I am doing a crossword book. And often the clue is for a classic car...three letters. Maybe 4. And EVERY time it is Reo!! Is a Diamond Reo the ONLY classic car the idiots ever heard of! Kind of a rare car in the overall scheme of things!

Hope I don't regret this with big repair bills

Took the restored headlight assemblies for my buddies 64 Chevy Corvair Spyder apart again to run dedicated grounds to the lights. Cars normally used body ground on most electrical circuits and I have found that running a dedicated ground wire to the headlights actually makes them brighter. Well, good old buddy didn't tell me that he had put nasty black electrical grease on the plugs before he assembled them. Yup, suddenly my hands and forearms are covered in this nasty black sh*t. Good thing I only wear black jeans and black T shirts (Harley dealer shirts) as you could hardly see the grease spots all over them. Dayum, that was some nasty crap!

Took a drive yesterday, was thinking of getting my pickup fix but started to look at used pickup 1st and decided to not say anything about fixing it right now I think my old truck will just remain dead
as the 3 grand spent on it just as well be on a newer truck I think.
Was looking mostly at used trailer pulling type pickups as I would like one that could pull most anything and still can
I also looked at skid steers & excavators & fork lifts for some of my remodeling the next couple of years
Bought 4 buckets of KFC to put in my freezer
and last I bought 4 boxes of 308 rifle shells as I bought a 308 rifle a few months back and was my 1st 308 and had no ammo for it
Also I checked to see if the 1926 model TT truck was still in a neighboring town, it was I do intend to try and buy it soon Not at all sure the owner will sell but I am going to try

Happy indigestion star! I can think of a ton of tools and such I wish I had. Like a cherry picker, bobcat, backhoe..and then think of the fact that once I did that one or two projects..have absolutely no use for them. sigh....i think of getting a different plow truck..and better idea..ignore plowing. All they do is sit 90 % of the year.

Good Morning Gearheads Looks to be a nice Dec.day of over 50
Think I will use this computer today and window shop trailers for my future needs, and just what is that? Well it needs to be wide in order to fit F 20's on it and long enough to fit two tractors or better two cars and my oil pull weighs 10,000 lbs so that's the minimum but I think 14,000 to 18,000 or more haul carry would best fit my future needs maybe Would like drive up ramps that go all the way across for trycicle tractors & a large tow winch if needed of over 10,000 LBS
Tilt bed depends maybe?
Goose neck or reg. this either????

Ford v-10's seems to be popular in Gas Motor Homes..

.............I have a GM 454 in my MH Its a strong engine and sucks lots of gas

...................but so do Diesels.. and Gas is much cheaper to run and maintain.

Miss orz my trading stock just arrived and put the tape to it and got 58"
it is 40 cal. or .390 or .395 ball This is a fine & accurate rifle and is flint.
I'm happy to have it myself even

I also ordered three Rugger 10-22's special production rifles for target shooting from my shop. so far I have only seen one & not many were made and was told when my order went in only nine were left They have an adjustable butt stock & peep sights.$230 each and will be in Friday

Good morning Gearheads
Nice Dec. weather hear at the Pleasant Valley Garage is in the 50's and that's darn good.
If you are wondering why I would buy 3 new guns the same at one time? They are for the shooting range I have at my shop, Now when friends & family stop by instead of each just picking a gun for a match shoot all different, Now we can each use matching .22 at the same time. I think it will add a nice touch to my shooting range + the guns were inexpencive at 230 each & high quality and unless they do make more they will be rare and sought after in years to come.

The .40 cal. Flintlock I bought is just plain special if your a muzzle loader as myself.
1st it will work and it will shoot straight if you can
It will win every match shoot you enter if you can do your part
It is a very high quality Rifle. And anyone would be proud to own.

Is it an original Kentucky or repro? The Kentucky can range from 50 to 70 inches long. So yours is in midrange. A 70 would be the cat's meow to me. Can you get a picture of it on here, Star? I have a feeling that it is out of my price range. I measured my percussion and it is 50 inches long. So 58 would be a gain. And I want a flint to counter the percussion.
I ran into a neighbor at Tractor Supply yesterday. He said he heard some law now in Wisconsin that no car can be junked without a title! They have to be kidding! Do they want the landscape to stay filled with wrecks that titles vanished to long ago! More damn government stupidity if true. He runs a township dump. I am jealous.

