Twas the night before the election, and in the Liberal House. Not a creature was working, not even their spouse.
No stockings were hung by the chimney with care, because they were hoping a Hillary Victory would soon be there.
The Hillary voters were nestled all snug in their beds, While continued visions of free cell phones danced in their heads.
And mamma with her free healthcare, and unemployment benefits with no cap, Had just settled down for another free winter's nap, When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, They sprang from their beds to see what was the matter.
Away to the TV they flew like a flash, Flipped on CNN hoping for more free cash. Trump Won, please, say it aint so Hillary didn’t shatter the glass ceiling, oh no, When, what to their wondering eyes should appear, But a sign from Trump, they have to get a job next year, With one election, so inspiring and quick, America took away their Misses Saint Nick.
No more huge taxes for the working and spending pretty much insane, and they began whistling and shouting and calling people names; "Now, Hillary! Now, Obama! Now, Franken and Reid! On, Pelosi! On Feinstein! On, Baucus and Biden! Out of Washington! We’re building a wall! Get the heck out of here, we just fired you all.

Martina McBride ~ Christmas songs have been my favorite. Soooo beautifully sung. Perfect when just sitting and snuggling, looking at the tree lights, having a warm drink or glass of some kind of spirit that warms the body, some candles glowing and light soft conversation of gratitude for the years blessings with a love. And when I don't have a love to do that with ..... I'll just sit and reflect on my blessings, the past year and what I pray for the future while snuggles in a blanket and that beverage of choice for the mood. That's how I like Christmas Eve.

Just the other day one of my children asked me what I would like to have for Christmas, if I could have anything in the world.
It didn't take me but a moment to reply.
You see, I am the sentimental type, love my heritage, protect my memories (did you know that any bad memories one may have had during association with another during their lifetime are all erased and replaced by good memories?) -- anyhow, my response was a closed-heart secret, something safe-guarded for years.
When I was very young, my granddaddy was a Lucky Strike and Camel (both unfiltered) smoker. On a rare occasion he wouldn't smoke a cigar.
I love(d) my granddaddy with my whole heart.
One day as he and I were sitting on his front porch (a house he built with his own hands and labor --- down to the last 20 penny nail -- opened up a new cigar -- ran it up and down and across his mouth, wetting it with spit.
As I sat observantly entranced he reached out and took my small hand in his large, worj-roughened one, and slid the paper cigar band onto my finger, as he stated to me, "This band identifies the product, the circle identifies the unbroken unity." Pausing, a small tear appeared in the corner of his eye, he continued in his Tidewater drawl, "We are always family."
I told my child that the one gift I would love to have to take to the grave with me is a ring fashioned like a paper cigar band. Engraved inside: We Are Family.

Happy Solstice, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanuka. I am over flowing with Xams decor..lol..I went in crawl space, brought up the branches of the aluminum tree. Put in vase and then set the 12 inche decorated tree in the middle of it. DONE!

We're going to have an ugliest Christmas sweater contest over at the senior center...
I have a sweater, I like a lot now, but thought it was pretty ugly when I got it as a gift, from my best favorite Snookums in the whole wide world...
And so, here's my idea... I saw this elsewhere...
I'll wear that sweater and attach my bathroom hand mirror to the front of it...
The sweater will be as ugly is as whomsoever sees their reflection in the mirror...
