A shaggy dog goes into a grocer’s with a basket in its mouth. In the basket is a shopping list and a purse. The grocer reads the list, puts the goods requested into the basket, takes some money from the purse and puts back the change. The dog then runs off home.

This happens every week for months and the grocer becomes extremely impressed by the animal’s intelligence and its dedication to its task.

One day he decides to follow the animal home and see if its owner would be willing to sell it. The shaggy dog eventually leads the grocer to a run-down house where it puts the basket on the doorstep and rings the door-bell with its nose.

After a few seconds an old woman named cupofcheer opens the door and starts hitting the shaggy dog with a stick. ‘Stop!’ shouts the grocer. ‘What are you doing? That’s the most intelligent dog I’ve ever seen in my life.’ ‘Intelligent, my arse!’ shouts the old cupofcheer. ‘That’s the third time this week he’s forgotten his keys.’

Also if the spring rains raise the water level over the duck or goose nest they will continue to try and set on their eggs. Witnessed this and the poor goose just bobbed around where the nest was supposed to be.

Tonight, July 1, is the full moon.

July is the month of the Full Buck Moon. Bucks begin to grow new antlers at this time. This full Moon was also known as the Thunder Moon, because thunderstorms are so frequent during this month.

Once upon a time in North Seattle, there was a restaurant called...

THE COON CHICKEN INN...

Looked exactly like this. That face was at least two stories high and the entrance was through his mouth...

If I recall, it burned down in the mid 1950's...

I think they are called Lawn jockeys or Yard jockeys. They had a ring in their hands to tie horses to. They were all originally black. The white ones you sometimes see are only to be politically correct.

Gosh!!! I never want to be politically correct They are like ostriches with their heads stuck in the sand.

Wonder what else...Plastic pink flamingos perhaps They've got to insult some one!!!

The General Lee is history because of the confederate flag on the roof. Little Black Sambo??? Hadn't thought of that in a long time. How about the book "Uncle Tom's Cabin"? Will it be taken from the shelves of the library.

Which city will be burned next because of riots from people getting stirred up over all this? There was one in southern KY a long time ago that had a sign over main street that read "N....., don't let the sun set on your head". Can't remember the reason for it.

Did you know that when the clouds, wind, and rain come from the east in this part of the country it's going to be a bad one. The fish won't bite when weather is out of the east.

Anytime it comes from the east around here something weird is happening...
Almost all of my weather comes from the west or northwest and so having it coming at us from the southeast or east is odd...usually means like it does now, that something is coming up from mexico towards us...

Weatherman was just talking about how nice it is and how this is breaking our 100 degree heat and dropping us down into the high 90's!

we had Sambos back home in Fall River, Mass.. back then, no one blinked an eye at the name.
