Christmas Eve is 10 months from today.

I know people don't want to hear or even think about Christmas but it will be here before you know it.

Anyone bought any Christmas gifts for this Christmas?

I bought my great grand daughter's mama a pair of slippers that she wanted.

Also a book for a friend.

If I see something for a person on my list and it is on sale, I buy it and put it in my Christmas gift box.

Orz, yes it does, that is why we have to plan for things in the future.

Fishin, your birthday is on a Friday this year.

That means mine is on Thursday.

Connier, we have to start planning earlier or we may forget.

Nine people have been found dead in at least four crime scenes in a small community in south central Missouri, according to local media reports.

Texas County Sheriff James Sigman told the Houston Herald Friday that as many as six crime scenes may be involved in an area around the unincorporated community of Tyrone, but would not elaborate on the circumstances of the deaths.

The Herald said that the staff at the school district in the small town of Houston, Mo., nearby had been told to arrive early for counseling sessions. There were no further details on why the measures were being taken.

Sigman told the newspaper that a Missouri State Highway Patrol had set up a mobile command post in the area and would hold a news briefing at mid-morning.

True story .... My beloved mother picked up on the 'beam me up' catch phrase and when ever she was feeling stressed and at her wits end she always said 'beamy me up, Scottie'. This continued for years and years until the day before her death. She was having a rough day. She finally closed her eyes, folded her hands across her chest and said, "it's time. Beam me up, Scotty." She died before sunrise.

^^^^From this plant, ancient Egypt made something we call today, the marshmallow.

During the 1904 World's Fair, a booth selling ice cream ran out of dishes, the French chef in the adjacent booth, rolled one of his pastries into a cone shape and voila, the very first ice cream cone was invented.

Once upon a time, there was an old "blue law" banning the sale of ice cream sodas on Sunday.

^^^^ Yes prisoners also. According to the History channel. Partially due to supply. There was an over abundance, and people grew tired of eating it. Still is a bottom dwelling scavenger as is crab, but whatever anyone else doesn't want, I'll take.

Crab... $8.00 lb whole in the shell.

Lobster tail... $18.00 lb. <<< just a guess, probably more.

Spam invented in 1937 saved the boys in WWII.

Tootsie Rolls saved the boys in Korea. But I'm having a tough time with History channel's explanation.

Running out of ammo, the boys in the trenches radioed for more tootsie rolls, code for ammo. A novice radioman took the message literally and sent tootsie rolls. The tootsie rolls gave the men the energy needed to fight their way out of harm's way.

But wait a second. The radio operator had the authority to send tootsie rolls and no one in the chain, who knew that was code for ammo, did anything?
