Sure wish I knew a foreign language. That would hang them up. Instead I just throw some of this southern slang on them. Most time I won't answer but some days I just need to mess with someone and their number just came up. Not too long ago I answered and as always they first ask "how are you today". I started on her. I said "I'm very lonesome, old, and have noone that cares. Kids won't come see me and hardly ever call. So glad you called this morning. At least I have someone who cares enough to ask how I am". CLICK. That was the end of that.

My brother in law is a trip. When they call, he grabs the phone and says... "I thought I told you not to call here. Did you hide the body like I said? If not, get to it." and hangs up.

Hi..this is Rachael with card services...do they ever get ANYONE who bites after all this time. I guess if you cant beat them..might as well take it out on the real humans when they call. Robo is no fun for us.
Did it once with Jehovah. They sent about a 16 year old sweet girl to the door. I asked if she was and then acted panicked and said what I know they are all druggies and drunks or ex such and didnt want anything to do with them and shut the door. Looked out window. She stood there shocked. Went to car and they talked with her for 10 minutes and left.

They did. Then years later decided we should not be brushing so hard because wearing the gums away.

If we had done better as youth they wouldn't be collecting the high prices today.

She opened up the infected socket this morning and found a pretty fair sized piece of bone.....

Even she was not sure how they missed that when they pulled the tooth.....

She stitched it up and it feels sooo much better tonight!!!

My late gal pal had that happen.
The mess in my cottage. Trumbler cat was missing from Monday night. Getting concerned. Then last nite..hmmmmm...I was in the cottage on Mon. So this am no cat..went to look. Sure as shit! He had knocked ceramics off the window ledges, glass and more. Some is broken. I will have to clean up and glue up. Guess not that big a deal or I wouldnt have put it out there. He jumped down when I came in and didnt shut up for 5 minutes..meowmewowmeow. If he had arms he would have been clinging to my legs. I guess he was telling me all about the horrors of being trapped and how grateful he was to see me. Came to the house with me and still was talking the whole way. Came in and instead of water and food, was more intent on telling me again and attaching himself to me. Dumb cat. He is lucky I remembered I had been in the cottage and went to look.

Been there too many times. First in old house, ex seemed to have not bothered to tie up the pipe in the cellar. Second time up here when pipe separated. Third..a couple weeks ago. Fuzz came upstairs with his melodramatic panic..water dripping in basement. So went down..yep..from above. Check..sure as shit...pipe came apart at coupler. Joe was here and said just loose and tightened it. I could have done it..but..so nice to have a man around the house.

My neighbor wiped out my mailbox on Thursday morning as she was leaving for work. I get to put it back. The only reason I can come up with for the reason she hit it was a cell phone. Her drive is quite a distance from mine and to hit the mailbox she had to be on the wrong side of the road. Said she would pay for having it fixed, but who has someone ready for your call on something like this. I can fix it myself but grouching because I have to. Guess it could be worse. At least she didn't knock over the post.

Welcome to my curve. My mailbox is beat up and looks like hell. I know as soon as I put up a new one..someone would slam dunk it. This one is actually a second one I had. Put it up after not only was the other one knocked off, but also taken!WTH? And 3 weeks later, the neighbor brought it back..found it in his bosses woods!

She has been insistent on paying to have it fixed. Even came over again yesterday around noon to see when I would be having someone replace it thinking I'd have to get a new one or either reset a new post. NO, just knock the nails out and put the 4 x 4 brace back on the post. As usual a 20 minute job takes 2 hours. I had the mailbox off the brace and ready to reset on the post. Turns out what I believed to be large nails was very big screws. So...glad I live only 3 miles from the business district. Hardware store open on Sunday PM, so got what I needed and had the thing back in it's place shortly. As soon as it gets light enough to see I'm looking down the drive and it had better still be setting there. LOL.

In defense of the neighbor she was very apologetic and after I told her the mailbox didn't even have a dent in it she then wanted to pay me for my labor. I told her that sometime when she had an extra piece of pie or something to feel free to drop it over. LOL.

How much nicer than the hit and runners!
Damn insurance companies. Guy didnt even bother looking all over. He said insurance companies refuse if paint is peeling. We talked and he said most demand 100 amp electric and refuse 60 amps. Many now will not insure older homes, anyone with any wood burning including outside boilers, trees that are too close to buildings or touching have to be trimmed back and few will insure farms. So what good are they.

I really got tired of dealing with the insurance company that I'd been with for years. Everytime I opened a bill it was higher than the last and no claims, ever. So, last year I went off on them and took steps to get quotes from other companies. Of course all the agents asked first thing who I was currently insured under. They came back with basically the same quote and if less then they had dropped something from the policy. So, I made a final ditch effort and took the insurance bills for both home and vehicle with me to a local firm. I asked for a apple to apple quote because that's the only way I could compare the rate they would quote. They came in $400 less for the exact same coverage and even added a rider (optional of course) of $25 premium for theft identity. I asked if that meant the coverage was only good if a credit card, etc. was stolen from home and the answer was NO, covers any theft identity. I kept that option as well. Since they dropped the premium rate so much a $25 rider wasn't anything to not do.

The new insurance that I switched to is Traveler's and have heard many good things about them from others who have done business with this firm for years.

All insurance companies suck. The cards have to be stacked in their favor or they won't insure you. That includes life, health, home, auto or any other kind .

An Insurance Co. is much the same as a Casino Yes the odds are stacked in their favor, only the policy holders do the gamblin much as paytons to a Casino.

Grouching this morning. Had a very busy day yesterday and then decided to get to the front yard and pick up twigs that have blown all over the grass during the winter. SO....ready for the lawnmower. I came through the winter months in better shape than I thought, but muscles are very tired this morning. Will be slow to get started this morning.

I've said for a number of years that the work is there if someone wanted it. They could make a fortune IF they would do a good job and be honest. The handyman type work would keep a three man business hopping. Thing is "who these days do you want around your house". They may want to come back after dark with you inside asleep. BUT...there's work galore and plenty of homeowners wishing they had a good person to contact. Sort of been my dream to find an 18 year old who was interested in making good for himself and show him how to get started. SURE it takes time to get the name out because once it's started the word of mouth is better than a printed advertisement.

Jackasses who burn off fields. Fuzz called on way home telling me the neighbor had his fields ablaze. I said turn around and make sure there are people on guard. He did and said there were. The neighbor next over used to burn his field every spring. One year it got away and into the pines and he darn near lost his house. Switched to mowing it. Wise move exlax!
When we went to the Dells, drove that way and all the fields that that guy has as prairie were burned off and black. I bet the home owner who sits smack in the middle was thrilled to have it burning all around them. And when we came back I could see smoke here and there in the distance. I said what is this? National torch America day? I get peeved at they regulate wood stoves, burn barrels, camp fires, cars and everything but think burning fields is hunky dory! Isn't there enough pollution from all the forest fires. And now new one in Florida!
