Lucky to not have gone lower than 33.5 here. Fuzz said snow the other am but all the flowers on trees are OK. Pears, apples and rhododendrons. Jefferson Swap was this weekend. Joe said we were not going. Oh..hadnt thought about going to start with..lol. When he mentioned it last weekend, didnt realize I was included..figured he would go with buds. Between rain and cold forget it. His brother went with bud and said not as bad as last year. They had spread crushed pavement on all the "streets". And just rained on and off on Friday and they left when guys started to tarp stuff. I said to Joe..but that does nada for the grass and you step and sink in water. We didnt need anything anyway. I look forward more to the swap.flea at the Badger Steam show in May. Everything there..car stuff, tractor, antiques... including half the people.
Joe got after the Lincoln. We found the line that went tucked under a bumper shroud. Talk about a rusty brake line! And he agreed with me...get it into Steves Auto. So I called Steve and he said yes..he will do it. Then called the tower...yes..call and AAA will pay them to pick it up. So I will call Monday forenoon and send it in.
The Tire Shop owner bought the van and the Nissan..saw my ad on Craigs for van. I told hi car goes too...he came with long trailer to take both at once. Uh..dip off driveway and hang up the trailer. Now..why do I always have to tell the "experts" what to do. Drop the trailer, drag the van and car onto road, hook up trailer and load!! OH!!! I steered the van first and locked brakes on front. One broke free and second not. And of course..started to rain misty as soon as he arrived. Loaded van while I keel hauled the wheel to keep on course. Hmmm...cant get van over winch to load car behind. I said since pulling wheels off car, might be a good idea to take van and come back? Oh..yeah. So off he went and back in half hour. Not raining. He gets here..rain. We got the car out when did van and he had set his flashing head flashlight on back since getting dark so no idiot flying around curve hit it. Got the car up..also one brake froze. His worker came along and they got wheels off, Joe drove his SUV down and loaded them to buy them from Fuzz. I said to buyer, not hep on junking anymore. He said he is getting that idea too at 40. So now the grass can grow back on the skid drags and Fuzz got back 350 of the 600 he paid the guy LAST week to put a radiator in his Sebring. And the van has a NEW radiator. Of course now the next day got 2 reply's..still have van..can put battery in and drive...Now I know..NO!!!

I said how about you drive it and I take different colors and spray as you move. He didnt like that idea..clown car?

The rain on and off was off before noon. Even a tad sunny. So called the tow company to come for the Lincoln. I met him down below. I had driven the car out of the garage..Started fine, put in gear and YOW..didnt plan on going THAT fast. Tenant was outside working on one of his cars and said should have let it warm up. Ya think..talk about fast idle! Lucky I missed on both sides. Hit brake while hitting neutral and stopped. Flat bed showed up..I went to put the window up. Uh..uh..this one, no! This button. ARGH! Kid came over ..this one. Too MANY controls! Me thinks I will need to learn this car!
I am really thinking to call Steves and tell him cancel that DAMN door ajar beeper! Ok..key is in ignition and you tell me. But..NOT when key is OUT and I have the door open. *#$%$%*&)T%&@#$@#$%&OTWE%!!!!!! I am NOT going to have that thing going EVER time I OPEN the door!
Guy coming out pm to check out the 79 Chevy half I posted on Craigs. He works in town and comes down 30 miles from the pine flats north. Figures...vehicles are cheap up there cause people are poor. So the 79 is right up their alley.

Guy bought the truck for the engine to put in his "new" 56 Ford truck. He offered a check too hold..nah..handshake will do. I will take off any bits I could need for Bull. Another guy had emailed..take 150. NO. So today..200?? I wrote back as far as at this point sold for the 300!
I usually dont call guys but the reply the buyer sent just hit me as an honest interest. Some do that. He told his full name, works in town til 2 and a bit more. Call with cell. I thought on it and called. Some come off as real. Not the dips who send..interested call me. No...I reply through craigs..what do you want to know further. And most of the time they never write back. Tire kickers!

No word from guy who bought 79 yet. I stripped the headlights, tail lights and such off yesterday. Joe said the thread part that holds the bowl on the carb on mower is busted. He will try to JB it. Looked for carb on Ebay...all smaller not for 16 horse. He thinks it is a Temcusah. Finally found one..325. I said that guy can eat it. Cheaper to buy another rider than that NOS carb. Idiot..How many Bolens like mine are floating around. All the rest of the carbs run 12-25!!!
No word from shop on Mark and brake lines. I think he hung himself. lol.
Went to Badger Steam and Gas show. We both luv hit and miss..stood listening. But, not something we want to own..not THAT hep.
Got hose clamps, filter etc for rider. Stopped on highway home...Model T high top rat. $8,500 with Mustang front and a 4 cyl?. Too much for what it needs.

