I read this on FB today. A 68 year old white Democrat posted this.
Quote:
"For the last 7 years and 9 1/2 months, I've had to endure racist a**holes continually refer to President Obama as "the Resident at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave." or the "squatter in the people's house," or things such as "He's not my president" or "I will never call him president". So now you racist a**holes, let's see how much YOU like it because I will NEVER refer to tRump as President, and as far as I'm concerned, is nothing but a con man who duped a lot of ignorant people into voting for him simply because he appealed to the lowest common denominator of human intelligence....the white racist. He will, for the entire time of office, will ALWAYS be referred to by me as "the Resident at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave." The first couple will, as of now, only be referred to as "tRUMP and Tramp." Turn about is fair play, a**holes."

Pondering ..... I think a lot of the underlying people in the presidential riot’s stem from the people that support the thugs in the BLM movement. They are using this as an excuse to future their agenda. If the BLM’s can add fuel to those upset about the election and get them going and doing the things they did then “they, the BLM” are saying they are justified in their riots and to them it makes them look good. jmho

This is what Medicare recipients look forward to....Republicans have to pay for their tax cuts for billionaires some way...
What Does Privatization of Medicare and Social Security Mean?
TwitterFacebookRedditShare2,144 [COMMENTS]
(click here to jump to: Privatization of Social Security)
What does it mean to privatize Medicare?
Medicare coverage card. Privatization of medicarePrivatization of Medicare means changing Medicare from a guaranteed benefits program for seniors into a premium assistance program: a voucher or coupon an individual uses to buy insurance on the open market. The coupon has a fixed value – there’s no guarantee a person can get the level of coverage they need, nor the monthly premiums or deductibles that are affordable on a fixed income. A $500 coupon is useless if the product the person needs to buy costs $5000 a month.
Privatized Medicare means there would no longer be a guarantee that senior citizens have health insurance coverage, because it shifts the negotiating power away from the government and onto the individual on the open market. Basically, it puts you against the insurance companies; buying your own private health insurance policy.
Medicare creates the negotiating leverage and the guarantee. Medicare is a single payer system: the US government. Medicare is socialized health care – but only for older citizens. The negotiating leverage of millions of people is necessary to keep costs of medical services low. Take that leverage away by privatizing – and rates go up.
That’s why Medicare was created in the first place: because the costs to insure seniors are very high. The only way to control those costs while also guaranteeing the most basic coverage is to socialize it so that the leverage and financial resources exist.
Private insurance companies also don’t have to give comprehensive coverage. Privatizing Medicare is gambling. But it’s a gamble for the individual, not the insurance companies. Insurance companies can deny coverage as much as they want – especially if the GOP lives up to its long-time promise of repealing Obamacare, which would eliminate the pre-existing condition protections. Just because a person is holding a coupon worth X amount of dollars to buy private insurance does not mean an insurance company will actually sell them a policy that covers all their needs – let alone a policy that has out-of-pocket costs and deductibles that a person on a fixed income can manage without starving or losing their home.
The number of uninsured, and more notably, under-insured seniors in America will skyrocket if Medicare is privatized simply because insuring seniors is not profitable. Even if a private health insurance company will sell a policy, they will most likely do so at a very high cost that the voucher doesn’t cover. For example, a senior might have a privatized medicare voucher for $2500 – but the total cost of a comprehensive policy for someone over 65 costs 10 times that amount. The end result of privatizing Medicare is millions of uninsured and under-insured people in America. It destroys America’s safety net. It breaks the meager Social Contract that we have in America.
Privatization of Medicare means seniors must buy their health insurance on the open market – just like any other person who doesn’t get coverage through their employer. Privatization gives a voucher to offset the cost of buying a policy. How easy is it, do you think, for an 80-year old person to get an insurance policy from a private insurance company? What happens to that person when their insurance policy reaches its maximum? If Medicare is privatized… that person is out of luck.
Privatizing Medicare Means More Choice… For Insurance Companies

