Black Harvard Students: We'll Have Our Own Graduation Ceremony, NO WHITES ALLOWED
If you’re a student at Harvard, and you’re black, guess what? You have your own separate black-only graduation ceremony.
According to The Root, more than 125 Harvard graduate students have registered for the black graduation ceremony on for May 23, and the point is to:
“Acknowledge the struggles and resilience that black students have had to possess in order to thrive in higher education, an environment where minorities are typically underrepresented.”
Graduating with a master’s degree in public policy, Michael Huggins told The Root:
“This is an opportunity to celebrate Harvard’s black excellence and black brilliance. It’s an event where we can see each other and our parents and family can see us as a collective, whole group. A community.”
Huggins said the event is isn’t about “segregation,” but rather, “fellowship and building a community. This is a chance to reaffirm for each other that we enter the work world with a network of supporters standing with us. We are all partners.”
Another student, Courtney Woods, who’s graduating with a masters in education policy and management says the event is a way to reclaim Harvard’s alleged history “of slavery, epistemic racism and colonization.”
Woods also told The Root:
“Harvard’s institutional foundation is in direct conflict with the needs of black students. There is a legacy of slavery, epistemic racism and colonization at Harvard, which was an institution founded to train rising imperialist leaders. This is a history that we are reclaiming. It speaks volumes that there has never been a black graduation ceremony until now. We created this from scratch, because for me, for many of us, we are not here alone. I carry with me the dreams and desires of my family. And as a first-generation, I know I am here to change the trajectory for all of us.”
Huggins says students are excited and have put a lot of work into this adding:
“Too often at Harvard, there is not cross-discipline contact between black students. So it can feel like you are the only person of color. At this graduation, we can show each other and the administration that we are here, we are strong and we are not going away.”
The graduate students raised more than $27,000 to host the event and the reception. In the future, organizers are looking to expand the ceremony to include undergraduate students in the future.

Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, appearing on Fox and Friends to promote her new book Democracy: Stories from the Long Road to Freedom, made a comment that would be sure to upset the social justice warriors who want to eviscerate anything that hearkens back to the era of slavery in the United States.
Rice was asked by host Brian Kilmeade, “As an African-American woman, do you see yourself in this Constitution? Do you think that, when we look at nine of our first twelve presidents as slave owners, should we start taking their statues down and say, ‘we’re embarrassed by you?’”
Rice, known for her bluntness, responded:
I’m a firm believer in keep your history before you. So I don’t actually want to rename things that were named for slave owners. I want us to have to look at those names and recognize what they did and be able to tell our kids what they did and for them to have a sense of their own history. When you start wiping out your history, sanitizing your history to make you feel better, it’s a bad thing.
But let me just say one thing about our Constitution: that Constitution originally counted my ancestors as 3/5 of a man. And then, in 1952 my father had trouble registering to vote in Birmingham, Alabama. And then, in 2005, I stood in the Ben Franklin room, one of our founders, I took an oath of office to that same Constitution, and it was administered by a Jewish woman Supreme Court justice. That’s the story of America. The long road to freedom has indeed been long. It’s been sometimes violent. It’s had many martyrs but ultimately has been Americans claiming those institutions for themselves and expanding the definition of “We the People.”
Kilmeade pressed, “Does it make you think less, should we think less of George Washington and Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson because they were slave owners?”
Rice remained firm: “Well, they were people of their times. I wish they had been like John Adams, who did not believe in slavery. I wish they had been like Alexander Hamilton, who was an immigrant, by the way, a child of questionable parentage from the Caribbean. I wish all of them had been like that. And Jefferson in particular, a lot of contradictions in Jefferson. But they were people of their times. And what we should celebrate is that from the Jeffersons, and the Washingtons, the slave owners, look at where we are now.

