One of my favorite places for getting a bargain is Kohl's.

I bought pierced earrings, SS, Cubic Zirconia, in three different sizes, priced
at $60.00.

Also a beautiful simulated Marganite ring, priced $175.00.

The price out the door was $20.23 plus $1.21 tax, total $21.44.

I saved $214.77.

Love these kind of bargains.

My nephew is the Al Bundy of the local Kohls minus Peg.

It's great you saved all that money, but I remember hearing that some woman maxed out the credit cards on some home shopping network. When she told her husband how much she saved he said they couldn't afford to save anymore money!

One thing I learned years ago is that I don't charge anymore than I can pay in full when the charge bill is due.

I have not paid any interest on any charge card for over 12 years.

My charge card travel points have paid for my month long condo at the beach for 3 years. I go in March though which is considered off season, but it has been warm at North Myrtle 2 of those 3 years. I use my card to pay for almost everything, even cell and cable bills. Most importantly I pay off all charges at end of the month. Your points really add up and you can use on cruises, air fare, ect. I don't travel a lot, but I think this is a great bargain!

Joe uses his card to pay for everything. Said then he just has one bill per month. Said I should do that. No thanks. Too risky to miss the due date and end up with a fine. I have only a few checks I have to write every month. Dont need one that varies too. Our Citi cards used to give us points towards a NEW car. Never got used. lol.
I asked once at Kohls, does anyone EVER pay FULL price. Checker thought..uh..Levis!! I see that they got nailed for fake sales. So? Dont all stores do that? MSRP is..ours is..and now on sale for...yeah..whatever. All I want to know is what am I going to pay...cheap or not. lol. I got another card for $10 free at Kohls again. hmmm..not driving up there this month. So gave it to Fuzz and said remember those heavy socks I looked at. yeah...use it on those. I usually hunt the clearance and find one or two items that I end up with for free!

My cell bill is drafted, but they send me a text approximately one week before drafting and the paper bill arrives several days ahead of actual drafting. I'm getting ready to set cable/wifi on automatic draft as well. The power company drafts my checking account. They don't do charge cards in a draft.

This was some one else's bargain weekend. I sold two items ...one was for 20 bucks and it had to do with golf.....that guy drove and hour and 20 to pick it up yesterday. so I know it was a bargain price. Today a guy came and picked up a computer desk for 5 bucks...he was jumping up and down with Thanks. I feel better when I know what I have to sell will be used once again. I do a few things on Craig's, I just have to be very careful.

I did that one time with a pair of drop leaf cherry end tables. Had just relocated to a smaller house and couldn't use them. Had a yard sale and this one lady, who was always into selling antiques and nicer pieces, stopped by. I had them priced at a very reasonable amount. She insulted me with offering less than half for the pair. Came back later and made another low ball offer. NOPE. She returned on the second day of the yard sale and I saw her get out of the car. She came back to buy the tables, but I picked them up and sat on the porch and refused to sell them to her even at my price. The woman cried and whinned and knew she had messed up. YEP, it was SCRAM on that one.

Heard another yard sale story. Lady had some very nice things and priced at give away price. One woman picked up a highly collectable saucer and asked if the woman would take a nickel for it. HECK, the woman had a dime on it to start with. The lady picked it up and whacked it against the table breaking into tiny pieces, then told the woman "well if it's worth no more than that". Woman about messed herself over it.

Those events happen. Tenant said a guy brought in a Chevelle. Nice car. He tried to sell and everyone low balled him. So he junked it instead. Joe told me a salvage yard by him had a vehicle that a guy kept hounding the owner to buy. Owner finally got pissed and took the cat and flattened it. Said now will you leave me alone.
I posted an engine husband didnt need. Guy showed up. He tried to turn the engine over via fan..hard to do and some you cant. Said engine was shot. Husband said yeah..you dont want it anyway. And went back under the dash on car he was working on. Guy went into panic..but but..need it. I ended up go between. Said you want it gone. FINE. After loaded guy handed us a check. WTF! Biz check so after he left ran into town to branch of named bank and cashed it immediately.
I never told someone their price was nuts. Make and offer and say would you take or that that was all I could spend. Insulting people never works. Why are some people so stupid?

Thinking most of what we deal with and having people act like we're idiots so they can get someting for nothing, is a sense of entitlement they have. Can't understand those type personalities. Guess they think it's worth a try.

Is this a bargain? Tequila is cheaper than prescription drugs?

