Only twice, in the last few days, has the furnace come on at nite.... I keep the thermostat at 50...
So, it's gittin' colder...
Priorities upon waking have gone from peein' first ta turnin' on the fireplace an turnin' heat up, THEN peein'...

Cold but dry.
Can't help remembering the story of 1st snow and it's "Oh so pretty, clinging to the tips of the trees". Second snow and it's "not so bad", Third snow and it's "here comes winter". Then after that "6 more inches of that chit again tonight".
Whatever the conditions, (unless you're in the deep south) don't forget to turn off your outside spiket and remove the water hose. A connected water hose will cause more frozen and broken pipes than anything else.

Believe it or not , here in Central Fl, remember Im South of Orlando, we do get freezing temps, we can wake up to 18 degrees on some mornings usually late January and have to drip our faucets too
Nothing like going out, crank the car, turn on wipers and have them drag across ice
out I go an scrape it off with my work ID.. but at least it warms up to 50s or so during the day. so Gloves and winter coats in morning, short sleeves by afternoon
