Could be worse! They had -42 in Cotton last night making it the coldest spot in the 48 states. Cotton is on 53 between Duluth and Hibbing. Why in the world would anyone want to live there?
Where did they get -59 about a decade or so ago? Embarrass or Tower?

These L55°-H72° degree temps in January are nice but they sure bode ill for mid-March blizzards.
I remember this same type weather scenario back in February 1996.

Winter arriving later this afternoon. Definite snow with an accumulation of one to three inches. Even advising the school children to plan on a snow day for Monday. Well, one can't complain because so far we've really only had one week of temperatures in the teens and plenty of rain with temps around 40 degrees. Sun came out yesterday, temps climbed to 43 degrees and with a wind that would cut you to the bone. But, it was a very bright and cherry day and just a beautiful day to be alive.
