That is taking tru fire a bit far.lol. I was on Lake Superior the year the Fitzgerald went down. I would not have believed it if I hadnt seen that inland SEA!
My baby is gone. Off to her new life. I kissed her fender goodbye and said live long and prosper. And cried seeing her loaded sitting on the trailer. But, he is a Jag guy and even has hung onto #200 engine from one, waiting for a body. I got 75K for her. Mind boggling! I paid $75 and two slotted mags in 1969. One car I NEVER let go and wouldnt sell. A guy stopped every summer long ago, for years. Give you 2000. Nope. He finally gave up. I was 19 when I bought her. Works out to saving a grand a year for all those years. I guess I should have named her Kay..as in 401K! Guy said he had to convince his wife to use half THEIR retirement fund to buy her.
Joe told them they get to leave with her and he gets to deal with the aftermath. We went down yesterday and he worked on my 49. Cut lose the box and took the cross pieces home to weld new top metal on. And I went down in the garage and swept where the Jag sat. I saved a few bits of her that were laying there. Some rotted canvas and hunk of bondo. Guess that is all I have now. And a ton of pictures.
He said he will do as much work as he can. And then..happens to live by some famous builder guys who english wheel out aluminum cars and stuff. So she will get the care and money into her I never would have. He even was into the 327 a bit. So it may find a home. No use for me to keep it. No car to put it in anymore. Came out of a 1969 Chevy Caprice, two barrel. So if he thinks he has something...oops. Wrong.

Amen..... parking sucks with the car hauler on the back.....

I always used McDonalds drive through to eat with the trailer on back. Pissed off people behind me

One time, my son and I were hauling a 63 Chev convertible body back from California and wound up in a parade in Winslow Arizona. People hooted and cheered at our "Float".....
I should have had a girl sitting in the car waving.....

Of course, my son had to tell all my car buddies.....

Hey Bub..if the parade was anything like the ones around here, yours was probably the best in it!
I am on a hunt for a tractor. Now Tony told Joe of one for 4K that is an IH. But, comes WITH bucket, brush hog and something else. I told him if I pay 2500 for a tractor and then have to buy and FIND those, will end up around that. So he will go over and see if it is a piece of crap. I had a 59 or something IH truck with a 10 foot box. Slowest thing on earth but came down out of the bluffs with a load of hay stacked all the way onto the cab. And husband had to point out, look at this..whiped wheel back and forth and front tires were not on the road.

Gee...maybe you packed the soil around so it raised? Our mowed area had flat rocks. Mom mowed the tops off them. lol.
Uh..why is there a manhole cover in the LAWN?
Calling on tractors. Joe is heading to check out one Tony told him about. And Joe sent a craigs on a John Deere he likes. I DONT! Uh..I am after a 8/9N, not a backhoe or bulldozer!!!

No, I finally got it!
New spindle, New pulley, new blade, self tapping bolts.
About a hundred and twenty bucks.
-
They don't tap the spindles anymore!
I had to use self tapping bolts! (Lazy s o b's)!!! They sure didn't lower the price!
-
But I'm back up and running, and the grass is cut! (Finally)

They are making the highway a four lane in front of my house and moved the water meter inside my fence, so now I have to be careful around the meter so I won't hit it with my lawnmower.

Been driving over it for years! This last time it decided to jump up and grab me! (Did a heck of a job too)!
Think I'll take a wide berth around it from now on, or build up the dirt around it.

WTH!!!????
I am now the proud..and scared owner...of a something 60s IH 606 Tractor with bucket and brush hog mower. It is weird..look at it from distance and not that big. Stand next to it and it grows. Only a few inches longer and taller than a Ford by ruler. The guy, Dana is super nice. He had the carb off to rebuild it. And Joe went today to pay for it. Dana told him he did the carb, greased it, got the PT working well, tuned it up and even welded the step I wanted but did both sides. And then welded JAG on the one in memory. All it will need is an oil change. And he even took a pen and labeled the levers for me. What a guy. Joe said to look up the model and find out what filter core and oil. Eric said he will drive down with the low boy tomorrow to bring it home.
I am a bit scared of it. But thought..if my dad who went from horse to vehicles could buy the Case and plant our fields..I who have spent my life with vehicles, should manage fine once I get to know it. And I think this 6 will beat out a Ford. Plus has live PTO.
