I just saw on line a new wagon..09 Ford Taurus. Not bad. There was a Focus too. So wagons are still made? How come I never have seen any new wagons?

I know of a guy around here that has 3 of those huge, behemoth Buick Roadmaster wagons. From the 90s I think. They are damn nice cars.

Buick Roadmaster anything were the fanciest cars next to Cadi. 56 two doors....wagons. Land yachts. I just cant figure out why todays car mfgs. think electronics is the only cool thing for a car. How about chrome, leather, space, hand grips, carpeting and SIZE!!! If people buy SUVs, trucks and vans..why wouldnt they buy station wagons and "boats".

Let's play name that car???? That's what a friend posted on FB and I don't think he really wanted an answer but I took a stab at a guess and after I did others started to guess. Of course I'm not car person so I figured I would ask the experts.
My guess is a '90s to mid '90's, Chevrolet Lumina ...... which I've dubbed El Lumina.
We don't know the answer officially as my son's friend posted the pic on FB and I guess he saw it in a parking lot somewhere.
Anyone???

Even with all the harsh reality of the "EL Camino wanna be" the person who untook this project has some imagination, and made it work. Imagine what junk I could haul to the flea market booth in the back of that.

A 2000 Mixed up. My tenants are hauling all the stuff out of the attic and up to the barn for me to sort. Boxes of hot rod mags up the ying yang. All out of the late 60s early 70s. And Popular Science and Popular Mechanics. All will go up for sale after perusing. Fun to read the cover...stats on your NEW 70s car. The newest tech. Like a cassette radio. Also found some bits of cars. Mustang hood emblem. Huh???? I must have picked it up at a scrap yard cause I liked horses. Ignition cover, tubes, keys and ???? Amazing what gets stuffed into boxes that go into attics.

I haven't even touched my old '65 GTO convertible that I gave my son. He wants me to have it back. An old friend called yesterday and asked about the car He has known I've had it 30 years. Now he wants to buy it as it sits and I don't have to do anything to it. I forgot that I bought my son a new gas tank and he installed it but it has old gas in it. It should clean up easily. The 3 carbs have been rebuilt, re-installed and never fired, so no bad gas in them. My friend wants me to let him look at the car tomorrow. He just needs to know that if I sell it, it will NOT be wholesale/fire sale price.

I luv the jerks who low ball you. Hey...we are friends. Like dad said always...am I your friend? Loan me ten. That's the end! I researched the mags on ebay and on line. Seems individual mags can go for $5. And in lots..2-3 each. So I will post on Craigs choice for $5. And then sell the rest off in a lot for whatever I can get. Some are cool that have ways to build hot rods. Or tech tips for your carbs or to patch a radiator. How to tune your points and trouble shoot that floor cap master.

Is there a car under the engine? I have been sorting car mags. And sneezing and getting a headache from old paper and aggravation. Now where is the 1970 stack..the Jan issue for Hot Rod 1966. So this is Cars and this is High Performance Cars? And is there any use to keep the JC Whitneys from the 70s? The barn is emptying and my hall is not!
It never fails....Joe was up..has ANOTHER car guy funeral Friday. Getting low on buds fast. I said Taste of Dells is Saturday so that is my plan. He calls to let me know he is home..and saw a Camaro..uh...and remembers the Power Tour leaves Madison SATURDAY too. So?????Now what....Taste is yearly can pass on that... Come up Fri night or????

Joe called. Weaver delivered the Harley golf cart this am. He has it running..just old gas/oil is problem. Says the tires had to be taken off the rims to re-bead to hold but nice shape. Little damage to fiberglass nose but otherwise nice shape. He said maybe it needs paint. I said go for it. He has tons of paints from Lyman. His brother gave it all to Joe. He said the canopy is OK, but home made. And bad around trees. I said so one is careful with a truck in the woods, why not the cart. So now I can ride around the spread in style. $500 for a 1k cart is a good deal. Nice to know people.

It is a two cycle gas engine. He said it is running well. fiberglass has breakage but easy to fix. Trailer hitch so I can pull my big lawn cart. Has a forward gear and reverse gear. Step on gas and it starts and goes. Off and it kills. No idle..common way for golf carts. We expected Weaver would ask a grand. He has a bug up his and wants stuff GONE! His family sold off the farm and each got like a million bucks or something. So he immediately went nuts and blew it. And now whines he is SOOOO broke and has to sell stuff. Have to luv idiots dont cha!?
Joe is at the Power Tour. Some cars there that are cool but not that much really. They head off tomorrow in the rain. My husband nephew said he was riding with a buddy. See how long he could go in the back of a classic Mustang til he gave up and took the bus home.

- Haha - No Jade, That was here in Detroit. I had to get some parts for the bike and they had some different concept bikes - I really didn't care for the "BIG" front wheel. I didn't measure it but I bet it was 36 inches or more! Doubt it would steer good either (Unless you only went straight)!
- Beautiful day today, Nice and sunny!

