I'm not college material..

But I have two masters in my field
I made enough money by age 37 to retire quite comfortably
And I now do as I please.

How many of you college educated folks can honestly say the same?

Most are still paying for their school loans

What's your point?

Some go to college. Some don't. Each group has people who have made a very financially successful life. Each group has those who have not.

Nearly all the women I've dated had a college degree or at least some college education. A few had masters degrees. I have noticed that I have more in common conversation-wise with those with some post-high school education. That being said, I will point out that I live near and work in a town with a fairly large university. Which would explain the local dating pool for me.

Though I've dated some very smart women who, for one reason or another, weren't able to take the college route. It never for a moment lowered my opinion of them in the least. Just so long as they are interesting, fun, kind and have a few minor vices like I do.

Op if I were you I wouldn't say much about it. Get to know her and see if she is smart enough to have her life together. I am curious about what she does for a living. I've dated a college grad that worked for a bank but in his personal life, he rented a basement apartment. He only liked talking about football. I've dated hs grads that have a couple homes paid for and no debt. My date this weekend has taken alot of classes. He is an engineer. He also went to culinary arts school. I have high hopes for this one. His degrees dont mean much to me. My lawnmore messed up and he has offered to fix it. Hopefully he will turn out to be a smart guy.

His degrees may not mean much, but how much he can make as an engineer/culinary chef, is all that matters to you, I'm sure, and if he didn't have a degree that enables him to make good money, you'd be gone. Sooo, ah, yes, his degree DOES matter to you

OP,
I don't necessarily believe this completely, but my sister-in-law used to say, you should be able to expect them to bring as much "to the table", as you can.

A man doesn't have to have a degree, he just needs to be on a common ground with me.

I don't care about degrees either...I care about intelligence and being able to converse about anything and everything...a degree gives you education in one area of expertise...intelligence gives you the ability to think beyond one area and apply it along with common sense....

If a collage degree is required just to date a woman, then I am out of luck. I spent the first 21 years of my adult life, doing something MOST people are not willing to do.

Now I do not want to go into DEBUT just to go back to school and learn what I already know, just for a piece of paper that says I know it.

It doesn't matter to me if they went to College or not.

As long as they have a good head on their shoulders, and you get that from the best teacher in the world: life.

Personally, If I see criteria like that in a profile or words....that's grounds for a strong red flag, and I'd move on.

It shows a person looking past the real things that are important and being superficial about things that don't equate to the person inside...or real love.

Granted there is something to seeking compatibility in goals in life: $$$ and everything it will buy.

But, in my way of thinking its ridiculous to cut off what could be the love of your life over a thing like College.

To me, when someone has a long list of things like that...they are seeking a sum total of parts and think they can will up real love because of that...which is a crock of shit...they will up fakey love...and I don't want any part of that crap.

I didn't have the opportunity for College, but can keep up intellectually with anyone who did, and surpass them in street smarts.

Only cost $5,500
No student loans to pay off
Completed in 6months
I've never been out of work
I make 50k a year and have full benefits and a 401k.
I love my job and only work 3 1/2 days a week.

Hey Matt. I offered you my address something like five profiles ago so you could travel to see me in person. But like all the other keyboard warriors on the internet, when faced with the actual reality of having to face your fears, you hide behind your monitor or phone or whatever device you use to troll.

You started off semi close: I used to play semi pro. Only two years, before my real career made me choose. Either play semi pro ball for about $10k annually or actually make a living.

Flipping burgers doesn't provide that type of gainful employment. I am very comfortable in my living arrangements provided by my employment. Nowhere near rich, but comfortable well, well above the poverty line.

Now go play with your flappy tits walking to your part time hours making minimum wage at the carpet remnant outlet store.

Just because you've gone to college doesn't mean you know anything. I knew a girl who had Latin on her degree who didn't really know anything. Prof said A, she said A. Prof said B, she said B. Prof said C, she said C. Prof said put A B & C together and the conclusion will be D and she's ?!

The point of education, college, isn't to get Latin on your degree (Latin she couldn't read), but it's to learn to THINK and PROBLEM SOLVE! The faster you learn that the faster you can blow the place and do what you really like.

A is your problem. You need to discriminate, pick out everything you've learned that pertains to the problem and push the rest to the side. (It may be useful for solving another problem, but not this one) You take that information and use it to solve your problem. On the plantation you couldn't "call a guy". YOU had to solve your own problems whether scientific or medical or legal or religious or agricultural or political. Education is about learning to THINK so you can PROBLEM SOLVE, seeing which part of your education applies to the problem and what can be pushed aside this time. That stuff will come in handy another day. Anyone can go to college, but it doesn't mean they know anything.

