Had no idea #8 had reached the limit.
Appears we lost some post along the way.

Ended up being a great day! Nice visit with sister and her grandchildren. Guess that wrapped
up the Christmas cheer.

Had a nice dinner out this evening with a friend. We both settled for good ol'comfort food at Cracker Barrel. A nice visit and outting for drawing the day to a close.

Good night....sweet dreams...peace....and all that jazz.

Well lucky you getting nap time, Bull.
.....AND I was awake an hour and a half ahead of you.
I keep hoping for a morning nap but it is not happening.

66° and foggy weather has decended upon us with the cold front moving into the area. Wish it
could be more stable....cold or warm...instead of all these ups and downs.

Nothing else to moan about.....YET.
Most likely there will be before the day is done.

This is not a grouch but an echo.

Already hearing grandparents stories of childrens reactions to Christmas morning and what Santa brought them.

One kid looked under the tree and then went back to bed. When asked why she wasn't in the living room opening presents the reply was "All Santa left me was two presents and an ugly old hat". There was a bicycle hidden on the back porch and then the kid was HAPPY.

Another said a grandson opened his presents and was so unhappy that he didn't even look into his Christmas stocking. There was a note in it that said "your present from Santa was left in the garage". The kid stomped off and went back to his room.

Doesn't that say a lot about the level of expectation our kids have.

Sankie...that is the truth!

Been feeling rather sapped the past couple of days....scratchy red sore throat and runny nose. Chicken soup...hot salty gargles...saline mist..aspirin...vitaimin C tablets and plenty of sleep has helped but still nursing the body until it all goes away.

Certainly do not want to bring in the New Year with an illness.
Three days and we can kiss this year good bye. Pray 2015 is a much better year.

Happy Monday to everyone.

I am awake, alive and arisen.....sent Houseguest off to do errands so I am free to play.

Daughter got up and cooked sausage and eggs and after that I haven't seen hide nor hair of her. Perhaps she went to bed. Grandson gone too but he has a new tablet, two new movies and a couple of new games...I have no doubt where he is.

I am back to planning what to do about my new house....I know pretty much what to do but I am lacking money Guess I'll hunker down, draw plans, make lists and generally day dream...

All of you have a Meaningful Monday...I swear it's about my most favorite day of the week...a fresh new start.......

Sheeza, I too suffer from carpel tunnel. Get yourself some wrist braces and wear them constantly even when you work.

Also let your arm dangle off the edge of the bed. Do not be afraid of "the Thing that Lives Under the Bed" It ignores that dangling arm but a hand or a foot.....watch out

Thanks Ladies .... and I do have braces and they do help a lot. So far the brace is all I need. Not needing to make any meds for it and want to avoid that if I can. It's been a long time since I've had a flair up. Back in '05 when I moved from Arkansas to SC I had a bad case in both wrist.

Gayle I've never heard of dangling my arm off the bed to help. I am such a habit sleeper I don't think I could do that. I mean I fall asleep in the same position every night and it doesn't include my arm out from the covers. But once I get to mid sleep maybe I can try it.

Long day, I am thankful I have off on Thursday !!!!

Hey All!! I hope everyone is having a decent evening.

Sheza -- I had carpel tunnel in both wrists and for years wore
the braces then had surgery on both and no pain since.

Gayle is right about dangling the arm. Mine was so bad it would
wake me up and I did that or got up out of bed and shook my arms.

Sarsea -- I hope you get to feeling better too.
I'm praying I don't get sick. Woke up with a slightly sore
throat, nose a little stuffy. I know something is going around.

I am trying to feel better and help rid my head of this "crud". I am relying on the homemade pot of chicken soup bubbling on the stove to do it for me. I added plenty of chopped onions and three large freshly squeezed toes of garlic to cure me.

Cheers to good health!!!

When I asked my roommate to use the burner closest to him, because grease splashes against the clock backboard, which I just scrubbed and he said, "well, it's my stove". Fine.

