It's been a dark and stormy night. Suddenly a shot ran out. No, no just another tree going down in the straight line winds! 2-4" of rain in spots, 60-80 mph gusts, localized flooding, thousands without power, lots of trees down. Oddly a lot of them weren't blown over but the tree broke off from the trunk about 3' up! Those are some heavy winds. No tornados in the metro area, no injuries that were mentioned on the news, but lots of property damage. While driving home I saw no property damage in my immediate neighborhood, but we got lots of wind and rain just the same.

Low-mid 70's now, thunder line went through about midnight leaving three inches in the gauge. Garden liked it, but the one lightning strike was a bit too close for comfort - about a second from the flash to the crash! Probably got the elevator!