Recommendation: Attorney General Jeff Sessions told the president it was time for Comey to go after his evidence that Huma Abedin forwarded hundreds or thousands of emails to her husband Anthony Weiner, some of them classified, was wrong.
Schumer has previously been outspoken in his criticism of Comey.
In November Schumer told Bloomberg: 'I do not have confidence in him any longer.'

Today I vetoed the General Assembly’s gas tax bill, and I would like to tell you why.
Right now, over one-fourth of your gas tax dollars are not used for road repairs. They’re siphoned off for government agency overhead and programs that have nothing to do with roads. Then, much of what’s left is spent on the wrong roads – roads with almost no traffic.
If we would simply reform how DOT spends your tax dollars to be responsible and accountable, we’d have plenty of money – and this gas tax hike would be totally unnecessary.
Unfortunately, raising taxes was the only solution seriously considered by the legislature. Small businesses, young people, and seniors will get hit the hardest – many of them are barely making it now. And the system remains dysfunctional.
South Carolina is a great place - and you deserve better than this.

Thirty-one Senators signed a letter asking Homeland Security to maximize the number of blue collar outsourcing visas that allow U.S. based corporations to import low-skilled workers instead of hiring Americans to do the work.
The number of H-2B visas issued had long been held to 66,000 visas but was wildly expanded by Obama in the last year of his presidency, to 264,000. Now, almost 40% of the Republican caucus wants to keep it at that level.

Mohamed Elibiary, formerly a senior member of the Homeland Security Advisory Council, tweeted the word “Subhanallah” which means “glory to Allah” in response to news of more Christians being killed by ISIS.
ISIS published issue 9 of its magazine “Rumiyah” this month, the publication Elibiary is referencing in his tweet.
The first article in issue 9 is called “The Ruling on the Belligerent Christians,” implying that ISIS terrorists are carrying out God’s will in murdering their fellow humans.
The article went on to call the killing and the burning of churches “blessed.”

Arkansas police shooting: Suspect surrounded in home after killing officer

Police in Arkansas surrounded a home Thursday with a suspect inside accused of shooting and killing an officer at a traffic stop.
Arkansas State Police spokeswoman Liz Chapman says the shooting happened early Thursday in the Dardanelle-Chickalah area of Yell County, about 60 miles northwest of Little Rock.
Police said they would not yet release the identity of the suspect, but said he is inside a home in the area and that authorities are trying to make contact with him. They would not confirm reports that the suspect is holding hostages, but said two bodies were found outside the home, according to THV 11.
"Our hearts are saddened," the Arkansas State Police told Fox 16.
A spokesman told reporters that the officer – identified by the West Memphis Police Department as Lt. Kevin Mainhart – was shot around 7:18am Thursday morning during a traffic stop. He was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
“What happened today highlights the dangers that are facing law enforcement officers across this country,” an Arkansas State Police spokesman told reporters. “This deputy checked in for duty this morning not realizing that this would be his last call.”
Arkansas State Police is assisting local law enforcement in the search.
Authorities advised that people stay away from the area.
It was not immediately clear if the other two victims had any connection to the suspect.

ABC Cancels Successful (and Conservative) Show 'Last Man Standing,' Despite Great Ratings...

After six seasons, ABC has announced it’s cancelling Last Man Standing, due to it’s…respectable ratings?
In its sixth and final season, Last Man Standing averaged a very respectable for any night and especially Friday, 1.2 Live+same day rating in adults 18-64 and 6.4 million viewers, winning its 8-8:30 PM time slot. While most returning shows were down year-to-year 20-30%, LMS was virtually flat, off just by 5% in total viewers and adults 18-49 (L+SD).
The cancellation is a financial hit to 20th TV, which had sold LMS in syndication where the sitcom has been doing very well, a rare off-network ratings success story these days.
But why would you cancel such a successful show? A show that reached an audience networks claim to want to reach? No one really knows, though we have a few ideas.