Went to pick up new perscription glasses yesterday and couldn't see out of them. Letters were distorted and fuzzy. Told the girl they weren't right and she tried every excuse she could think of. Mostly that I just had to get used to them. Anyway, I refused to accept them and requested a refund. Filled out the paperwork and then was told it would have to go through the CPA office for a refund and that would take at least 2 weeks. Funny to me it didn't take them two days to get my payment through my checking account but it will take two weeks to get it back? Wonder what blessings I'll see when I open the envelope. Bet it's not the full amount that I paid because of some type charge they hit me with. Oh well, first argument of the new year is already scheduled.

Good thing about yesterday is that I rec'd the next months statement for the phone and internet. I just switched over to a new company last week. The bill is $34 cheaper than AT&T with more service. Now we'll see how long that last.

Much too early for me to have anything to Grouch about except it's much too early

I have been practicing Temperance using the old "count to ten" philosophy. I some times have to count to a thousand or more.

Now why I told you that I really don't know but if I have no Grouches I had to have something to say.

When it hits you on how much extra this coffee cost over the regular....then it is not so amusing. Make a fresh pot and pour it into a caraffe to keep it hot and fresh is easier and cost less if you drink a lot of coffee.
I have switched to 1/2 decaff 1/2 regular to cut down on the caffeine. Seems to help avoid the jitters.
Glad you are enjoying your gift. Something new and different is always fun.

I have two grouches this evening...

A week ago today 12/22/2014, I had my entire back x-rayed and asked if they would send a copy of the radiologist's report to my chiropractor. "Not a problem they said" and also said the chiropractor would have it by that Friday {day after Christmas}. Today I called the chiropractor and of course they haven't gotten any report yet. So then I called medical records at the hospital and asked them if they had those reports and they said they do. So tomorrow I shall go to the hospital, pick up the report and deliver it to the chiropractor...

To top it off, this evening as I put my van in drive to leave, nothing happened for a couple minutes. The engine revved up, but didn't move {yes it was in gear}......Once it started moving, it drove and shifted fine. Once I got back home, I noticed a good sized puddle where the van is parked. So I guess with this cold weather, the gaskets have shrunk, causing the tranny to leak...

I am happy to see 2014 go away and greet 2015 with high expectations of a better year. I am blessed in many ways but the stress of the past year has been tough.

Happy to report the sun is shinning brightly. 40° with the feel like temp of 33°… The frost was thick and heavy this morning. At first glance I thought it was snow.

Seems all areas are being hit with a good case of cold winter weather.

HAPPY New Year has arrived.
Greeting and well wishes to all.

The southern traditional for prosperity and good luck has been feastsd upon with plenty of left overs.

We used my friend's new oil less turkey fryer for a large Boston Butt PORK Roast. It cooked for three hours. It came out perfect. Yeah!!
He attended the cooker and I did my cooking inside. Blackeyed peas, Cabbage, Sweet Potato Casserole with Pecan Praline Topping, Carrots and hot cornbread and plenty of iced green tea. We forgot about a diet today.
I have already hit the Tum bottle in anticipation of a case of gassy stomach from the cabbage.

Woke refreshed this morning and coffee in hand. No grouch yet except at myself. Should be in the shower and ready to start the day with interest. These clouds aren't going away today so it's dreary looking but no reason to shut myself in. New day, new year and time to greet it with an enthustic attitude. Now that I've reprimanded myself time to get it going, don't you think?

The learning curve is close to an overhang with NO rappelling gear - new I-pad is SO sensitive - but I'm getting there - FBI still inaccessible, but that too will get resolved. Second leg of this sojourn begins next Sunday (1 - 11)when we depart for Colorado Springs, then on into the desert southwest.
Happy NewYear all, it sure is nice to be back!!

Actually, not too bad for temps. - 0 here is a lot different than 0 in the damp moist air of Cape Cod - getting used to the wide open farmland - so far - coldest has only been about ten below - windchill knocking on -20 - just make sure to dress for it -

Good to see you, Shell.
Ladydi has done a great job keeping us posted. Happy you two are going on this adventure. It sounds marvelous....but a wee bit too cold for me to be facing those kind of temps. Brrrrrr....

Please keep us posted on your sightings and finds. Hope yall find some valuable things and the memories last forever.

Stay safe and enjoy every second of this wonderful trip.

Can also be the trans filter GB, have that and the trans oil changed
