Curious ........ were you under the chicken soup section???
Had knocked into the isle several different flavors of chicken soups and tomato. I was under this low shelf reaching out trying to put cans in front of me. I could hear shouts in the store of "get down" then numerous shots would be fired. I hide, prayed and was terrified....Glad I woke up before I was discovered and killed.
....and guess where I have to go today. Grocery shopping!
Too many crazy people out doing crazy things and the news is full of it
Need to stop watching it.

They should, the Stop & Shop are in MA. Locate them on line and see.
Have a friend, he's 84, gets two weeks of food as they have a minimum. His two weeks wouldn't last me one. The fresh foods are better quality than in the store.

 Whew, I made it home safe and sound.
I did go to a different store though. Found myself in the soup isle and darn near ran to get out of it. kept a watchful eye for any shady appearing characters but no one had on a trench coat or a gun on them....that I could see.
Okay...to the kitchen I go to cook some veggies for the next few days and good ol'southern cornbread.

I remember as a kid there were 'ice houses' as we called them and they were a drive through. You drive up ask for anything, a gallon of milk, pack of cigarettes, six pack of beer and TP ...... they bring it right to the car window and you pay them and drive off.
ice house = is the same as a convenience store. It got it's name because back in the days when you would buy your block ice they started to offer up other grocery items to sale when you came to get your ice. I can still picture the sign.
... well darn, I did a search for a sign and can't find one. Trust me.

Very interesting... I had a dream years ago that puzzles me to this day. What do green dinosaurs symbolize? I was preparing a chicken to roast (in my dream) and all of a sudden a lot of little green dinosaurs came hopping out of it. The rest of the dream was in black and white.

Okay, Tom....This could become a new thread. Might be interesting to see what goes on in our heads.
I thought about the skeleton of birds/dino's and scientists comparisons theory.
Many times, puzzling facts linger and gets mixed up in my dreams.
I have never had a black and white dream. Colors always seems remarkably brilliant standing out in my memory when the dream is recalled.
I keep having dreams of older houses and me exploring the rooms climbing higher to different floors. Interesting that different people I know get into the dream. Not scary dreams but make me wonder why I go from room to room letting my imagination ponder about each little detail present.
Perhaps I need a dream catcher....

Dreams bother me if they are filled with crazy mixed up drama or frightening.
Guess knowing I had to go grocery shopping and a guy recently walked into a Wal-Mart with a shot gun. They could not arrest him since a sign was not displayed...No Firearms Allowed.
He did not threaten anyone and no one knew his reason. Then also all the incidents of gun fired at schools, malls and theater with people being killed makes you know we have too many mental unstable people out in the public......and you could be caught up in such an incident.
Guess my concerns turned into my own nightmare.
Oh...I had thought about having cold creamed Campell's Basil and Tomato soup for dinner that night.
So guess the mind put it together into a scary dream.

And at one time there were folks driving around with the gun racks in the back of the truck. I remember as a kid we had one.
A guy walking into a store with a shot gun just because he could, in these days is asinine.
How come when we daydream about a lover he doesn't show up in our dreams? oh wait, I did have Carl show up. I must have scared him off he's not been back.

I never voiced it before but I have wondered why men seem to have erotic dreams but seldom have I ever heard this about women...nor dream about a lover. I have an unknown handsome man I have been hugged and kissed dream in a jungle like setting and he slowly fades away in the green foliage. I feel peaceful after that dream but it is not a passionate dream.

You may be correct about the Tarzen and Jane. One of the old time movies I watched in fascination as a pre teen. Whow! Impressionable for a young modest raised girl.

think I have a water leak somewhere, water bill says I used double the amount we are allowed, over 12,000 gal?????? I dont even use the dishwasher!!
thought I heard what sounded like running water but theres NO visible water any where!
so it must be under the house or their pipe running from street, going there to tomorrow to see if I can get water dept to come check their pipes, if its theres Im fighting this bill, if its mine, I need a plumber ASAP. so much for a vacation, looks like I may need some new pipes!!

That leak will be somewhere between the meter and the house.
Knowing there are no cellars in FL someone might have to crawl under the house. Now if you were still up here you could walk in the basement and check it out.

I'm not grouchy but I'm feeling a bit sad. I was really hoping to spend some time with my 11 and 12 year old grandchildren this summer only to find out that they're in Finland with their other grandparents for the entire summer

Lightening will affect and alter those meters I was told by a friend that worked in that department. I refuse to pay a $650.00 Bill. They changed the meter out for me upon my insistence too. Three neighbor stated I had not watered the yard, no wet spots, no swimming pools around or near me. I never got another such bill and I paid nothing.
Stand firm...they can even allow a hearing on the matter. Most that dispute such a jump in the bill can and will win.
Okay...no gripes from me. Only echo's thus far from me.

