Tough series vs Cubs. I really thought that the Cards would win 2 games.
Silly, This NL Central is not only weak but crazy. Since the beginning of the season the Cardinals have gone from last place to first place and they are about to go into last place again. I look for the Cubs to start taking charge of this division soon.
Houston is beginning to look like the Cubs of last year running away with their division winning 10 in a row and leading the second place Angels by 13 1/2 games and we're only in early June. With a record of 41-16 that's playing .719 baseball and what's even more impressive is that more than half of their wins have been away from home.

Make that 11 in a row that Houston has won!
A manager earns his pay by continuing to keep his team motivated enough to play and keep on winning when they lead their division by 20 games or more which might be the case for Houston soon with the way they are playing. I guess we will find out what kind of manager Houston has when their players become bored with winning all the time.

Well Joe, Houston has now lost 1 in a row as their 11 game winning streak was broken last night. Houston, like all teams, will have a losing streak before the season is over but it probably won't matter since they will be leading their division by many games when they have their losing streak.
Your division, the AL East, remains very close. Good luck with you O's.

Thank goodness that baseball season still hasn't started here!
The only problem for Pirates fans is that when the baseball season does start the Pirates will have to start in last place unless the Cardinals take that no so good honor away from them. With that said, the NL Central is so weak so far that the last place team could still make a charge to the front.

Silly, Even if Houston ends the regular season with the best record in all of baseball they will not be the AL champs unless they enter the playoffs hot and stay that way to become the AL champs.
Many teams in the past peak way too soon and win their division by many games and then start playing sloppy baseball entering the playoffs flat. When this happens they are at home watching the playoffs after the first round in many cases.

For even money Las Vegas has just put up the number 60 over or under on the total number of home runs Judge will hit by the end of the regular season. What do you think?
I wouldn't touch this bet but I would lean to the under simply because an injury is possible and I think he will be walked intentionally a lot late in the season with men on base in a close game in a pennant race.

Silly, I've seen this happen many times with all teams. A player can't hit his weight with the team he is playing for and once he is traded he starts knocking the cover off the ball.

 Hank disappeared when the Mets started having their meltdown last year and I doubt that we will be hearing from again anytime soon since the Mets are about 10 games behind the first place Nationals.

I remember 1998 and yanks won 125 games including playoffs and swept everyone in playoffs and lost only 55 games...sure Mariners won more seasonal games but didn't win WS...
Sorp, Those west coast trips are tough on east coast teams just like east coast trips are tough on west coast teams. The Yankees are having a tough west coast trip so far against bad teams but if it makes you feel any better the Red Sox are beginning a series tonight on the road against the best team in MLB so far.