On the other hand I'd like someone with a higher education and hopefully with some breeding who can appreciate the theater or history, classical music etc. Someone with a college education is supposed to be a cut above the rest, but that obviously is not true anymore with the communist drivel and PC bullshit they fill empty minds with these days.

I make 50k a year and have full benefits and a 401k.
I love my job and only work 3 1/2 days a week.

And there are tons of people out there proving that you can do pretty well for yourself w/o a college degree

And for you that's an EXCELLENT choice. You got the training you needed, learned something USEFUL, make a good living at it and have plenty of free time to spend in here! Well you're doing very well with the rest of it, are a useful member of society, a contributing member in an honorable profession.

Really, what is the point of a college education if you come out a quarter of a million in debt with an education that won't lead to a well paying job? Seems to me you should major in something practical and read up on the other stuff in your spare time. YOU, book, got a practical training which led to a good job you love. You made a success of yourself unlike my nephew who has the degree and the debt and only has a PT job at Kohls to show for it. At nearly 30 he should be well into a career, but he's not and probably never will be. YOU, book are going places, have the career and something you can do any place in the country that needs your skills.

I don't believe breeders are looking for self proclaimed stud muffins. You pride yourself on an animal faculty where a barnyard animal is your equal and a well employed man infinitely your superior.

Tech I don't know how much he makes. Last guy I dated was a cnc operator. No degree needed. The cnc guy has alot more. Im one that doesn't agree with the have to have a degree thinking. He is employed, has his own place, and vehicles. He is responsible and that's what matters. I have my own money, place, car. Now we will have to see if our personalities match. He is retired army ranger so it should be interesting

Birds of a feather hang together. It isn't true opposites attract. These insights apply to whom one chooses as a partner in life. The old myths of rich man hooking up with a poor woman or vice versa are all horseshit. However two morons or idiots will get along together quite well. Why is this? People who share a lot of commonality in personal qualities or traits will have less conflict in their relationship.

Notice Olaf saying he'll happily hookup with any woman, the dumber the better, as long as she has a fine ass. Any man would for a one night stand, but he wouldn't choose a woman who wasn't his equal in terms of education, social status, mental ability, or other measures commensurate with his own.

Ever notice what East->West mentions as qualities in a partner? Employed, has his own place, has cars, degree optional, and his responsible. The current date up at the plate is retired, so that implies he has money from his retirement. That's all good, since it meets her obvious material needs. Will he measure up in terms of physical and emotional qualities? The bottom line is the proof is in the pudding.

People often use the term love, especially women, implying emotional qualities are of paramount importance. In reality, what makes relationships work are much simpler and can be determined just understanding one's self.

Finally, I notice that some of you like to knock education. You seem to think following a particular educational path precludes learning and experiences in other areas. Not true. You'd be surprised the relationships and interdisciplinary connections of any field of study.

BTW, East->West, considering where you live, you should avoid all banjo players.

Sammy I'm well aware that I live in a county that is mostly white people. Hell, New York times put an article about it in their paper.

When I said he was retired army I was refering to him being dedicated and having a work ethic. He was married back then and his ex would be getting half of it. People shouldn't make everything about money. With that said I'm sure he doesn't hold it against me that I'm getting money from the fruits of the labor I did years ago.

Physically he is in good shape. Most women need to love the man they are with. I've only known him for a week and haven't even kissed him. I couldn't possible love him yet. It takes time to get to know someone. My oldest brother was an army ranger so I'm use to that type of mentality. Alot of guys seem wimpy too me.

The guy keeps asking why I haven't remarried. I just haven't found the right guy. O have things I'm looking for in a guy. Being able to support themselves is a must. I'm not looking to be a mans mother. I want an equal.

That is why multiple men are willing to date a HOE but no man wants to marry one.

East->West, I'm not knocking you. One needs to understand one's self to choose a partner. There is nothing wrong for a woman to consider a man's financial status. In fact, this thing is more upper most in most women's mind than they care to admit. I certainly don't want to hookup with a bag lady.

BTW, I don't follow your first sentence? You'd consider hooking up with a black guy? That'd be a big mistake, but I understand a lot of black men are fleeing women like Kandy hoping to find a kindly White woman!

Well Kandy your deep in debit for an education you don't have. Your being garnished and struggling to feed 4 kids. You dont have a chance at ever owning your own home. You can't afford to go out or take a vacation. You don't have a car to even go to the grocery store.

I guess that would match you up with the drug dealer that is using up all his profit.