Maggie ~~ I apologize ~~ I didn't read the post.
Medicare for "seniors" currently receiving those medical benefits WILL NOT be affected by any privitazation program which may be enacted in the future.
Just exactly the same as Social Security benefits for "seniors" who are currently receiving those benefits.
I have read these 'proposed'changes, thoroughly, and the chages will effect the 'younger'generations of Americans -- NOT the elders.
This is the same type of scare tactic which was used by Republicans several years ago.
Please, stop with incorrect data which may cause panic and distress in the "senior" community which may read this kind of political rhetoric.
The false, and misleading, insurance information which began with the Affordable Care Act caused extreme fear, and insurance or income loss, by accepting the insurance companys sales pitch and giving up their Medicare coverage to sign on to the government plan. Plus, they didn't read (or couldn't see to read, the very small fine print).
SENIOR CITIZENS -- DO NOT believe the crap you hear about insurance privatation.
Call your Social Security office for correct representation.

Cup, please do a little more research. Thank you. You've mentioned this before and they have many ways to go about changing OUR PRESENT MEDICARE AND SOCIAL SECURITY. I will continue to post my concerns as long as credible information is pointing in this direction. We'll have to agree to disagree. If you tell me what and how to post again, you're blocked.
Also, this is coming out of the Republicans' mouths. You are simply trying to be a know it all again.

I'm sorry you don't like up to date research...go to the SS website you say...call the SS office, you say...they aren't the lawmakers and can only guess what the lawmakers are doing to SS.
You are being blocked yet again (as the majority of folks in the 60s have done to you) and this time it's for good. The other day you went down 15 threads saying poop and chickensh** referring to someone else's one post...(I won't call her name.) I blocked you that day and should have kept you blocked. Some haters got conned by Trump...
We can now add “lock her up” to the list of promises that he has broken before he ever takes office. The wall has now become a fence. Obamacare is not going to be fully repealed. Trump’s plan to put tax and tariffs on foreign goods has not been mentioned since election day. Trump’s plan to deport 11 million immigrants, became a plan to deport 2-3 million immigrants, to now no mass deportations, according to Speaker of the House Paul Ryan. Instead of draining the swamp of the special interests, Trump is staffing his administration with special interests.
It is both funny and sad because Trump supporters were warned that their candidate was a con man who would tell them exactly what they wanted to hear to win the election. Outside of the massive tax cuts for the wealthy that Trump promised, there is little remaining of Trump’s campaign agenda.
Trump played Republican voters, and now every supporter who chanted lock her up looks like a complete idiot.

Another possible disappointment for the Haters...
Quote:
Donald Trump is "fine" with same-sex marriage and doesn't think the Supreme Court needs to revisit the matter, the president-elect said Sunday, diverting from the Republican Party's official position on the matter.
In an interview with CBS' "60 Minutes" aired Sunday, Trump said the issue has "been settled," adding that he personally feels about gay marriage is irrelevant.

So does all this surprise you? If so where have you been all your life in watching other candidates do the same thing. You think "that woman" would not have done the same thing? Perhaps she didn't commit to anything so specific that her feet could be held to the fire. Those that swallowed all the promises and believed them, set themselves up for disappointment. Campaigning is a game of which the squeakiest wheel gets the oil.
??? Will just have to wait to see where this goes and would have had to do the same thing should Hillary have been elected. It's basically out of our hands now and we've had the opportunity to have our say, so need to get back in our little space and take what's dealt, like it or not.

Not conned, nor am I wearing blinders. Just feel a breath of fresh air after the election. Where it all goes from here is anyone's guess. Can't be any worse than it's been because the American people have been over looked and ignored so long we don't even count in the scheme of things. That is unless a person was rooting for Obamacare and profited by the free bee's his plan included. Those using cell phones to deal or buy drugs got a free phone, but those who have worked all our lives and are taxed to death when we got our paycheck didn't qualify for a free phone because we either wasn't receiving food stamps or on Medicaid. Our prescription cost hits the donut hole, but Obamacare see's they have a medical card for them and at least three little kids of differnt fathers and would like to have more crumb snatchers because they can get more checks and foodstamps, then set in a resturaunt with an a** so wide it overlaps the chair, but there's a half gallon coke in front of them to go with their pizza.
Where have I been? Couldn't see anything before me, because my nose was to the grind stone.

