And it is not so much what mind comprehends as what mind desires to comprehend that insures survival; it is not so much what mind is like as what mind is striving to be like that constitutes spirit identification. It is not so much that man is conscious of God as that man yearns for God that results in universe ascension. What you are today is not so important as what you are becoming day by day and in eternity.

I've always enjoyed religious comedy. Religious comedy is really a kind of defection of a defective mind that in many ways is funny but not a good way to describe mentally ill people. Unfortunately for the religious loon, they are, you are, the brunt of the joke and that makes it a tragedy.

where did we come from?

If you "choose" to believe life has no purpose and no destiny go ahead and believe this and experience it. I, however, believe that life has a divine purpose and a divine destiny and I fully desire to experience a continuum of consciousness after death. If you have no such desire then so be it.

If faced with a terminal disease, I may just forego aggressive treatment. If chemo or radiation can only give me five more years, I don't see the point (a personal point of view only).

When actually faced with the situation I might change my mind, true. I could go to Hell, after all---my sins deserve Hell. If God does decide to have mercy on me there is still a Purgatory I might have to go to.