10 Surprising Benefits of Tequila You Never Knew

Nagina Abdullah

Did you ever know that tequila can help you lose weight? While tequila is definitely not a “health food”, it actually has several surprising health benefits.Look for “100% agave” tequila, to get the best health benefits, and stick to 1-2 shots. Here are 10 surprising benefits of tequila.

1. It can help you lose weight
Crazy, right? Generally the rule is, if you want to lose weight, don’t drink alcohol. Remember, liquid calories go down so much easier than we realize, so it’s still true. But if you can manage to drink a controlled amount of tequila you can benefit from the weight-loss properties of agavins, which are a particular kind of sugar in tequila. Not be confused with agave nectar, agavins have a less refined molecular structure which doesn’t raise the blood sugar levels. As a result, many of the calories pass through the system unused as opposed to other alcohol sugars, which are not so glycemic index friendly. It also stimulates the metabolism and helps to dissolve fats.

2. It aids digestion
Taking a shot of tequila after a meal has been linked to aiding digestion as well. Some suggest a shot before a meal to rev up your metabolism and appetite, and then a shot after to soothe and assist digestion.

3. It’s probiotic
You’ve probably heard about probiotics by now, but if not, probiotics are the healthy bacteria that naturally populate our intestines. They are responsible for most of our immune system and help our bodies keep a healthy balance. Some of the fructans which tequila is derived from actually supply these good guys!

Again, we’re talking about small amounts of tequila. Getting drunk will most likely do the exact opposite and wipe out your natural reserves of healthy bacteria as your immune system is forced to work overtime on the toxins inherent in any alcohol.

4. It’s prebiotic
Setting the stage for the good bacteria, prebiotics help tend the ground, so to speak. They create a living space for them. According to this study, the prebiotic attributes of tequila help make the intestines a more friendly environment for healthy bacteria to thrive.

Again, not too much.

5. It may help fight osteoporosis
Again with those agavins! They have been linked in several studies to aiding the body in calcium absorption, and therefore, might be a viable option for preventing the development of fragile or brittle bones.

6. It may help prevent Type 2 Diabetes.
It also presents the opportunity for diabetics to enjoy tequila now and again, as the fructans being non-digestible, acts as fiber. By passing through the body undigested, it avoids the dangerous blood sugar spike as well as stimulates insulin production.

Obviously, if you have diabetes, talk to your doctor before you start taking shots of tequila, as every individual is different and reactions can vary.

7. It may lower chances of developing dementia
The BBC reported studies show a link between people who drink moderate amounts of alcohol (including tequila) to having a lower incidence of dementia later in life. But be careful! It also showed a correlation between people who drank too much alcohol and having far higher rates of dementia onsets.

8. It helps necessary drugs make it to the colon
People with diseases affecting their digestive systems, such as Crohn’s Disease, IBS and colitis, might be getting a boost from the fructans in tequila as it contains natural chemical carriers which protect the necessary drugs so they can get past the stomach acid, and to the colon where it is needed. Scientists are looking into using these fructans in prescription drugs for these diseases.

9. It helps curb insomnia
Thanks to it’s relaxing benefits, tequila can help calm the nerves and may even aid in inducing sleep for the deprived. It’s best not to depend on any substance, particularly alcohol, on a regular basis. But now and then it may just be that extra something you can enjoy to unwind. And snooze!

10. It doesn’t give you a hangover
That is if you drink the high shelf stuff. Again, you have to drink “100% agave” tequila to get this benefit. Cheaper brands will be filled out with other sugar alcohols, which will knock you out.

No alcohol is healthy, but if you’re inclined to have a drink once in a while, tequila might not be such a bad choice. Cheers!

Dozen and a 1/2 grade AA large eggs... 79C... No limit!

Must be a glut on the market, they need to unload before they spoil...

What they get for being greedy and holding the price of fowl so high for so long...

Two weeks ago... Beef tri tip... $3.49 lb... NEVER before advertised by our local store... Not sure they even knew what it was...

I stocked up... This week it's advertised for $4.59...

Still a relatively good deal, with beef holding somewhat high... (for no damm reason)

Aldi's new store in town sent out flyer. Sale on fleece sheet sets..$19. So I did a dumb thing and stopped. Someone had said screw the quarter and left their cart..well..maybe can use it. Pushed and struggled through 2-3 inches of churned snow into store. And looked at nuts..as high as any place. Hunted through shelves barely stocked with bits and pieces. Of course candy aisle and booze was full. No sheets. Only a handful of shoppers this time. Went to register..one gal doing tasks. I asked her if they sold out of the one set they received. She called to back..yes, sorry. I said easy to sell when you dont carry stock. And no rain checks either. Same crap as with .99 cent turkeys. So left cart inside and left empty handed. Was going to buy chocolates. SCREW THEM! Went to grocery and spent $75..butter..bought 12 pounds at 1.99 a pound. Freeze til next sale. Gal said she checked out and Aldis only hires 18 and up to sell the booze. And heard about parking lot. Grocery stores lot? Bare pavement. Guess Aldis wants you to plow them out TOO! Last time I EVER stop.