I will try for a picture when my granddaughter gets home soon.
The gun was custom hand made in the 1980's or 90's by one of the nations best but least knowen gun makers of this type and one of my best friends & gun smith,we call him Two Moons. No one makes them better some will do more fancy than he likes to do but he has done a few pretty fancy. Not a lot of fancy on this one but it is nice and true to any original like it. Two moons has learned from several of the countrys famous builders that now are no longer with us. Now he like us is getting up their but his work will always be treasured by them that know what a true fine rifle is
In short his guns are better than original They work

I read that many of those hand built guns bring top dollar. Probably cause they are more one off. And people want one that means more than commercial. I have seen some in books that were antique that with the brass and engraving and carving were more works of art than rifles. Museum pieces. Like so many things in this world...drool and want and will never own. Too bad so many young have no taste.

Sure glad that ShaggAss doesn't visit the Garage. Every friggin' day he blasts all the threads in DH and is the last poster in far right column. I have his sorry a** blocked but he has multiple profiles and knows everything I post and responds. Hope he misses this one. The right hand column is from the phantom poster damn near all day. Then Cuppo comes back to town and takes over when ShaggAss ODs from too much typing and has to rest his weary head.

I'm thinking of buying another handgun. Thinking .40 cal this time (semi auto). Anyone here have any experience with a .40? .45 cal ammo is high dollar.

I like the 9mm subcompact. Just bought a 100 rounds for 19.98 (115 grain FMJ - Winchester). I use those for target.
If ya get into the defense rounds - hollow points. They will run you just about a buck a bullet!!!
- The Springfield armory XD Mod2 9mm has a great grip and nice control.

Hey Star..want to trade a Belgian Browning 300 for that flint? The bullets only cost a couple bucks each. As usual..no one that replies to craigs comes back after first or second inquire..sigh... Guy who bought the 66 emailed..will come the 15th to pick it up. And said nothing about me telling him pulled the buckets. And he will take the bad engine..buddy can use it. Good! With scrap at $20 a ton, it would end up sitting here til hell freezes over. Or the Chinese start whelping kids.

Ok, Ok, that farmall can wait!!

Even though I see it as a fun & fairly easy project it doesn't hit high on my list either, and it would have to wait likely till after I'm dead for me to finish after all the other projects ahead of it And I may not be up to the task by that time

GO STAR!! Gottcha BULL! As usual..no come back on van. What is it..nose trouble...do you still have it? Or cause I said wont take less than $350 scares them off. Hell...a mower shed costs more. If need be, park it for storage for less. sigh......China needs to get going so scrap goes up.

Merry Christmas Gearheads
Weather is sliping hear high 36

Looked at the 1st generation Iternational Scout early 60's yesterday
Lurch did not think much of it but I thought it looked quite good for it's age.
I do think it would be fun to fix it up [just another Farmall ]
But I have to many other projects I think to add this but the price din't seem so bad at 1k

Gotta watch those early Scouts carefully..... the bastages rusted from the inside out in a lot of places..... look good on the outside and the underside is paper thin.....

Bub I know well of what your saying hear as I have owned a travelall & scout in the past, great machines but rust like all hell.
This one seemed to have solid floor pans but behind the cab half way back between the fender wells the floor was starting to turn to swish cheese

Hey guys, you remind me of the days when I sat in my Dad's shop and watched him work on old cars. I know nothing about them except for where to put the key, how to shift the gears, brakes and sometimes a clutch. I find this thread facinating so lurk a lot just keeping up with what your next project will be.

Sorry for the intrusion, OP.

@ Sankie...Do you have, or have you had, teenage children? How much is gasoline in your area?

ahhhhh... Gazer... it is always better to be totally truthful

Just go ahead and tell everybody that you are desperately in love with me and want me to marry you.

And tell everyone that you are just saying that Shaggy and I are the same DH member because you don't want other guys talking to me.

Go ahead, sweetie... Start all your arguments against my truths. I love your sense of humor.