Bub has been layin low. Still fighting the bad, bad cough. Guts hurt from coughing so much. Been since beginning of March. Doctor says bronchitis should be gone but now my asthma has gone into high gear. WTF WTF???? Doing yard work as I can.

Shadow, my kitten, celebrated her 1 year birthday on the 5th. She lived! Happy to have her. A female that actually likes me. Hoping to get some time in my garage. Have a rebuilt engine ready to put in the 62. Sidney, my grand daughter, is chomping at the bit to get wrenching on it. I told her when it is running, I will teach her how to drive stick shift in it. The plus side of my garage for me, is the blond beauty in the poster on my wall. She knows who she is. Of course, she is taken and is over 26 miles away,.

Hoping summer is on it's way. I have to get my lungs back running like a Maserati again...

A few days back i started to work takeing the motor head off my 1918 Oil Pull tractor.
It had sat sence 1988 when I knew a valve had broken, I never opened it up thinking that would be best till i could realy work at it. that looks to have ben a big mistake as to the hore i saw when i did remove the head some little criter over the years moved in the right 7" cilinder through the exhast filled it totaly full of gravel & shit even the huge exhast system is pluged full [no air space] at all of corse this has left the cylider wall in tough shape
This will not be an easy fix & i thought the head work alone was bad

I'm sorry Star.... that pure sucks.....

what about using emery cloth and oil to polish the bore? I have saved cylinders doing that if they aren't pitted too deeply. Nothing worse than rodent piss on an engine internals

Chomp chomp.. I had rats fill the manifold on my Cadi when the carb was off to rebuild. Lucky nothing of the corn crap got in the engine or I would have had free ethanol! I would tolerate rodents more if they were house broke and didnt make nests in drawer out of my fac sweater!
Joe got the rider going and we cut some of the park down. Next will be the tractor and big mower for the meadow. Guy was after 79 truck...I SAID spoken for...OK..how about the 85..price. Not posted yet so like I said....500! Havent heard back. So what else is new.

Star must be blind. I see lots of heavy hens with 6 chins and pumpkin cheeks. And old roosters with barrel guts.
Rich showed up today for truck. He got my idea that hauling on Automotion weekend might NOT be smart to try to get through town. So he brought a trailer which he knew is too narrow. Uh..why? He said he hauled the 56 Ford from La Crescent. And didnt realize the brackets of running boards were still on it. So when he pulled it up, pass hit fender of trailer and shoved in sideways into drs and put crease in door. Duh...oops.. He measured his Suburban and two inches too wide and so is the 79. But he wanted to pull on it and see it brakes froze. He got in and I yelled..UH...NEUTRAL!!? He got back out and said yeah.. So I got in, put out of gear and steered. A lunge and it rolled. Thats my Topper for you. Good old truck. I said could probably drive him home. He said brakes..it HAS brakes! Hmm..but then get half way and find bad fuel pump or something. I said you might LOSE a few pieces on the way..lol.
So he will rent trailer tomorrow and bring gas can and battery and see if he can drive it up.
He will do what I said and post parts later since guys were after hood and stuff. I mentioned nice topper and he said he is thinking to cut box off and use as shed or make a trailer out of it. ????pretty rusted I think.
So when guy gets Lincoln fixed I can hand him the 300. Car to car as usual.
Funny...Rich was covered in skeeters. He said if I had spray on..nope. WT??? I didnt have a skeeter near me. I guess I dont stink as good as men.

Wrong oh sweaty male...I have no scent so skeeters dont land if there is a male around. He showed up yesterday and did nada but air up tires. He never thought about no trailer in town. One 25 miles away..hell no. So he ordered one and said if not soon, will get a tow bar and tow it home!!! We talked a bit and I said..what? You said I should charge storage? He yelled NO..I will take it home in pieces.
I printed out the plans for a 1947 Tear drop trailer. Another brain storm.

I hauled groceries in the basement door. Walking past the sitting limo. hmmmm...I should open the back door and check. AND WTF!!! There in the stored bag of wood shavings for pets in stuffed oak leaves. And not mouse size..squirrel size. So pulled it out to move. Now..how the hell did it get in...everything looks OK. hmmmm...take finger and push on carpet. Oh shit!!! Whole floor pan is going. Looks like hole under seat. I wonder how bad the frame is now. Sitting under deck on concrete.

I recently decided to see if I could get the Laser Spine Institute to look at my MRI that was done in 2011, They did and replyed today by phone and they are willing to take me on as a cliant as they think they can help me.
Guess my insurance pays doctors but not Facility expence But I have decided to do it if they will still do it after all the current test that will be needed. sounds likely it will take place near St Lewis MO. & take 5 days with operation on 4th day 6th day go home walking again

Hi Guys and Gals,
If I sit in the garage while my son in putting in an a/c compressor and just hangin' and talking while listenin' to tunes like some old southern rock while drinking a good cold one does that make me close nuff to a gearhead person to post in the gearheads thread???? I miss hanging out like that with a loved one. so when I have the opportunity to do so I do.