Not trying to sound political, but...

Just saw where Sears and K-mart will close more stores soon...

So then, say for instance for one, if... Sears goes belly up, what will that do to the warranties on all their catalog houses???

Or, were those lost when they closed their catalog division???

Rode with a friend this afternoon and showed her some bargainie sites. I picked up a nice tablecloth for $10. It looks just like linen but you just wipe it down. I will try it out.

I spotted a metal wall decor in the shape of seagrapes. I will stop this week and take a peek at the price and how well I think it was made.

There was talk on NPR this am about Macys closing. And guy said on line shopping has taken only ten percent of sales or so. The problem is that stores cut costs by cutting service so people stay away. I know..5:30 on a Friday and before holiday and there will be 2 checkout lanes. The other way they screwed themselves is by sales. So now no one will buy in not on sale. And the millenials have never known quality so buy cheap and disposable. My problem is the discovery of resales. I look at a price of 50 for a garment and think are they nuts..get similar at resale for under a few bucks. I see in the rural that we were always used shopping from catalogs. So on line rather has taken the place of those.

Biggest bargain I can think of is...

Don't buy a new vehicle!

Price of new truck... $40,000.000 to $50,00.00

Discounts and incentives... $10,000.000 <<< bfd!!!

Blue Book for truck you own now... Depreciates, $1000.00 per year, since you purchased it...

Is it worth it? Or would it be better to put a few thousand into the one you have and keep it for another... however many years???

Newest car I ever owned was bought 9 years old.Always ran them into the ground after owning 5 years or more. And I figured it out once..hit deer, torched one...hit by someone...insurance paid me back for most. So I figured out the cars I still own...and in 30 years, I had spent a total of $3000 to drive to work every day. So what if I got out at a party in a fancy dress and fur coat trying to not snag on rust.

Orz, my sentiments exactly. I'll own and drive what I want and I don't care what anyone else thinks. They don't want to be seen with me, then stay the heck out of my vehicle.

I drive a 2003 . The paint job is a wreck. The fake Honda. $6.00 gives about a quarter tank of gas. It lasts me through three trips back and forth to work and a trip to and from the grocery. The insurance is cheap and I couldn't be happier with it!

Cars were always high priced according to a years income. But, now it is totally insane. Let's see...buy a car? Or a fixer upper HOUSE! When I bought my 9 year old Eldi, liked it to the point thought of buying a new one. And then thought..as much as I drive? A new car makes as much sense as buying white, wool, wall to wall carpeting and then..putting it out on my DECK! So I let some other fool buy new and somewhere down the way..I get a bargain. Especially when I either can fix them myself or know someone who can cheap.

I have been under the weather since Sunday, so I haven't been shopping to get any bargains.

No bargains but did get out yesterday with a long list of things I needed to replace. Everything I've touched since Christmas has stopped working. First it was the hairdryer. Had an extra but a small one for travel. Two days later the heater in the aquariam burned out. Then, started to trim the remains of my Christmas ham and the electric knife would not turn on. I've started tossing and made a long list of things to replace.

Joe took me to town. No way I am backing Imp out of the carport with the ice behind it! So, hit resales.. this and that, nothing exciting. And then grocery. I read the sale flyer in shopper Joe brought up...I am NOT braving the walk to mail box. And this is good and that..get in store...where..not? Oh, dummy..next weeks flyer! Dang it. But...I was trying to make up mind about .99 cent a pound pork..and..always dry no matter what I do. Poor pigs never get food in this new world. And then see sirloin roast primals for 2.99 a pound. Well..that trips my trigger better than dry pork. So found the smallest...$24 and will roast the whole thing. Then cut up for the freezer. And Fuzz went shopping today to get the stuff in that flyer. And NOT the pork. Now..get this. Aldis came into town..they brag about prices. Give up on flyer cause they WILL be out, five minutes after the flyer comes out. AND not refilled. They are bait and switchers. So their flyer has the same pork at 1.49. And the oranges at the same price as local grocer. I talked to a manager one day. He said Aldis has INCREASED their business. I said yeah..stop at Aldis first, get pissed and shop local grocer.
