I think Trump is testing the waters with Putin. Kinda like dealing with a skunk and not get sprayed. He knows we're not perfect, and he admits it. Sometimes, owning up to our own faults can put us in a better position to deal with an adversary.

I agree with you about the fear. I also realize that change doesn't ever come easy, and there is plenty of resistence to change via whatever source it comes from. This time our entire life as we've known it is on the chopping block and Trump doesn't seem to have a filter for his mouth. An idea pops in his mind, it comes out his mouth without time to bite the tongue.

BUT....during the campaign he ran the country to every group he could get to stand and listen to him as all the other candidates do. Each will pick something to campaign on and beat it to death with promises. Then....get in office and do the opposite.

Trump hit the subjects that the American people were tired of living with, thus his election.

Now, as any other elected president we have to wait to see what will happen. My fear is not what he wants or plans to do within the US, but the foreign relations and he sure seems to be pizzing the leaders of said countries off.

That is the best truth ever. Our CIA tried to influence coups in other countries. We assassinated guys we didnt like. We tried to ram our democracy down the throats of countries whether they like it or not.We tapped and hacked and snooped and more just like Russia and China. And when it is pay back time..Oh how terrible THEY are. Get off our high horse! History tells the crap the US pulled. Until then we are ignorant. And some of the stuff Trump is trying and doing is what was done prior by Kennedy, Carter, Bush, Nixon, Reagan and even back before them.
Anyone remember WW1 and WW2. How about those Japaneses interment camps our Jap citizens sat in during the war, because...they were JAPS! How about those tapes?

Years ago I asked my mother about this and she said people who say that didn't live through that time. The people on the entire west coast lived in fear for months about attack and invasion. The Japanese had intentions of bombing the Panama Canal. To American's this was a VERY REAL threat. Much higher level than 9/11.

FWIW, my mothers parents immigrated from Germany in 1912. At the beginning of WW2 my grandparents and their children were almost sent back. There were German camps like that, just not as large. The FBI use to follow all members of the family where ever they went. Unfair, well think about the fact that German subs were sinking our ships going to the UK. Some right of off the east coast. Except for the Cuban Crisis Our generation has never lived through a threat level that high. Give them a little grace.

No one recession/depression is brought on by a single president. A recession/depression is brought on by the mismanagement by the countries people and businesses. Bush inherited two items:

1. The ACORN court fiasco that Obama the attorney set in place forcing fannie mae and freddie mac to give loans the people who they knew could not pay them back.
2. Bill Clinton build on this by throwing the credit doors wide open. Good credit, bad credit no credit at all. His "Red Hot" economy was a balloon getting thinner as it grew.
3. In 2006 Bush sent his secretary of the treasury to the senate banking committee asking for more restrictions. Senator Dodd refused stating the economy was fine. There is a CBS video of this senate meeting. September of 2006. But, of course, no one remembers this.

Bush didn't inherit the criminal Iraq war he put on our country's credit card. A recession is always caused by a multitude of factors, but that war is what tipped us over...a 2 trillion dollar needless war plus 500 billion in benefits owed to veterans. Bush owns that and had it not been for Obama, the recession would have become another Great Depression in my opinion and many others as well.

So buckle up, buttercups...your Republican president is itching for another war.
