with their own problems. Can't get to the ceiling for easy cleaning, etc. Then the space is so open it pushes the heating/cooling units to the max. Beautiful to rent for a weekend somewhere but to deal with it on a daily basis is a major hassle.

Also, around here log cabins are frowned upon by the homeowners insurance. They are less fire proof than most homes and also if the person building it doesn't do it to perfect specks the logs can shift, not fit together well, and cause major problems. Also, the wood bees love them then the woodpeckers move in and destroy the logs. May not be problems in other areas but those are some that people around here deal with.

You will settle on a plan that perfectly suits you and it will be a dream house. Good luck. I've been there, done that and building is not something I wish to do again. Takes more guts than I found that I have.

No stairs, no lofts and absolutely no logs. Thanks Sankie....Never thought about the varmits in the logs except termites. Carpenter bees riddled an all cedar picnic bench with large holes on the underside.

It isn't warming up here. Still 38° ans gray. Frankly I would not be surprised to see snow. Brrrrr....and Gulfport is suppose to be in the 60's. Philadelphia, MS is north of Meridian and always colder.

In Holbrook AZ with few problems! Ration Pass - the border between Colorado and New Mexico (7300 feet) a bit dicey with ice fog turning to snow on the way down. Petrified wood on the agenda tomorrow, then on into the greater Phoenix area thru Friday.

Good gosh....you are in the type of air that is hard to breath.
HOPE you keep plenty of warm beverages to keep you warm.
How is Diane holding up? Hello to her.
It is a chilly 29* here this morning and fog. Hope it warms up by noon to head into the woods with my long time school friend on the clearing of my land. Holding my breath on the cost estimate....

Good morning to all.

Good luck with any freeway traffic in the Greater Phoenix area, I always found it a white nukkel time. As with some of the outer off roads in the mountains are a bit hair bending to.

Yep and the snow birds are there now so the roads will be extra busy. Couldn't go down the highway without seeing an accident every day when I lived there this time of year.

Holbrook AZ....been there hundreds of times but never got to stop and pick up rocks. I was withe my Dad who only stopped to fill up with gas and buy us stale candy bars.

Really like the desert....my Mother used to subscribe to a magazine called "The Desert" and since I read anything that passed my nose I read it from cover to cover.

Maybe she subscribed to it because of wanting to see more than the bathroom of a gas station.......and eating a stale candy bar.

Shelly...keep om keeping us posted

Wondering if Sharon made it out of the woods safely I'm not worried about the man, but that underbrush can be mighty tricky to walk on. Hope she was on the lookout for rabbit holes!

Oh dear...The Bull is smelly from soiled britches, Gayle is broken hearted???..., hankfully, Sankie is still with us and Jade is curious.

Made it out of the woods with a strong pair of arms guiding me.
No rabbit holes but some blown down trees I was unaware the tornado a few years back flattened some trees.
Got an excellent price on the land clearing. Now....big decisions and number crunching.

It was wondrrful catching up on many past years with my friend since the 7th grade through high school. We talked a long long time and as he said...seemed like only yesterday. Great getting reaquainted and knowing our friendship is still alive.
It is dark and dismal with rain today.
