Happy Birthday! And guns are not presents..they are INVESTMENTS! So go buy more. Especially the revolvers!
I have a quart of Rustoleum oil paint. And foam rollers. Now to decide which suggestion of thinning to use to paint the tractor. Company says 5%. Car guys say 50/50 cut with mineral spirits. Some 60/40. Some 75/25. Gee people..glad you all agree! And then, dry for 24 hours and sand. Dont dare sand it. Too thin it runs. Too thick it bubbles. So I think I will do 60/40, run to drip in 4 seconds or so, very dry roller and thin coat and see what I COME up with!

Bear just how good was that cake ?
And Thanks to all

Had Quite an afternoon today, my goal was to get Sean to my Model T for learning & driving lessons. Had to wait till 2:30 for Sean to get cut lose from fire wood work.
Came to my house to call Paul [the model T man] He said just give me a big hour.
So we shot my new pistol after Sean road the scooter awhile. Then Sean saw my right rear turn signal light was missing on the scooter. that now makes both sides lost, I ask him to retrace his ride and find it if he could? He found a sate officer instead as I got a phone call asking me to come down to the hyway Had to load the scooter in my truck & take Sean home but he did let Sean off of the ticket. No Helmet & no licens at age 15. We did get in the driving of the model T at last, I told Sean now what if the same cop pulls you over "Kid" what the $#@*&%^ But Sean was legal
this time as he has a Learner's Permit

Belated birthday wishes to Star and Denim.

Drivers permit at 15? Have to be 16 in KY and my grandson just turned the calander for his permit this summer. For his birthday I've given him drivers education classes and we go each Saturday morning. He is required to have six for the insurance certificate. My how fast they grow up.

Just did the same for my oldest grand daughter. Yea, they grow up way too fast.

Way back in 1962, I got my permit on my 15th birthday and started drivers Ed the next Saturday. It was the second driver's ed class in that part of St Paul. The two cars I got to drive were a 1962 Forg Galaxie 2 door and a 1962 Plymouth Valiant 4 door.

Then, if we passed with a high score, we could take the driver's test when we finished. So, old Bub had his drivers license at 15 years and 3 months. Had my first car then too.
6 year old (1956) Chevy 210 model 2 door sedan. Needed some work so I got it for $120.

I think we could get a learners permit at 15. But, had to be driving with a licensed driver in day times only. Got license at 16. But, some farm boys got theirs at 15. Or was it 14. They were part of the farmhands and were allowed to drive the trucks to mills and such.
We all learned to drive in fields. I remember the first time I drove on the road with the 59 Ford station wagon..Wow! Are roads SMOOTH! Wasnt sure how to drive without avoiding plow ruts.
Today I try painting the IH.

Up late but was tired after yesterday having to load that heavy scooter in my pickup and off again
The rear turn signals will never stand up to our warshboard roads hear, we did find this one after it fell off and it is just glued together & the glue fails when warshboard whipped is all, so guess I will not have turn signals anymore
Will tell Cushman ll that they have a faulty product though.

Interesting stories we got here of folks learning to drive.

My ex taught me how to drive a little three speed Datsun truck, it belonged to his neighbor. We would go out on back dirt roads I was 15. Also, even though I had been riding mopeds he taught me how to ride a street bike (motorcycle) and I got me motorcycle license at 15 and soon (about a month later) after my 16th birthday my auto license. When taking drivers ED the family car was a Lincoln with the suicide doors and a Chrysler Saratoga, I was actually driving that before I even took drivers ED. I don’t even remember who or when I started driving it. I think it had something to do with driving because my Dad was too drunk to dive so he had me drive. I think I blocked all that out.

Yes, I was one of THOSE kids driving without a license or permit and sneaking the car out or skipping school. Amazing I didn’t kill myself or someone else or get picked up.

I saw one of those little Datsun’s about 6 months ago. It blew my mind as I had not seen one in ages!!!!

I did meet with the guy today that I bought my model T from, at the time I was going to buy two from him but he only had one good title so I only bought that one.
He now has a Bonded Title that I am shure is good but sence then I also Bought A TT Truck
So not really needing a 3nd really 4th model t I did make him an offer on his 1926 pickup runabout, some less than I had when he had no title & reclined it. So I may still get another model T or not Guess we will see if I am High bidder in the end or not? I know he wants to sell but know he would like more as well.
I now feel I over bid it the 1st time & feel I'm more close to right this time Also far less need for me now. If I lose it I just lose it.
I offered the same as the one I did buy but no premioum for being a truck as to a car.

First stick I drove was a 61 Ford convert that had been changed over. Still had the auto rear end in it. I spent an hour on the side street and ran out of gas. Walked back to ex..how far are you. Oh about where you left me. LOL. Should have taken out the battery. Start, kill, start, kill, start, kill. The cop who was always after ex passed. He slowed..looked at car with no plates..recognized me and just kept going. Figured I had trouble enough. lol
Got the directional housing painted for 49. Bronze. So black it only shows glitter in sun.
Masked off the IH labels on tractor. Gave up on name across bucket frame. No use..just did a few to keep spacing and will have to do new letters. Roller paint today before rain tomorrow.