Look, it’s easy to jump to conclusions. Especially since the entertainment industry isn’t hiding their hatred toward half of the country. A hatred they weren’t hiding before Donald Trump was elected either. Comparing Last Man Standing to a show like Once Upon a Time, which hasn’t been good in years (in my opinion) is hard to do, since DVRs and on demand viewing make it difficult to use ratings as a show indicator.
But Last Man Standing, by all measurable statistics, at least appears to be a Friday night and syndication success for all involved. So, what’s the problem here?
A rhetorical question. Last Man Standing played by its own rules and pulled no punches in mocking the left. Which its audience enjoyed. But “woke” tolerant liberals did not. Because if you’re a conservative, how dare you. Watch Grey’s Anatomy (yes, that one is still on) and enjoy all the gay plot lines. Or else you’re a homophobic bigot.

ICE arrests way over 1K gang members in largest nationwide roundup

Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced to the vicious gang organizations on April 28, “We are coming after you.” The promise is being kept.
The Trump administration recently concluded a six-week nationwide anti-gang operation that led to the arrest of 1,378 suspected members, making it the largest of its kind conducted by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).
According to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s website, the operation ran from March 26 to May 6 and targeted gang members and affiliates involved in transnational criminal activity, including drug trafficking, weapons smuggling, human smuggling, sex trafficking, murder, and racketeering.
Here is a breakdown of the 1,378 arrests made:
1,098 were arrested on federal and/or state criminal charges.
21 individuals were arrested on murder-related charges.
7 arrested for rape and sexual assault charges.
280 were arrested on administrative immigration violations.
933 were U.S. citizens and 445 were foreign nationals from 21 countries in South and Central America, Asia, Africa, Europe and the Caribbean.
Additionally, 1,095 were confirmed as gang members and affiliates, and 104 of whom were members of the nefarious MS-13 gang.
Of the 1,378 total arrested, 1,095 were confirmed as gang members and affiliates including: 137 affiliated with the Bloods; 118 with the Sureños; 104 with MS-13, and 104 with the Crips. The remaining 283 claimed no gang affiliation but were arrested on either criminal or administrative charges.
Ten individuals arrested during the operation crossed the U.S. border as unaccompanied minors. Nine of the 10 were confirmed as gang members, eight of whom were identified as MS-13 members.
The operation involved partnerships between HSI and several other law enforcement agencies in seizing a reported 238 firearms, narcotics like cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin, fentanyl and marijuana and $491,763 in U.S. currency, says the report.
Enforcement actions reportedly occurred throughout the nation, but the greatest amount of activity took place in the Houston, New York City, Atlant, and Newark, N.J.
“Gangs threaten the safety of our communities, not just in major metropolitan areas but in our suburbs and rural areas, too,” said ICE Acting Director Thomas Homan. “Gang-related violence and criminal activity present an ongoing challenge for law enforcement everywhere. Our efforts to dismantle gangs are much more effective in areas where a partnership with local law enforcement is strongest.”

Attorney General Jeff Sessions overturned the sweeping criminal charging policy of former attorney general Eric H. Holder Jr. and directed his federal prosecutors Thursday to charge defendants with the most serious, provable crimes carrying the most severe penalties.
In a speech Friday, Sessions said the move was meant to ensure that prosecutors would be “un-handcuffed and not micromanaged from Washington” as they worked to bring the most significant cases possible.
“We are returning to the enforcement of the laws as passed by Congress, plain and simple,” Sessions said. “If you are a drug trafficker, we will not look the other way, we will not be willfully blind to your misconduct.”
The Holder memo, issued in August 2013, instructed his prosecutors to avoid charging certain defendants with drug offenses that would trigger long mandatory minimum sentences. Defendants who met a set of criteria such as not belonging to a large-scale drug trafficking organization, gang or cartel, qualified for lesser charges — and in turn less prison time — under Holder’s policy.
Civil liberties advocates at the time praised the move as appropriately merciful — potentially preventing people from facing lifelong penalties for crimes that did not warrant such a punishment. But Sessions’s new charging policy, outlined in a two-page memo and sent to more than 5,000 assistant U.S. attorneys across the country and all assistant attorneys general in Washington, orders prosecutors to “charge and pursue the most serious, readily provable offense” and rescinds Holder’s policy immediately.
Sessions said prosecutors would have discretion to avoid sentences “that would result in an injustice,” but his message was clear: His Justice Department will be tougher on drug offenders than its predecessor.
“These are not low-level drug offenders we, in the federal courts, are focusing on,” Sessions said. “These are drug dealers, and you drug dealers are going to prison.”

