Well Star if that were the case, I would truly be on my way to MN with a double handful..

Thanks Bub and to all for your reaching out and sharing this strength I feel right now.
Guess perhaps it is the calm before the storm so I am enjoying my visit with my daughter while she is here.
We are meeting family and friends at 5:00 for a Pizza Party I arranged at Silicy's. This will be an enjoyable time if the good Lord's willing and the creek don't rise.

I would say the lung cancer you BEAT was way worse than a lump.Do not let ANY Doctor who thinks they are god do anything without a second or THIRD opinion. When husband got cancer, I was horrified. And then found out cancer is not an automatic death sentence these days. I knew a neighbor who had a double mastectomy back in the 70s or before. When treatment was cut and not much more. And she died..last year at 90! And never had anything else wrong in all those DECADES!
Joe knows a gal who got liver cancer back...40 years ago. And then got another cancer. And know has been being treated for pancreatic cancer for over 10 years. And the limit on that type is a MAX of 5 years. She is riddled with cancer. They keep up chemo and radiation and knock it back to remission. So..you have a contained lump and gone and DONE. Or maybe more and need chemo. And it will be GONE AND DONE! This is 2015 not 1972, gal!

Good points Orz! Cancer is not a death sentence and I am a walking testimonial.
I had my left upper lobe of the lung removed in 1997. Last year I had a wedge removed from my right lower lung. Now this time it is invasive carcinoma that is what 85% of people have with breast cancer.
In each instance, it has been a different type of cancer. Puzzling!
The past was cutting it out and that was it. Now six weeks of radiation five days a week and chemo to follow is not anything anyone can look forward to but in order to survive it is a must.
I am a tough ol'bird (hen) and pray to fight it to the end.

Had a lovely dinner and visit with the crew. Most likely will have the little princess tomorrow.
we're going to cook, play and have tea parties to our hearts content.
With that in mind, I am ready to hit the sack.

My ex has liver cancer. He had colon cancer, had chemo. The chemo killed the colon cancer.
The doctor cut out half of his liver to remove cancer there. He is healing. They need to check him again because there is also cancer in his remaining liver .It is running through a vein in his liver. He doesn't want any more chemo. It caused him to get a blood clot next to
his heart. Now he can hardly breathe and exhausted very easily. He's 6'2". The
chemo got him down to 137lbs. He is back up to about 160lbs now.Yes he lives with me .
He gets on DHU too. He is looking but says he doesn't know what he could do with
Anyone.
He sleeps in his bedroom and I in mine.

My husband got MS at 39. I had read that people with it rarely have other health issues. Yeah. Right. He got a bad gall bladder and had that surgery. Then he got tonsil cancer and got through that. Then he had prostate and when checking on that found stage one bladder cancer. Got through that and was going on 10 years past when the MS shut down his breathing and he died. But the cancer didnt do it. The gal Joe knows is a walking disaster with one different cancer after the other since she was in her 30s. He said now she has to have a second port put in to add another chemo. And she just keeps "on ticking". Medicine HAS advanced.

Have had my chains jerked by nearly everyone I know today. Planned on a nice day and doing whatever I wanted but that didn't pan out. Son came by to mow the yard. UM MOM, that peach tree needs trimming so I can get the lawnmower around it without it knocking my head off. SO OK, here I go with the pruners to do as instructed.

Friend stops by complaining over trouble tenants in her duplex. Sorry, but you've known they are trouble for over a year now so either put up with them or put them out.

Another friend calls and is the third day after a chemo treatment. Wiped out and absolutely no energy. Wish there was something he could do because it was such a beautiful day. My Question was "do you need me to do something for you?" Answer was NO so guess he just wanted someone to know his misery today. Not sick but just crashed from blood cell count dropping.

OK, I've got my grouch in so will get on with my day.

Lol...Back...yes, I made the Mexican cornbread to go with the down home cooking, as my daughter calls it. Certainly not G.Bear's which looked great for a good laugh.lol...lol.

Fish, it will not take you long to get back into the groove but know after being off it is a dread having to get on the work schedule again.

Time for Blueberry Pancake as promised. One of these days I am going to learn to shut my mouth.

My only grouch is I'm so tired if I were a dog and could bend my knees my button would be dragging the floor.

With a seven year old there is not many lax moments. She just left and I sunk into the sofa.

We still have 100% humidity but we did not have anymore rain since early this morning.
Hot...but still cooler than it has been this summer.

Good luck tomorrow, Fish. Hope the rain in your area will move our way. We need more to cleanse the air and water the lawn.

Greetings to all on this cloudy damp Monday morning!

The coffee is ready and having my third cup and watching the latest news and weather. This is the dreaded time if the year when the tropics start kicking up. A few tropical waves are rolling off the coast of AFRICA. Pray we will be spared another Camille, Aug. 17, 1969, or a Katrina, Aug. 26, 2005. Hurricanes are devastating monsters.

Wishing all a great productive week with lots of smiles and laughter.

Good morning to all.

Fish...I can relate to tired feet and being drained of energy. Seems every day it is things that must be done and have been pushing myself to get through the days. I need a do nothing day where I can crash!

That's my whine for the day....I hope it is my last one.

Hope issues are resolved soon Star. It is sad seeing families having issues with settlements
and drawing apart instead of growing closer.

Pray all have a happy day!

