Huh? lol. Dog came up on sofa last eve. Laid down. Next I know she is trying to climb on top of me. NO..you may NOT have this end! Mine! She tried to crawl into my arms and I realized she was shaking like a leaf. Now what?! She stared at the door..nothing going on girl, relax. Nope. And then. peep! Ah ha! I know what it is. The smoke alarm wanted a new battery. We got up. I showed it to her. Shake shake..it ok..here..ok. Ended up she had to go out in her pen to check, came in and Fuzz heard commotion and came up. Between us both, finally calmed her down. Geeze! She would attack a lion head on barking and snarling. But a tin peep I wouldnt have heard and I have a lap dog.

Orz, you have a dog that could save your life some day. If you can't hear the alarm and she does and it's for real and your asleep. She may save your life

I can hear the alarm fine. It is the low battery I overlooked. It does a tiny peep every 40 seconds or so. And the last time it did it..I forgot where I had put it. So I narrowed in to the section of room. And stood..where the hell?? Walk off..peep. I finally remembered..smoke alarm is the sound. Now where? Finally stood there til it sounded and noticed I set it in the shelves for the crystal and silver. ARGH! When I test that thing, it deafens one for 5 minutes..or at least causes ringing ears!!

Can you imagine a group of old people standing around the water cooler? One has this thing that hurts, the next starts telling about the long list of meds they take, another wants as much sympathy as they can get.

Just go through the grocery store on seniors day and listen. Two always blocking the isles with their buggies and discussing their aches and pains. SHEEZ, makes you think they've been complainers all their life and it has nothing to do with age. OK should have gone to the grouch thread.

OP I'm supposed to drink lots of water, but the commute along the 58 to 14 is very long. If I time it just right my first break will be at Newhall. Now getting back on the freeway could be a hassle. The Semi Valley way is a big parking lot, so the van driver goes through North Hills. I'm thinking on installing some Depends for unexpected traffic jams.

This shoul be posted in the Question/Answer thread but here goes.

What is the most prized memory of a snowy winter day when you were a child.

Mine is that we lived very rural and were snowed in for a month. Even the teacher of the one room school couldn't get home. Most of our food was from the garden and the grocery list was slim. But....Mom was nearly out of flour for morning biscuits so Dad hooked an old horse to a sled and he and I went to the store which was about 5 miles from home. Mom had me tucked in with enough quilts that only my eyes and nose was exposed. Love that memory.

A neighborhood snowball fight. Running up and down the street pelting each other with snow balls.

Then there was the year that grandma got all of us sleds for Christmas and we went sledding on the hill at the park.

Reminds me of a neighbor. Dad and I stopped one day and walked out back to him. Passed two upside down 53ish car hoods on saw horses. Dad asked ???Oh..going to weld them together and make a boat. Another brain storm he never completed. I watch Red Green and man is that our neighbor!

Discussing the events of the day. Where did the Bear go? Missing his humor. How can work be productive in an office with cubicles? Is TV the cause of the missing family dinner where everyone is setting around the table? What great inventions are ahead that will replace the addiction to cell phones, texts, and social media? With all that, I still believe in Santa Clause.

I don't know what I'd do without my cell phone. When I worked as a home health aide, I was always on the go and couldn't sit home by a land line waiting for calls. Got my first cell phone when dad was in the hospital for heart bypass surgery. I was working and needed to be able to be reached if need be.

OK For all you smart people out there. Who made the first truck? I'll give my answer tomorrow or as soon as I get five guesses. It won't do any good to Google it either.

Nope, you're right on. BUT....in every job there needs to be someone who knows how to read a blue print.

Edited to add. God made man then stood back and looked over his work. Nope, not quite right, better try again.

Back to my comment, Adam and Lilith were made at the same time out of the same material. So you see saying Adam was made First isn't correct. Eve came later.