A letter released by the lawyers says there is no equity investment by Russians in entities controlled by Trump or debt owed by the commander-in-chief to Russian lenders, AP reported.
It does reflect income from the 2013 Miss Universe pageant, which was held in Moscow, and a property sold to a Russian billionaire in 2008 for $95 million.
The White House said Trump asked his lawyers for the letter after a request from Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, who heads one of the congressional committees probing Russia’s interference in the 2016 election.
Trump has faced repeated calls to release his returns ever since his election victory — though he has repeatedly said his lawyers have advised against it because he was being audited.

Remarks by Rep. Anna Eshoo (D., Calif.) during a closed-door Energy and Commerce Committee meeting with Federal Communications Commission Chairman Ajit Pai raised eyebrows from those present.
The moment occurred when Eshoo pushed back against Pai when he was discussing expanding broadband access to rural areas.
Pai said that eliminating Title II net neutrality rules would benefit places he has traveled to, such as Parsons, Kan., Elverson, Pa., and Cadillac, Mich.
Sources inside the meeting told the Free Beacon that Eshoo was frustrated with Pai’s comments. She wished out loud that Pai would stop talking about “Podunk, USA” and instead be more concerned about the venture capitalists on Sand Hill Road in her district near Palo Alto, according to the sources.
Many in the room reacted negatively to Eshoo’s remarks, sources said. A member who represents a flyover state did not appreciate the term “Podunk,” which means a small, unimportant town, and said districts in Middle America are just as important as those in Silicon Valley.
Eshoo’s office declined to comment.

New York City Is Going To Make Urinating In Public Legal : Because The Current Law Is Holding Minorities Back
Planning on a trip to the Big Apple this year? Make sure to take in the sites that include the Statue of Liberty, world famous Broadway Shows, authentic New York style pizza, and of course public urination.
Thanks to the Democrats that are running the city, public urination will no longer be handled by the criminal justice system, but will instead be directed to a civil process.
The new rules are a result of eight pieces of legislation that have been proposed for New York City. Their main focus is to prevent the NYPD from using the “broken windows theory” of policing to combat crime.
Under the broken windows theory, police officers aggressively enforce the rule of law, and go after the smaller crimes of littering, vandalism, and public urination in the hopes that it will lead to a lower occurrence of major crimes like rape, assault, or murder.
The New York Times explained that the decision would not decriminalize “minor offenses,” like using the sidewalks as a bathroom, drinking in public, and littering to be an effort to keep minorities out of the criminal justice system, but would instead less aggressively enforce them.
Confused yet? Councilwoman Melissa Mark-Viverito, one of the main sponsors of the bill explained:
“We know that the system has been really rigged against communities of color in particular.
So the question has always been, what can we do in this job to minimize unnecessary interaction with the criminal justice system, so that these young people can really fulfill their potential”
In other words, refraining from peeing on the sidewalk, drinking in public, littering, and entering public parks at night after they are closed is seemingly too much for minorities to handle, if Mark Viverito is to be believed. What the Democrats in New York have suggested to help combat the lopsided interactions with police officers is to lower the bar.