Please turn off the Fox and Rush rhetoric in your head. The free phones were signed by Bush right before the end of his administration. When folks say that it is an Obama phone, I know they know too little for me to carry on a decent conversation. Obama will go down in history as being one of the best presidents ever because he pulled us out of the Great Bush Recession even with the Republican controlled House and Senate obstructing him at every turn. Many scholars call it a miracle. All of the Dems had plans to improve Obamacare. Any new program has flaws at first. Your Medicare and SS that your a** loves so much had huge flaws at first. Dems fought for those programs and are still fighting for them. i wish there was some way Republican voters had to live under the Republican lawmakers' agenda and Dems under the Dems's agenda. Would server you right.

Well, no matter what anyone else may think, it's not with your agenda so they will never win a debate. Heck, I know so little about politics I can't even last the full minute of a debate on that subject. So having said that , recess is over because I'm tired of playing. You've a right to your opinion but yelling, whinning, and being nasty isn't going to change things. The vote was cast so whatever happens we have to live with it. Not saying we have to like it, but it is what it is so now we have to wait to see where it goes. The last I heard, voting is a priviledge of the American people and have the right to choose whom we cast the vote for. So we had the option to do a write in as well. I'm only admitting to the write in. Saying I voted for Goofy and let the powers that be decide who got my vote. Guess Trump won.

My friend posted this and it says it all.
8 years ago I was as proud to be an American as I ever was. I thought the country had finally grown up and gotten over the abject racism that defined most of its existence. Little did I realize that the giant step forward those of us who are civilized took by electing the first black president would be negated by the giant step backwards the uncivilized racists and hate mongers, most of them closeted, would take in destroying our advancement. As if the 8 years of unmitigated hate these "people" spewed continually wasn't bad enough, they had to go completely in the opposite direction and support a pathetic con man simply because he legitimized their hate and racism. Anyone who tells you they voted for Trump because they wanted a change or they couldn't trust Hillary is a liar. The change they wanted was a denial that that the last 8 years happened. They wanted to erase the fact that a black man occupied their White House so badly that they elected the antithesis of every bit of progress this country ever made. Anyone who tells you race had nothing to do with their vote for Trump is a liar, and a pretty damn pathetic one at that, no matter how hard they try to convince themselves otherwise.

It doesn't matter, E.
It still reflects adversely to your parenting skills in making your son look guilt of something he may not have done.
Just because the capsule gel was in his car doesn't implicate him in any wrongdoing.
You don't know if the few is OTC or prescription.
See where I'm going?
As a parent we learn the facts before making a claim of,even, possible wrong-doing.
Good luck at the pharmacy.
Hope all goes well for you, and your son.

I found a postcard a long time ago and have kept it just for the laugh. The picture was of this rough and ragged old guy holding two buckets. The caption said "Don't forget when you find that you're up to your azz in gators, that you set out to drain the swamp".

It is exactly what was predicted by those who were not conned by Trump.

Shell (Mike) ~~ Ever since I began posting on DH I always respected you -- pondered your view when you expressed your personal opinion, even when I didn't agree with it -- and didn't look at you, personally, in a any way which would be demeaning to your character or personality.
Hell's Bells ~~ I make every effort to afford all humanity that same regard.
Yet today you chose to post in this group, after a lengthy pause from posting, and deign to bitterly condemn other posters for their post counts when you, yourself, don't bother with posting much of the time. Don't you find that ironic?
I find that that particular attitude is reminiscent of a child -- a jealous child, at that.
Then you demean posters (members) by calling them derrogotory names. Shame on you, as an older male nor stooping to such a low attack. Are you drinking again, after all these years of being 'sober'?
Whom, exactly, are you referring to as 'cretins'?
Don't you have a handicap in your senior years?
The forums, as is this entire site, open to public availibity. Wouldn't it be wiser, as an adult, to post whenever and wherever you choose instead of abusing the posting rights of other members here?