Hope all is well with you folks.

Starr, you need to modify the mule so you don't come in dead last. Even though I'm sure you had a great time, it sure sounded like fun.

I put some FRESH coffee on for y'all.

Everyone is welcome in the garage as long as you dont ask dumb questions like are you going to check the fluid in the alternator.
Well..this weekend is the huge Automotion Car Show in the Dells. Joe swapped days to be here on Sat. So what happens. RAIN and more rain. It ran the week this way...50%,60%,40%, 50%,60>70> Guess what...100% chance today. So we had pretty much decided to play it by ear and see. And it started raining by dawn and only quit now at 6pm. He went home..no use. I might run up alone tomorrow if clear like they say.
We decided looking at blue tarps at the swap and wearing waders, rain suit and umbrella whil fighting a wind just was not worth it. I see in paper St. Marys church has their Best Fest this weekend too. And were bragging in paper that THIS year their vendors would not be in gym but on street like a real street fair.

Well Sh*T! Joe called and said his brother read on FB that Leno DID show up at the car show yesterday. Sitting at the radio booth! And we didnt go! Although I assume he was buried behind lines of people anyway. But, we had no interest in walking around in a constant rain to down pour, to look at tarps and fogged windows with owners camped in them. It never stopped til after 6pm. And never got above 55 with wind. I thought last nite to run up there today. And then think, get dressed and make up and drive up there. Deal with morons bumper to bumper, find a place to park..walk and walk and for what? Too look at cars I dont own that show up year after year belonging to strangers who arent around mostly anyway. sigh....53 and breezy. Weather says high of 55 and no rain. Hmmm...then what was that stuff that just fell. Radar shows possible and I believe what I see more than the weathermen. The show ends at 4 and I bet many will be calling it quits sooner. One F'ed up weekend for sure. I think I am getting old...

Fuzz said the cops issued 312 tickets over the weekend of the car show. Dragging on the four lane strip, drunk, bottle throwing, speeding, etc. I would like to know how they could drag on the strip with bumper traffic! And comments on line are saying the same...canceling out due to the rice poppers and punks who dont care about anything except partying. The one resort advertises their own show that attracts newer fart poppers. So the younger crowd see the Dells as Vegas and a party to get away with crap.
The club that puts on the real Automotion took their link off a FB site because they said only rice poppers were interested and not the gearheads.
I can only imaging the mess if it had been a nice weekend. The classic owners wont drive around to cruise because of the punks tearing around and vandalizing things.
The Dells pushes itself as family friendly. If the greed over takes and it turns into gansta central, they will blow it.
I wrote the club and said really need to move those other shows to a different weekend and move the show to a different place with room and multiple roads in and out. Right now a major bottleneck.

Cloudy & cold again and must see the toe doctor again today

you know I would not mind a small local car club but I think starting one would be dificult around my location to much other stuff already going on and would be like getting a good turn out for church it ain't happening these days

So long savings Star!!! I went to get my Lincoln..brake line done. Belly is really good and they saw the new parts the seller said he did. And go to start..uh..start...humm. DAMN that battery. I got out and went over to Joe in my Impala.. I TOLD you that battery is junk!! So we asked..yep..was dead when they moved to work on it. Jumped fine and restarted. How long sitting..couple of days now. Kid said can jump..Joe was that sounds good. NO! I am DONE! We ARE going to Weavers and I am buying a NEW battery and the kid is putting it in!When will he believe me! MEN! So headed to gas station, filled cans with premium and car.. $$$$
Headed home..I was on road at 45 and nailed it. YOWWWWW! That puppy HONKS! Was at 60 in a couple seconds. I think more go than the 455s and 454! Now I have to sit with the manual I printed out and figure out how ANYTHING works on it. NO way I would want a new car when I cant figure out a 96!
Joe put gas in tractor and got it running. Came up and HE moved the gravel pile and dumped it in drive hole. I am not hep to try a bucket. Then went out to meadow to mow. He did some laps and then I took over for awhile. I like that old IH. Seems to understand...go slower in turns. Once I get used a dozen controls, I should be able to even try backing up. lol

Actually worked in the "garage". Started out wire brushing the back wheels on the Impala and spraying the rust with rust destroyer. then went in the bodyshop and did the back frame on the 49 until can ran out. Do the other can today. I was going to clear the wheel covers for Imp but..where the hell is the can of clear I bought. I DID buy one didnt I. I thought I did...for sure? Maybe? ARGH! If so..then where did I stick it. Senility..my exercise plan..hunt hunt hunt.
FINE! Called Fuzz at work..stop at Walmart and pick up a can. He said didnt you buy one..I
THOUGHT I did....He had no idea either so he brought home 2. I said one? He said you'll use them both sooner or later. Yeah..unless I LOSE it!So clear the caps today.