No sense in grouching because it would have to be with the big guy. The sky has opened up and dumped 5 inches of rain within a 24 hour period. Continuous storms, strong winds, and lightening strikes since 3 PM yesterday. A 500 mile area of flash flooding. So my grouch will be a prayer today. "Dear Lord, can't you push some of this west. They really need it out there".

Bad news.. it IS a pipe under the house!!!
Good news, the handyman who fixed my toilet and is CHEAP is going to come prepared to fix it 
Bad New.. He cant get here til tomorrow morning!!
Good news, at least I got someone to come out to fix it and I know he will be reasonable.
Bad news.. there goes my trip to the ocean! my summer check hasnt hit yet!!
Good news... Im still going come hell or high water (no pun intended) before I have to go back to work....... I HOPE!

water dept guy came out, showed me the numbers on the meter and how much water Im losing.. so I suggested he turn it off halfway to slow it down. he said, Oh yea I can do that.

One day I was in the basement. Huh? I hear drip........drip....drip. OK..I am in the basement..roof doesnt leak down here. Check the ceiling in pump room, nope, dry. Check heater and pipes. Argh! Stand and listen and track it to the crawl space. Sigh. Climb up, in and around. And there is the pipe to the tub. And it has a shut off drain. And the shut off is dripping. And has been. Oh ducky..change that out with 50 years of rust. Oh hell no. So went to town and bought a plug. Climbed back in and screwed the plug into the end of the shut off. FINE! End of drip. Never used that shut off in all the time of this house to drain line. And probable never will. Deal with it when and if! Dumbest thing humans do..lets lock up wiring and pipes inside walls and under floors.

Whow! Sorry Fish that this happened. What I hope is your next water bill is not sky high. I would have caught up water and said cut it off. Tomorrow when the guy comes to fix it, a lot of bucks are flying out the window this afternoon and through the night.
Gayle....love all those G's. Think I have lived them all too.
Orz...you hit the nail on the head with builders hiding stuff behind walls. One of my bathrooms has the shut off to the tub behind a wall to the side of the commode. AT one time, it was cut into and a sloppy job of sheet rock and mud cracked and needs repair. It is no room for a little door to it.
Jade are you still having car trouble?
I am taking a vacation day. Spoiled myself with a trip to the Nail Spa and had my hoofs and paws pampered. No trips planned so why not treat myself good sometimes.

It's just been a bad couple of weeks here. If it's not one thing, it's another. I sure wish I had a handyman There are things I want to do around the apartment that I just can't handle physically....like putting my a/c in my bedroom
I wanted it in the kitchen so that it would cool off the guest room for the kids as well as my room. Now that I won't be seeing the kids this summer, it would do a lot more good in my room.

I just cannot pass up a good sale there.

I had a gift card to Macys, saw a very cool 60s looking top.. told myself to wait til next weekend... then I thought... WHY??? It may be gone, its on sale and with gift card, ITS FREE you dummy... so I got it.
then went to Bealls outlet, found a nice top, forgot it was Sr Monday, 15% discount an I had $5 rewards coming to me, so I got that top for $8 ! I got lunch free with kid cus I had a gift card to DQ so we both ate free, got my eye glasses fixed, free, got my new piece for sleep machine, I will get that bill later.. ANDDDDDDDDDDD kid took me for ice cream later in day so FREE to me again!
that was yesterday, was so thrilled I had a perfect day and basically free... then I checked the mail and there was the water bill.......... it couldnt wait ONE More day and had to spoil every thing! 
today no grouches really.. not much I can do about it any way at this moment.

Fish, I ENJOY the thrill of a good bargain. I also take advantage of a discount if it is what I want at the time. Glad you had a fun time. We must be good to yourself from time to time.
Certainly know it lifts my spirit to treat myself with some pampering.
Good luck on resolving the bill issue. If they charge you a sewage bill by the number of gallons of water you use....they should at least knock that part off your bill. Our sewage bill is close to 2 1/2 times the water charge.
I do hope all have a good day and manage to cope with our ripples of troubles that fall in our paths.
Ready to reheat my coffee and ease into the day....

Sad to see the news of KY being hit hard with flooding, loss of life and property. My regrets, sympathy and prayers for their sufferings.

KY checking in this morning. So glad I'm in the Central part of the state. 60 miles east and WHAM, the troubles just get started. So many without homes today. More storms rolled through yesterday PM with more rain and wind. Those that escaped the day before was hit yesterday. Said water levels hadn't been that high in some areas in the last 30 years.
The rain is over for at least 4 days so perhaps it will help with the cleanup. Another problem is the area that has been hit so hard is short on temporary housing, motels, etc. so those people can't find a dry bed to sleep in. Governor is looking at the area and probably will claim it a disaster so will get Federal assistance. They need all they can get.
So....any grouch I have today would be whinning on my part in comparison to their troubles. On their behalf, thank you for your prayers.