Cyber attack hits hospital computer systems across UK
Cyber attacks that hit 74 countries across Europe and Asia Friday, impacting the public health system in Britain, apparently involved a leaked hacking tool from the National Security Agency.
The attack used ransomware, which is malware that encrypts data and locks a user from their data until they pay a ransom. The tool, which was leaked by a group known as Shadow Brokers, had been stolen from the N.S.A. as part of a wide swath of tools illegally released in 2016.
Microsoft said that they had rolled out a patch to fix the issue, but certain targets, including the hospitals in Britain, had not yet updated their systems.
The malware was sent via email with a file attached to it. From there, it subsequently spread.
Tom Donnelly, a spokesman for N.H.S. Digital, said the attack was still "ongoing" and that that the organization was "made aware of it this afternoon," according to an interview in The New York Times.
The impact of the attacks caused phone lines to go down, appointments to be canceled and patients to be turned away, but there has been no reported evidence of patient data being breached.
"It's one of the widest sperad attacks we've ever seen," said Michael Balboni, President of Redland Strategies, a consulting firm that specializes in cybersecurity. Balboni, who is also a former homeland security advisor for the state of New York, said that the possiblity of another attack this size is possible.
"We're entering an age known as cyber-insecurity," Balboni added. "There's going to be a huge response from the public now that doctors and hospitals are being affected, there is going to be a huge shift in how people think about this."
There were a number of pictures posted to social media highlighting the ransomware, which asked for $300 in Bitcoin.
NHS Digital, which oversees cybersecurity in Britain, said the attack did not specifically target the NHS and "is affecting organizations from across a range of sectors." In total, 16 NHS organizations said they were affected.
British Prime Minister Theresa May addressed the hacks, saying it's not just targeted at the NHS.
"This is not targeted at the NHS, it’s an international attack and a number of countries and organisations have been affected," May said in a statement. "The National Cyber Security Centre is working closely with NHS digital to ensure that they support the organisations concerned and that they protect patient safety."
May added that though she was not aware of any leaked data, vigilance must be taken.
"Of course, it is important that we have set up the National Cyber Security Centre and they are able to work with the NHS organisations concerned and to ensure that they are supported and patient safety is protected," May said.
In addition, several Spanish companies had also been affected via a ransomware attack. Spain did not say which companies were affected, but Telefonica, a telecom giant said it had detected an incident which affected some of its employees.
UK HOSPITALS TURN AWAY PATIENTS AFTER RANSOMWARE ATTACK
Hospital operator NHS Merseyside tweeted "following a suspected national cyberattack, we are taking all precautionary measures possible to protect our local NHS systems and services."
Bart's Health, which also operates a number of London-based hospitals, activated its major incident plan, which included canceling routine appointments and diverting ambulances to different hospitals.

Obviously, the easy answer here would be to simply state that Trump was attempting to make the point via Twitter that a tape would vindicate him, but no such tape exists as far as Trump is aware. That would put this to bed easily, and everyone would just move on.
Spicer didn’t do that. Instead, Spicer stated, “I’ve talked to the president. The president has nothing further to add on that…That’s not a threat. He simply stated a fact. The tweet speaks for itself.”
By the same token, Spicer refused to rule out the possibility that Trump was serious about cancelling the press briefings. Instead, he talked about the unfairness of the media coverage, then dodged the question.
Finally, asked about Trump’s tweet this morning stating that his team could not be fully accurate from the press office’s podium, Spicer simply said that Trump is too “activist” for his staff, “and there are times when we give you information that we have at the time.”