The top two, "Rhinestone Cowboy" comes to mind. You can bet they trailer to Bike Week. All for show ......... which I guess if that's what you're into, that's all well and good. I DON't like the low profile tires on the back either. Now #3 .... that is more to my liking ... I'm a little more traditional. Funny I'm more the classic style then the custom. Once in awhile there will be a custom job I really like. But never enough to do so on my bike.
It's always fun to get out and check out the bikes thought. Looks like you had a nice time.

Different strokes for different folks. And you did say concept bikes. The tall front tire makes the trikes look smaller than a normal trike. Looks as the top one has a sporty motor, the middle a Kawa, but hard to tell. Thanks for sharing.

I pick #2. Sleek and comfy looking.
Joe said he and brother went to the Power Tour. Cars were all in the sun in parking lot. Cost $7 to enter to look. He took his truck and brother his coupe Pontiac just to run them before the haul to the 50s. Lots of cars but lots of newer ones. Maybe a 1000. I said they are ALL doing the tour? He said it grows yearly so many probably are. The nice part of it is that people can do one day and then go home. Not all do the entire states run planned for the year.
He got home by 2 he texted. And then called later..they had driven over to the main drag and set up chairs to sit and watch traffic. A couple other gearheads found them and parked to sit also. And they sat til 11PM. He said it got cold..friends had blankets and sweats. I said as a biker I learned long ago what happens in spring and fall when sun goes down.
He said there were cars cruising. He said my ADHD would never have left me sit that many hours. For sure!!!
I did see one car in the Dells...NICE..big land cruiser Buick 4 hole convert..in the mid 70s.

Anyone want hot rod mags from 59-74? I see prices on individual ones range around $5 each. Some are worth $2 or $3. I see prices on ebay that I think...and who the hell do you think is going to pay that!!!?? I have bags and bags sorted finally. And why do I have 2 or 3 of some???? Found the first Popular Hot Rodding. Cool! It doesnt even have a month. Just says number 1. The year is inside. I think it was made as a one time shot. And then the interest got them going on a monthly. It ended in 2014. Same as Rod and Custom. GRRRRR. I do NOT buy magazines about 2002 fart poppers! I am going to post the #1 on craigs for $50 or OB and see what happens. You can always go down but cant go up.
Guy wants to come tonight and look at the 65 GMC truck. Cross fingers. Should find the title just for halibut.

Bubby ........ MC took some pics today on his adventured and thought you would like this. The other pictures are in the Amish thread..
United States Navy, 1985–1995
The Grayfox started life in 1985 as a 120-foot Torpedo Weapons Retriever, one of ten. She was assigned to the United States Navy's Atlantic Undersea Testing and Evaluation Center (AUTEC), Andros Island, Bahamas, where her job was to launch and retrieve test torpedoes and targets. Eventually, as torpedoes became less of a threat, the Navy decided to mothball her in 1995. She was then sent to Green Cove Springs, Florida, where a group of sponsors found her and decided the Sea Cadets needed their own ship to train on. The Secretary of the Navy transferred the USNS Grayfox to the USNSCC on August 15, 1997.
More detail.

He sent me a pic. Not finned like 57 Chevy but sides go from fin to front. He showed up and handed me the cash. No quibbling even. And is interested in the 63 Impala as soon as he gets funds. I will miss that old Apache sitting there. But, added cash to my headstone fund. And at least it will have a chance to live again..more than with me.

Can't say I have seen the boat with fins like that.
The fins that I'm talking about went "up" on the boat like the old 60s Cadillac.

That is more the way his boat looks. I hate to see the 59 go. Pretty style. The 63 is not an SS. The dog legs are gone, but all chrome and stuff is on it, plus.
I figured it out..owned the 59 for 33 years. No wonder there will be a hole in the line! And the profit I made works out to 4% per year. Now why did we not invest in cars instead of banks????
I told Joe wish we had bought more to store. He said he wishes he had been like Tony. And paid more for better to sell higher. I said but, we didn't have the cash back then to speculate. And who would have imagined these prices. If we bought cheap and made profit..good thing. If we took a bath..oh well..not out that much. He said he always had the money..just never spent it. But, we both get ticked at Tony. He buys a dream car..great deal..this one is a keeper. And two weeks later...it is sold off. Fast turn over is his style. I cant do that. If I buy it is cause I like and want. A sale is good only to buy something you like better. And I dont see any I want more than what I have. Maybe in addition to.....
Bad part is I think the purchase amount back then bought more than the sell amount does today.

Several years ago I bought a 61 Chevy Apache. Straight 6, step side bed. Fire truck red, with white trim. Drove it about 2 yrs. Then tranny time. Sold it to a mechanic who wanted to completely restore it. To me it wasn't the prettiest style of truck. But, still neat in its on way.

I like this one. Go figure. Owned it? He needs a rim and will swap me the emblems back. WT? He said cheaper to buy new ones than restore. Good. I will swap.
