Crashed early and slept deeply in spite of a loud party next door. After the work out on the house with the help my tail was dragging.
My back and right arm and hand need a rest after scrubbing doors, door frames, window frames, base boards..etc. It is tough to catch up when you get behind on house work and your domestic workers only does a fast surface run through on home.
Think the Help regrets I can see clearly now.

Okay, my whine is over and my cup is empty. Time for a refill and a trip to the back porch to wake up the birds.

Grouchy to the max this morning. Worked hard yesterday cleaning my garage, washing and waxing the car. Tired to the bone when I finally dropped in bed. Temperature so mild I had the windows open. About 2 Am sirens went screaming down the road and woke me. Then around 4 AM the danged smoke alarm beeped. Half hour later beeped again. Battery needs changing. Now why in the heck does it always wait until the wee house of the morning to give the warning?

OK, at least I can say it just beeped instead of screaming so house wasn't on fire. Now that the coffee is kicking in I feel somewhat better.

Enjoyed the gospel message for today and also treating myself with sausage gravy biscuits and a hot fresh cinnamon biscuit from Hardy's. Added red pepper to the gravy and feasted to satisfy my spicy craving attack without cooking something up. Yummy!

Gosh... Sankie...glad we are not itching like hounds....just dragging around from being tired is bad enough.

My recommendation is Benadryl itch stopping Gel...extra strength itch relief. It works the best for me.

Hope those bites clear up fast Back. Darn mosquitoes are scary carriers of disease so lather up in mosquito repellent before going outside to do chores.

Think I need another cup of coffee already. getting drowsy being lazy.

Today would have been my folk's 74th wedding anniversary. They got married before my dad got shipped out with the Army Air Force in WWII.....

I miss them. Mom would have been 93 now and Dad 98.....

Bub...the same thoughts went through my mind the other day. This September my parents would have celebrated their 75 th. Such a tough time to start a marriage. Daddy was shipped out also in the Army. Later Mother got to join him in Anniston, AL at Ft Mc Celland. He was a mail clerk and they couldxnot send him into combat because of flat feet...that they just happened to discover after boot camp.
I could sit and listen for hours with them telling us things that happened and went on during those times.
Yes...we miss and love them forever and their spirit and love are with us.

I just read the filthy crap that the pig gardenguy68 had to say about our beloved JoAngel in the 50's oral thread. I have never read such crap before and I can't see why that pig is not in DH jail or kicked off. I flagged every off color, nasty post he posted.
What a colossal pig. I was offended by his comments here, but he really let it rip in the 50's. I hope more of our 60's folks go there and flag his crap as well.

Pretty sad. His parents failed miserably at teaching him any manners, especially toward women.

I apologize to Miss Jo on behalf of all guys here in the 60's for the abuse heaped on her pretty head in the 50's. It is disgusting.

Off my soapbox...

Yep, I blasted his a** in the thread and now he has his white trash 'ho's' messaging me about I am nothing, he is everything, he is 100 times the man I am....I replied that I would love to find that out for real and I would make quick work of stomping his scrawny little ass. I told her not to contact me again, but she did. I then told her if she could stick up for him after what he posted to Miss Jo, she is no better than he and nothing but white trash. She is now blocked.

Just checked that out. He claims to be an Electrical Contractor in NC. Wish he was one in RI. I would love to inspect one of his jobs.

Anyone in business should be above what he is saying on the media. maybe he was an Electrical Contractor and lost the business

Gayle, it happens to the best of us! some days I miss my mouth and get a shirt full.

Need a few items from the grocery store. Guess I will travel to the big super store for exercise. End of the month so just perhaps it will not be a large crowd.

Stay safe everyone...

By the way to the men above....The foul mouth is blocked by me. He cannot enter this thread. Special thanks Bub, Laff and Sparkie for standing up for the ladies. You all are the REAL Gentlemen!

A daiquiri never hurts...
They taste good and certainly helpful for relaxation.

Fish, sorry you are not up to par yet. Rest and give your medicine time to kill the infection. Try several spoons of the Lugi's Italian lemon ice through out the day and before bed time to hold down the bacteria and sooth your throat. It works wonders. I am truly amazed with how much it helps me daily.

My clear predicted day has ended up with two thunder storms and two down pours. A great way to squeeze in a hour nap so that was good.

Good night....I am still sleepy...

No grouch yet, but it's still early. Friend wants to go see the movie MAX this afternoon so hope it's worth the time.

Sort of stunned this AM to see the news. This guy went to Walmart and ordered a cake with the Confederate flag. They refused to make it. He went back and ordered a cake with ISIS flag and they made it. Now he's on You Tube with it. Walmart has apologized and said it was unfair to the bakery clerk to have been taken advantage of like that because she wasn't aware of what it represented. Now what kind of hell will be started over this?

My thoughts on crazy person who spews with a foul mouth. The only thing he knows about electricity is that his brain has all the wires crossed. He's had an electric surge somewhere along the way that fried every circut. Or perhaps his mother just dropped an iron on his head while he was playing beneath her ironing board. Then there's the old mountain folks explanation for the idiot child. "Got kicked in the head by a mule".

