Aaron Judge's flight number will be 279 because that's what his current batting average is.

@ Silly,

Former Yankee Ivan Nova pitched a great game for your Pirates today giving up only 4 hits in 7 innings to win the rubber game of the 3 game series with the Yankees.

Why was the attendance only 27,840 on a clear day in Pittsburgh with the Yankees in town? Is this a normal attendance for the Pirates?

Many people today have zero connection to the Pirates epic upset of the Yankees in 1960.
Plus with the never ending saga with their 3rd baseman along with Marte suspension and a
bad comedy of outfield errors. People in this town are following the Hockey playoffs.
The Pittsburgh region is the NHL's #1 tv market in the nation.

Sadly there are not many people who remember about the epic Pirate upset of the Yankees in the 1960 World Series. Plus with the never ending saga of our 3rd baseman, Marte suspension and the unfunny comedy of errors in the outfield.

Right now Pittsburgh is in playoff hockey mode. Pittsburgh region is the NHL's #1

What is the average attendance in Pittsburgh for Pirate games when the NHL playoffs are not taking place?

The Cardinals average over 40,000 per game but St. Louis has always been a baseball town and they have the entire midwest as a fan base.

Actually i don't even know right now.

Silly, I hear you. A ticket to a MLB game use to be reasonably priced but even those tickets have gone through the roof in price these days. A husband and wife with several kids better have some deep pockets before they all start singing take me out to the ball game these days.

The Mets need a new coaching staff. Harvey has looked below ordinary.
I am sticking with my prediction that the Cubs will not win 100 games this season.

Silly, I sure hope you're right about the Cubs not winning 100 games this season.

Las Vegas has even odds (over or under) on the regular season win total for the Cubs at 99. I don't like the bet either way but I would lean toward the over because when the weather turns hot and stays hot the Cubs are very capable of putting together several 10 or more game winning streaks with the talent they have. I can't see anyone touching the Cubs in the NL Central after winning this division by 17 1/2 games last season over the second place Cardinals.

Classic game last night..down 9-1 and win 14-11...Aaron Judge one of his 2 HRs traveled almost 120 miles per hour...line drive over center field fence..Fuhgeddaboudit..holiday 3 run HR clutch..5 HRs in total...Manny broke out of slump...he's a target for yanks when he becomes a FA...he's the best infielder I ever seen

Sorp, I haven't seen the box score from last night's O's/Yankees game but I'm guessing the pitching sucked on both sides. Anyway, you won by a field goal and that's all that matters.

Silly, And just think, this is the year that the San Francisco Giants are suppose to win it all since it's an odd year. Bumgarner being out of their starting rotation is not helping them either. LA and SF usually dominate the NL West but so far the new sheriffs in town are Arizona and Colorado in this division.

TWINKIES should be in 1st PLACE!!! We beat the Athletics AGAIN although our "closer" made it far too interesting. Fortunately there was one constant. We he was with the Twins you could always count on Trevor Plouffe to hit into the big double play and that's how the game ended! Plouffe was the game winning batter, 1 out, bases loaded, Kintzler throwing like an ol lady and Plouffe makes straight into an easy double play just as usual. Twins win again!

Joe, Nobody in the NL Central is playing well right now. Once the weather gets hot and stays that way I look for the Cubs to pick it up a notch because they have so much talent.

It looks like your O's, Sorp's Yankees, and whoever likes the Red Sox are going to be battling each other all year in the AL East. Good luck!

But Judge didn't hit a home run . . . what's going on, is he in a slump?

Sorp, I agree, the Yankees young bunch are exciting and fun to watch so far this year but you know they are going to come back down to earth eventually. After playing 18 innings last night I hope they've got enough gas left in their tank to win in Cincinnati. The Yankees have been helping my Cardinals get closer and closer to first place in the NL Central after their slow start and I thank them for that.

(T0mmy) I still think the Cubs don't look good this year. Your Cards will be in first before long.

Joe, Baseball is the streakiest game in all sports with all teams experiencing winning streaks as well as losing streaks during the course of a long MLB season. For example, if a team has won 3 straight games there is an 80% chance they will win their 4th game in a row and if a team has lost 3 straight games there is an 80% chance they will lose their 4th game in a row. This trend has been spot on throughout the history of MLB.

I agree, the Cubs are not playing up to their potential right now and Silly will probably be right in saying the Cubs won't win 100 games this season but they probably won't have to in order to win the NL Central since they still have the most talent in the NL Central. Back to streaks, the Cubs just got swept at home by a red hot Yankees team but the Yankees will have their losing streak this season just like every team does.

Sorp, You're not a rookie following this game so you know the Yankees, and all other teams for that matter, will have losing streaks again before the 2017 regular season is over. Just don't have long losing streaks since you know the O's and probably the Red Sox are not going away. Just enjoy the best record in all of baseball right now since your team is playing very well at the moment.

Sorp, P.S.

Thanks for your Yankees help in getting the Cardinals from worst to first in the NL Central for the moment.

Silly, This is a terrible time for your Pirates to be making their west coast trip while they are so cold. Just don't let the Pirates become the Cincinnati Reds of last year. The Pirates need a long home stand which will be coming soon and maybe they will right the ship then.

Silly, I think you're counting your Pirates out way too soon with the MLB season being so long. On top of that no team in the NL Central is playing all that great right now and the Pirates are only a few games out of going from worst to first.

Even many of the sport reporters here are calling for change.
Polanco still looks lost in the outfield and running the bases.