Jailed Russian Claims FBI Offered Him Perks If He Confessed To Hacking Hillary's Emails
Yevgeny Nikulin, currently jailed in a Czech Republic prison, claims the FBI offered him money and citizenship if he would accept responsibility for the Clinton email cyberattacks.
Shall we believe this criminal hacker or not? Does his story add up? Nikulin is coming out seemingly as if has nothing to lose. Why would he lie about this?
The FBI is under scrutiny for running a 7-9 month long investigation into the hacking of Clinton campaign emails. He’s claiming he was offered money and perks if he would cop to the charges.
Yevgeny Nikulin, the alleged hacker, laid the claim to Russian media Thursday in a letter sent from a Czech Republic prison cell amid an international extradition battle currently underway between Washington and Moscow.
FBI agents promised Mr. Nikulin money, American citizenship and a free apartment for taking the fall over hacking Mrs. Clinton’s campaign, he alleged in a letter published Thursday by Nastoyashchoe Vremya, a Russian-language website.
“[They told me:] you will have to confess to breaking into Clinton’s inbox for [President Trump] on behalf of [Russian President Vladimir Putin],” Mr. Nikulin wrote, as translated by The Moscow Times.
“He was offered to falsely testify that he was cooperating in the attack on the Democratic Party,” defense attorney Martin Sadilek said Thursday, the Associated Press reported.
The FBI declined to comment.
The way I look at things, if the FBI didn’t do this, they would have said “we didn’t do this or have any knowledge of this man’s statement.” If the young man has proof, that could be a reason why the FBI won’t make a comment.

Comey declines to testify before Senate committee

Ousted FBI Director James Comey will not appear in a closed session before the Senate Intelligence Committee next Tuesday.
Comey had been invited by Chairman Richard Burr (R-N.C.) and top Democrat Mark Warner of Virginia. Their panel is investigating Russia’s election meddling and allegations of collusion between the Trump campaign and Moscow.
Warner announced that Comey would not be appearing before his panel in an interview on MSNBC Friday.
The session would have provided Comey a first chance to discuss with lawmakers the circumstances of his firing.
Warner’s announcement came after President Donald Trump issued a warning to Comey on Twitter Friday, writing that the fired FBI director “better hope that there are no ‘tapes' of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press!”
The tweet — which has outraged Democrats — appeared to be a response to a New York Times story in which sources close to Comey said he had declined a request from Trump to pledge loyalty to the president.

Democratic Senator Spreads False Anti-Trump Story on CNN

Sen. Ed Markey (D., Mass.) on Wednesday spread a false news story about the investigation into President Donald Trump's campaign team's purported ties to Russia.
"There are very strong allegations that the Russians had relationships with people inside of the Trump campaign," Markey said during an interview on CNN.
"In fact, subpoenas have now been issued in Northern Virginia with regard to General [Michael Flynn] and General Flynn's associates," Markey continued. "A grand jury has been impanelled up in New York."
There have been subpoenas issued in Virginia, but no reputable outlet has reported anything about an impaneled grand jury. When a Guardian reporter requested a source, Markey's office said he read about it on two blogs.
Neither the Palmer Report nor Louise Mensch are considered credible sources. The Palmer Report is a left-wing blog known for making fantastic and unproven claims, while Mensch is a former British MP known for accusing many people of being secret Russian spies.
In response, Markey's office formally apologized for making the claim.
"This morning Senator Markey erroneously reported that a grand jury has been empaneled in New York related to the wider inquiry of possible Trump campaign and administration ties to Russia," a spokesman said in a statement.
"Senator Markey does not have direct intelligence that is the case, and the information he was provided during a briefing is not substantiated," the statement continued. "Subpoenas have been issued in Eastern Virginia, but Senator Markey apologizes for the confusion."

GOOD NEWS STORY: Ohio Muslim shoots himself in the penis by accident
According to Toledo police, they got a call after Murad Hamedallah was heard screaming that he had been shot while getting out of his car. The caller told police he watched Hamedallah walk towards a garbage can on Manhattan before eventually falling to the ground.
WTOL (h/t Dave) When crews arrived, they found Hamedallah with a single gunshot wound that went through his penis and right thigh. Police found a bullet hole in his driver’s seat; the gun was found behind the garbage can on Manhattan.
Hamedallah was taken to St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo for serious injuries. He’s expected to be okay. (Hopefully, he has permanently lost his ability to breed)