It doesn't matter, E.
It still reflects adversely to your parenting skills in making your son look guilt of something he may not have done.
Just because the capsule gel was in his car doesn't implicate him in any wrongdoing.
You don't know if the few is OTC or prescription.
See where I'm going?
As a parent we learn the facts before making a claim of,even, possible wrong-doing.
Good luck at the pharmacy.
Hope all goes well for you, and your son.
whatever..i dont care if anyone likes or judges my parenting skills, i never said my son did anything wrong, i just asked if anyone knew what it was...there is n number on it to take to the pharmacy, thats why i posted a pic of it hoping someone here would know

"(Ghost) Riders In The Sky"
An old cowboy went ridin out one dark and windy day
Upon a ridge he rested as he went along his way
When all at once a mighty herd of red-eyed cows he saw
Plowin through the ragged skies and up a cloudy draw
Their brands were still on fire and their hooves were made of steel
Their horns were black and shiny and their hot breath he could feel
A bolt of fear went through him as they thundered through the sky
For he saw the riders comin hard and he heard their mournful cries
Yippie I ohhh ohh ohh
Yippie I aye ye ye
Ghost riders in the sky
Their faces gaunt, their eyes were blurred
Their shirts all soaked with sweat
He's ridin hard to catch that herd
But he ain't caught em yet
Cause they got to ride forever in that range up in the sky
On horses snortin fire as they ride on hear their cries
As the riders loped on by him he heard one call his name
'If you wanna save your soul from hell a-ridin on our range
Then cowboy change your ways today or with us you will ride
Tryin to catch the devil's herd across these endless skies
Yippie I ohhh oh oh
Yippie I aye ye ye
Ghost riders in the sky
Ghost riders in the sky
Ghost riders in the sky

Friends in Low Places
Written by: Dewayne Blackwell, Bud Lee
FIRST APPEARED ON
ALSO APPEARES ON
Blame it all on my roots
I showed up in boots
And ruined your black tie affair
The last one to know
The last one to show
I was the last one
You thought you'd see there
And I saw the surprise
And the fear in his eyes
When I took his glass of champagne
And I toasted you
Said, honey, we may be through
But you'll never hear me complain
'Cause I've got friends in low places
Where the whiskey drowns
And the beer chases my blues away
And I'll be okay
I'm not big on social graces
Think I'll slip on down to the oasis
Oh, I've got friends in low places
Well, I guess I was wrong
I just don't belong
But then, I've been there before
Everything's all right
I'll just say goodnight
And I'll show myself to the door
Hey, I didn't mean
To cause a big scene
Just give me an hour and then
Well, I'll be as high
As that ivory tower
That you're livin' in
'Cause I've got friends in low places
Where the whiskey drowns
And the beer chases my blues away
And I'll be okay
I'm not big on social graces
Think I'll slip on down to the oasis
Oh, I've got friends in low places
3rd Verse:
I guess I was wrong
I just don't belong
But then, I've been there before
And everything is alright
I'll just say goodnight
And I'll show myself to the door
I didn't mean to cause a big scene
Just wait 'til I finish this glass
Then sweet little lady
I'll head back to the bar
And you can kiss my ass

Cut right to the chase, didn't you Sorp?
E, you are a mother that isn't hiding behind "My Kid Didn't Do That" syndrome. You are highly in tuned to what the kids face every day and are correct to question this matter. I don't blame you because I'd want to know what the capsule was. Then once you get the facts you are better prepared to deal with the matter. We had peer pressure when we were that age, but it was nothing compared to what our kids face now. Not only do kids have a "it can't happen to me", they are geared by social media as well as one on one. So, get your info together and go from here. Even if not your sons personal property, it came from someone he is running with and that spells trouble as you already know. Good Luck.
Have you tried to google the numbers on the capsule? That may give you an idea.

OOPS, sorry but somehow I thought I read that there was. Just my head not screwed on very well.
By all means take it to the pharmacy. They may not be able to specifically identify but by the coloring, they could give you some clues.