Yes, I had another man come over and he is also working up an estimate. It is a 31/2 ton heat pump...Trane xR14 for that quote...10 yr parts 10 yr compressor and 1 yr labor.... Warranty. Know as a 14 Seer rating warranty. ....and that is suppose to be a special promotional offer. I have had excellent service and several favors from this company. They replaced the compressor three yrs ago and it was no charge. Couple of relays went out...no charge...but keeps losing freon slowly....inside coils are 12 yrs old now, rusty and replacing would cost over $2000. Was told the average life on a heat pump is about ten years. It is cooling good right now but comes on often. Something certainly ran my power bill up. $209.00 for May's services.

This past fall had my forced air heat and new A/C unit replaced for 6,000 now waiting for a rebate from the power co for 500.

You say they did all that work for free. Just think how a company could stay in business by giving material and labor free.

Watch out get another estimate.

Duct work is already in place. Sounds as if they are trying to charge new construction prices. Shouldn't have to pay over $1,400 per ton. 14 X 3.5 = $4,900.

Yes, I am getting another estimate but I am not familiar with brand names. In the past years, we always used a Trane.

Shar I hope you can get a good price that works for you, its outrageous the amounts they charge!

Quote from oh_lydia:
Strawberry Daiquiri ... sounds good.

Kind of like dessert

Why is it I can never remember which is the food (dessert) and which is the sand (desert) I always have to google it

Man was I ever off ......

Y'all KNOW I'm a poor speller.... We were talking about Daiquiri's and they you go into desserts ... so when you said SAND desert/dessert... I was thinking a "fruit dessert you drink while at the beach... "sandy beach dessert" ..

My mind went sand ... beach ... fruity dessert/desert = Pina Colada, fruit daiquiri's .....

Hey what did you expect when I made a tall slushy cold fruity daiquiri when I got home from work.

Never crossed my mind the dessert vs desert spelling.

Grouch ....... why on earth does the "Events Committee" send out announcements at the end of the day about a salad luncheon tomorrow and mention "bring something if you would like to share"??? I don't always have food in the house so I can just "whip something up". I like to participate but I also like to plan in advance because I usually make something from scratch. Well I guess not this time.

oh well ...... ok grouch over .......

Good luck Sheza on throwing something together. A cracker tray or relish tray could be a quicky that would go with salad's.

Was a restless night for me. Guess too many unknowns floating around in my head. Seems I couldn't keep my legs still....perhaps it was restless legs syndrome.

A cloudy 76° morning with a 87% humidity factor. Possible scattered storms once again. Hope it doesn't bring another one of those dangerous lightening storms again. That stuff is scary.

Mid week Wednesday.... make it a good day.

Sharsea ........ nope, I did not throw anything together nor did I venture out into the Monsoon last night to go to the store. I honestly do not have on hand things to whip up a dish worth taking to a gathering. I don't cook like I use to so have very little laying around. AND if I have things stashed to make dessert stuff I'll crack under pressure and make it and then eat more than I should. Last year I went through and realized how much food ends up expiring and I tossed out WAY too much food ... so now I don't keep much around and too I don't have people over much enough to keep things.

ShezaScrooge is off to work ~

Thinking any grouch I have today would just be whinning because it isn't equal to what Shar and Fishy are dealing with. Keeping my fingers crossed that I don't have those problems.

Fishy, my AC kicked on last summer and wouldn't kick off. Ran and ran. I was thinking it must be heating up, so I hit the breaker to cut it off, called the repair man and he could probably tell little white web behind the switch. Cost $65 for the service trip.
Wow was I lucky.

Also, same repair man checked a friends AC. Her's kept kicking the breaker. He pulled the flush line and blew it out with air. Was so full of algae that it couldn't drain.

Better day is wished for everyone.

Reason I stick to window AC. Toss and replace cheap. The way this year is going, may not put LR in at all again. Never did last year. Run BR awhile and does enough. Cool summer. Some one want to kick me and get me going?

Orz, you can get by with this in your climate. Some summers I could probably get by with it here but sure wouldn't want to try it farther south.

No...not this heat and thick air. It drain me to get out to go anywhere.
Then this year the thunderstorms and rain has been relentless. Another good blow is building and will be firing up over me soon.

Not heard back from the other guy that was to work me up a price. I dislike waiting! I want the estimates so I can make a de cision and get it over with.

Stay safe if anyone is having bad weather. Seems it is wide spread.

That's OK, I slept in late today but I was up in the middle of the night closing windows against the storm.....course I shoulda' closed them before I went to bed...... I fell asleep before I did much of anything cause of the Bloody Mary ..........why, come to think about it I don't think I finished my prayers, I don't remember saying amen....wonder if it is too late to finish them now? After all it is 4 pm.

What was the question???

The wind was going crazy and now it is dead still. 88° & feels like 99°… we are under a severe thunderstorm warning currently.

TOM....Saw the storms on the Weather channel for AL too. Been some rocky weather here lately.

AMEN!!!! For Gayle.