Gal I know is getting a new mobile home in her brothers property so pops can come live by the family. So yesterday the govt came and said they got a complaint about the old one there torn in half by the movers in prep for new. Said hazard for kids. And the situation is brother and sis in law have the house, she has trailer..down a gated long drive. hmmm...who complained. The sis in law!!WTH? Is she a b*tch or what? So now gal has to pay $500 for a dumpster so brother and nephew can tear the old one apart in a week to avoid a fine of $3000 for state to do it...and put freeze on gals SS bank account.
Man I hope the sis in law gets hit by a TANK!

A guy I know hired a track loader to dispose of an old trailer. He dug a large hole, then ran over the trailer and smashed it flat and pushed it over in the hole and covered it up.
$90 per hour with 5 hour minimum and he finished in less than 5 hours. $450 total.

Wicked Wednesday today. Hmmm, wonder what MS Gayle has up her sleeve???

Hearing the sound of drip, drip, drip. Guess the fall gales are starting early.

Have a fun day ahead and try to be safe out and about in our wild crazy world.

Hearing the sound of pop a top from my daughter opening a can of Coke. Yuk!!! I couldn't stand anything that sweet early in the morning. Too, being Mama, it worries me on the number she consumes daily with RA.....and then a handful of prescription drugs. I had to chuckle that she thinks she came down to HELP me.

What the heck with the government getting in on someone moving an old trailer? Now is that any of their concern? Good way to get rid of it is toss a match during a thunderstorm, or call the fire department to see if they want to use it for fire fighting practice.

Some just look for things so they can get into anothers business.

OK, so I grouch over someone else's dilemna today. Hate the dog trot was smashed by the tree. Trouble doesn't ever really go far.

Moving kinda slow today' and so are the kindle. Ran both batteries out as well by not charging either last night.

Several errands today. Then a treat at my favorite Italian restaurant, Salutes. I may partake in a glass of wine just to help me enjoy and afternoon nap.

Amen....my b*tch of the week. One refinery gets zapped and gas all over the US goes up by at least 20 cents a gallon. All our gas up here is refined up here and a big chunk of it is Canadian crude or North Dakota crude. We could give a crap less about Houston oil. Burns my fat white azz.

Gas also goes up for consumer needs and services too...it's passed onto us as you all know...food has to get to supermarket and they pass that to us/ when it came down prices didnt fall accordingly ...a locksmith for example has to tack on higher costs to us too to get to us...damn gas is like gold...It's like $2.15 by me worse everywhere else but tomorrow is Friday it may get higher or it may not...as long as those refining areas off the NJ turnpike stay safe...but i agree with bub something happening far away has a domino effect usually on everyone...Fuhgeddabouit

Wednesday, I saw Sam's gas was $2.09 per gallons. Wonder if they jumped up at the same excuse later.
Pure craziness in the world now days.

Hear folks speaking about an early fall and heavy winter again. We may have 78° in the early morning hours but mid 90's and 100% humidity is HOT. I had to be in and out of the car yesterday and it was tough. My daughter is here visiting from OR and is miserable when she goes with me somewhere in this heat.
They have encounter less rain and high temperatures this year without high humidity and she is okay. She had forgotten how brutal it can be here during August.

Enjoy this TGIF Day!

Grumpy because I have no reason to be grumpy in the first place which makes me more grumpy.

Just grumpy today over something I absolutely have no control over, but it has given me a heavy heart. So....what did I do? Grabbed the push mower and went to work. At least now I can feel sorry for myself (because my legs are tired).

Gas prices? Well it is getting onto Labor Day so they're fixing it to jump another twenty cents by then. Sort of sneaking up on the higher price for the holiday. Happens every time.

We finally had a nice thirty minute shower without storming. Since it felt like 103° this afternoon, I figured t would be plenty of lightening. It was only a steady rain but I did hear thunder in the distance.

Glad the lawn was mowed at 7 AM. It looks nice and fresh now.

Sheza, hope your grumpies were wiped out today and your weekend is a peaceful, restful and enjoyable.

Sankie, you are like the Energizer Bunny and never stop.
Hope your legs arenfeeling better and it is a pleasant weekend for you.
Sounds like you need a day on a creek bank or a lake fishing. Would love to join you.

Cheers for a happy weekend to all!

After the deluge of early last week, shellfish reopened today - had an order for a bushel of chowder hogs - easy - but liked the by catch better - 400 littlenecks - an extra hundred in the pocket ! ! Will be back in the same general area in the morning going after two bushel -

That's a whole lotta of picking up. Do you have to dig for them too?
This is something I know absolutely nothing about or experienced.

It's dripping light rain again. Don't know how long it will stay around. I managed to miss the local weather report.

sorry I havent been here today or yesterday I guess since its after midnight

was running late in morning, then got word that a friend passed away from lung cancer this morning. they gave him 6 months to live back in June but the way he was talking and acting I knew he wouldnt make the 6 months.. he was only 55. I just needed a time out to reflect. WHY oh WHY does bad things happen to good people???????
gentle soul of a person. I dedicated a song to him tonight, "Dust in the Wind"
because after all.. thats all we are. Look up the lyrics, it was just fitting in my eyes.

Gonna miss his kindness and humbleness....

Thanks ladies... we all knew it was coming and like I told my gal pal last night who was closer to him then I was, is that hes better off in heaven then the hell he was living with here on earth. We both seen his suffering, her more so than me.