Quote from "The Christian Left" group on Facebook:
So we're hearing it spoken more and more as if it's just a thing that's going to happen now. Paul Ryan is going to inform Trump that if he wants certain things he's going to have to go along with privatizing Medicare and partially privatizing Social Security.
That means hand them over to Wall Street to manage. Hope someone is paying attention. This can't happen. The Senate Dems have to block every attempt. The American people need to speak up now and not stop speaking up.

I ponder the stupidity in America...
Buyer’s Remorse Is Coming for Trump Fans: Trump Likely Won’t Give You a Damn Thing He Campaigned On
November 14, 2016
The low-information voters, racists, and homophobes who voted for Trump have had a fantastic week gloating over their “victory” in this past week’s presidential election. Keep gloating, folks: if you think for one second that Donald Trump is going to follow through with all of his grandiose campaign promises, think again.
In fact, he’s backpedaling on some of his supporters’ pet issues, and despite the sad fact that the GOP controls both Houses of Congress, he’s already facing detractors and potential opposition from members of his own party.
One thing that is now patently obvious: all of those who voted for Trump because he’s a “political outsider” have been played for chumps. Based on his short list for Cabinet positions, Trump is the ultimate “insider” – and his Administration will make Tammany Hall look like a paragon of honest politics.
Choices for Treasury Secretary include former former Goldman-Sachs executive Steven Mnuchin and JP Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon. Those choices are a reflection of his intention of dismantling Dodd-Frank, allowing Wall Street banksters to once again engage in the type of casino gambling that led to the Crash of 2008 and subsequent taxpayer-funded bailout. Get ready for a replay.
Candidates for Secretary of Health and Human Services include Florida Governor Rick Scott and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, both of whom have made no secret of their contempt for the poor.
Oh – and remember the fiasco that was “No Child Left Behind”? His top pick for Secretary of Education is Williamson Evers, who served under George W. Bush. Looks like our kids are going to be subject to pointless and expensive testing once more while actual learning goes out the window.
At the same time, one of Trump’s picks for Secretary of Agriculture is Sid Miller, who has pushed for junk food in public schools. We will all mourn for First Lady Michelle Obama as once again, ketchup will be considered a vegetable.
And by the way, all of you who like the great outdoors and enjoy visiting our National Parks – Trump’s pick for Secretary of the Interior is no less an august personage than Sarah “Drill, Baby Drill” Palin. We don’t have to tell you what that could mean.
This leads us to Trump’s energy policy. As someone who considers global climate change to be a “myth,” the President-elect plans to pack the Department of Energy with high-powered executives from the fossil fuel industry, starting with fracking magnate Harold Hamm for Secretary. Hamm is calling on Trump to slash all regulations on oil and gas production while Trump himself has announced his plans to dismantle the EPA.
Get ready for a sicker and more polluted world. One would think Trump’s kids don’t have to breathe the same air the rest of of do.
On the subject of illness, Trump supporters and GOP leadership has been salivating at the opportunity to repeal the Affordable Care Act, which their candidate declared he would throw out completely. This has caused a great deal of fear among the many whose very lives depend on Obamacare.
Well, now it turns out that Trump actually likes parts of the ACA and may compromise. His change of heart may have to do with a long conversation with President Obama himself, as well as the social, economic and political repercussions that will surely result from a repeal. His flip will most certainly bring him into conflict with Congressional Republicans who want to see it eliminated – that is, unless he changes his mind yet again.
And what about his promises to deport all those “illegals” and force Mexico to build a wall along its northern border? Unfortunately for Trump, there are some serious legal, economic and logistical obstacles standing in the way of that agenda – as well as opposition from GOP moderates.
When it becomes patently obvious that Trump’s mouth has written checks his body can’t cash, those who supported and voted for him will surely turn on him as rabidly as they opposed Hillary Clinton.
We’re in for a rough ride for the next few years – there’s little doubt of that. But it’s going to be just as rough for Trump and his misguided and delusional supporters. We Progressives stand to lose a great deal of what we’ve won under the Obama Administration these past eight years, and we have a hell of a fight in front of us to hold on – but the good news is, we may have a lot of help in that fight from Trump’s own party and his followers once they realize they’ve been sold a bill of goods by a billionaire con man.
