The crappy weather is pushing northward today and is to take a big swipe through Central KY with wind gust up to 50 miles an hour. Thunderstorms on their way with heavy rain. Then once it hits the temps plunge toward single digits. UGH.

Could use some 70 degrees right now.

Better than the freezing drizzle and 30 degrees we are having all day. Perfect for hibernating and cooking a pot of beef stew.

Happy New Year Pinetree. Great to see you back posting.

This 70° Weather with 100% humidity is thick and miseral today bringing chances of severe thunder storms and tornadoes. I do not like stormy weather at all so really want it to be gone.

I have bought up the ingredients for a pot if chicken and sausage gumbo. It will be enjoyed next week when the temps drop to much cooler weather.

Don't you just live one pot meals? Easy, enjoyable and plenty of left overs.

Hello Again!

Not much sleeping going on after midnight. Mother Nature had lots of company last night for her loud storm.

Perhaps if I am lucky, I can take a nap somewhere along the way. ::signple?ase::

Well, I have now had a very heavy taste of prairie crosswinds and whiteout driving - nothing like I am used to, but survived unscathed. Watching weather very closely and may leave for Colorado Springs a day early - we are both getting 'itchy feet' to get on the road towards warmer weather!

Getting out of twenty below windchills is the first order - that WILL happen once we are headed from Colorado Springs. - first stop is in New Mexico for some spectacular petrified wood - both pieces/chunks and pics - learning curve on this still pretty steep, but getting there - still no luck with FB, but that is being worked on.

Gosh....will the IPAD take videos or your camera? That would be grand!
Mike...y'all don't take any chances on the road conditions. Do hope the weather clears some for better travel through Colorada. All those mountains and curves with snow or ice could be nerve wrecking.

Yes...we are enjoying your post and updates. Exciting is the thought of taking an adventure. Ready to pull my Atlas from the car and tracking your path.....IF I can find a large magnifying glass.

Happy Trails to you and LadyDi.

As you all are aware of, I am a dedicated weather watcher - will NOT gamble on the road - will change schedule rather than take a chance - the first leg of this supports this premise - had I been rigid on departure date (day after Christmas) I would have gotten my a** handed to me east of Cleveland - I don't care that I spend an extra few days in 'Snowta. - I got here S A F E !

Pretty good day here. Started with 30 degrees, went up to the high 50's and poured the rain down for a while. Then the sun came out while I was walking in the park. 50 something, sunshine, felt and smelled like a spring day, soft breeze and smell of pine.
Nice while it lasted. Now temp dropping to 22 and tomorrow will have a high of 22.

Happy with the simple things in life.

Peace y'all...

may as well since I have not located a suitable toewarmer other than fuzzy socks.

Okay...enough of that...... Hey...it is coffee time! ...

Now don't forget the toilet paper!!!
YES....I am experienced from my own past mistakes. A can opener...a big bottle of rubbing alcohol....guess you know about taking the card board core from a roll of toilet paper and squashing the roll into can, pouring some alcohol on the paper slowly and lighting it for heat or cooking.
Had to share that newly discovered idea.

-10.....Brrrrrrrr.....I would be packing too.

Good morning!

Jade....that is the only suggestion I could come up with. I did a forgotten pass word and they sent me a text message on the phone with a ton of numbers to click on to reset it.

Good luck Shell.....on the shoveling and FB.

Severe cold for the south is about to hit us. LOW 20's...hard freeze warnings...etc for the next three days. Not good for this area....will turn up the furnance....make some chicken soup and leave the water dripping in hopes of no frozen pipes.

Still battling this head cold......drippy and coughing. Duh! I am ready for it to go away and stay away.

Bull....you may have snow Sat. Am from the current weather report.

Getting geared up from noon onward for hard freeze, high winds and our coldest weather of the year.
Time to bundle up, stay warm anx the soup pot on the stove.

My heart goes out to the folks in MN....glad they closed down the schools in most areas for it is suppose to be the coldest day in a century.

Time for another cup of coffee...

Other than the extreme cold weather and the fact the water heater is misbehaving I have no Grouches for this too will pass Trouble is I don't know when or where catastrophe will hit next.

Keeps me on my toes though

But if we didn't have the bad things how would we ever appreciate the good?

There is something about this thread that makes me wax philosophical. Wonder if it's the water?

Considering, not too bad this. morning - only about seven below, windchill here in the southwest corner of MN running in the mid twenties below zero. Continuing with the packing routine, will load the truck Sat morning after it gets a final road checkup and fueled. This time next week should be in the sun and warmth!

You might know I had to make a drug store pickup and the grocery store after the wind picked up. You can feel and smell this cold barreling into the deep south. Brrrrrr..
18° tonight and the feel like temps on the wind is 4°… This is our first and hardest freeze that has been around for a long time. Pray keeping my faucets dripping tonight will prevent freezing pipes. Have a few containers to fill in case of any damaged to the city main lines and a shut down.
STay warm and safe everyone.

Well, I have did my grouches in two other threads about the cold, so now I can say, Good Morning and hope all are safe and warm.

Not many folks up and out this morning. I made a quick trip to the grocery store in the frigid temp and every second from the car to inside...I thought of the friends house bound not daring to venture outdoors due to the dangerous cold.

Thirsty Thursday....time for a new brewing of coffee.

You sure is isn't "smells like someone chit under a Christmas tree"? That's what they say when people douse themselves with Avon.

yuk...read and started sneezing from the thought of that smelly junk. Persian Woods was horrile!!! I have to distance myself from people that saturate themself in a perfume.

Heavy clouds and 38° crrently. A good bit warmer than what was predicted. Thankful for that.....

Hard to believe it is Friday. Where has this week gone.

Have a safe day whatever you are doing.
