~ I came in on the tail end of the rolling hair with juice cans. My older sister did but by the time I reached the age that I was messing with my hair, I was ironing it not rolling it. Would actually lay it on the ironing board and iron it.

~ Straight, I was either 17 or 18.

Come on folks, there is that old picture of you that you can share with us??? What was your style at that age???

~ Connie ... yes it is your hair and now you can do with it WHATEVER you want !!!! Personally I think long hair is just as easy to keep on kids. I mean ponytail, pigtail doesn't take a whole lot of talent.

~ I HAD A FIRST this morning ...... A letter from a very interested admirer that said "God" told him in a dream after he had been praying that he was to get on the dating site to find his soul mate. ...... That's a new one and I've been here a long time.

Mom said I had very curly hair when little and would scream like a banshee when she brushed it. So.....she started braiding into pigtails. Hair kept growing until it reached my waist and the braids stripped all body it ever had. When in high school I chopped it off to have a hair style like the other girls. BAD MISTAKE. Stuck up like the wind in a roosters tail at the crown then flopped like a limp rag over the rest of my head.

Mom said she never knew anyone who hated having her hair brushed like me. She used to have to run me down, pin me between her knees and comb the rats out of it. I always had thin hair and it just hung as it did. I am not much different now. I have answered the door and after looked in the mirror and went..oh great! Forgot hair this am. Now I make it a habit to brush when I get up. Not that it lasts. Basic straight. Chickens dont care..nor the rest of the herd. Try to look good for town or Joe. Otherwise...I am the Mad woman of Shiloh!

Thanks for your post Miss Orz. Nice to see a real person in the far, right column. Most of the time it is a "phantom" poster, unknown because he is blocked by me and his incessant posts go on and on all friggin' day. I cannot see him, but he has so many different profiles, he can certainly see me and always reponds to my posts. How does he do that since I have him blocked? Oh, I know.....he is just so clever.

~ UGH ..... this Christmas has been so wishy-washy !!!!! But It's all ok we'll be blessed no mater the plans. What do they say, something about "it isn't what you have that makes you happy but being happy with with you have" ..... and that goes to with the fact not all family is around but so thankful and blessed for those that are and take the joy in it. ......... or somethin' like that...

Ok, that rambled on and hard to follow, sorry and I have not had a drink.

Point being ...... giving thanks and appreciate and have joy in what is, not what was or what is to come but now.

Great grand daughter, Sophia and her mom stayed overnight last night. Mom still sleeping, Sophia in "her bedroom" talking to herself, She is such a good child and would stay in her bedroom for hours if you let her. Sophia just turned 2 in November and is the love of my life.

Ok, time to wake her mama up.

Enjoying that 2nd cup of coffee, almost as good as the first one.

~ Just the facts Jack, this morning.

~ I really dislike when the full-moon is right before a holiday that family gather because then there are more family flair-ups than normal during a time when you especially would like there to be harmony. So if tempers are shorter than 'just' the holiday stresses try to be a little more patient even so.

Waiting to see if vet can make it out today. Doggy is well but on antibiotics. She is eating at least. If I hand feed her. Talk about lazy and spoiled. Oh well..she hands me my clothes and dresses me in morning so guess she earns it. Head into the Dells tomorrow..check out the mall there and b*tch about nutso prices. Then meet an old bro for supper at fancy supper club. Hey..not missing out a free meal, eh?
Went on line to Fredricks of Hollywood after a decade. Used to buy lots from Mr. F. When he died went down hill. Now..NOTHING but underwear. sigh... So check out Victorias Secret. Bras are running $76! WTH? ARE THEY NUTS! I can buy 3 coats on sale for that. BITE ME greedy jerks. Guess they have to pay for the show and ads. Not off me!

~ Orz ... I also still have some shopping to complete. I hope you are able to find what you are looking for. Hope the pup gets to feeling better.

~ My schedule over the holidays will be crazy but it's all good. The kids from San Antonio had been off and on again and finally they are 'on'. BUT during the time I thought it was off I had accepted the invite to go to NC ..... anyway, we'll all work it out.

~ Already had a headhunter contact me. He didn't read that I want to move to SA and offered me a job in this area. I guess that's par for the course there are going to be sand traps.

~ Whatever folks be safe, warm and dry and keep the spirit of Christmas in your hearts and don't allow folks to steal it.

OH......... on a side note. My sister sent me this t-shirt.

This is SO me!!!! I noticed how bright it is starting to get at night with the full moon approaching come Christmas.

Vet got into emergency surgery yesterday. Called by 5:30 and we decided too late. Was supposed to call him at noon and by 11:30 he called me..heading out. He even came with his helper. He said she has no fever, is in great visual shape and should have years ahead. He is puzzled. Said hopes blood tests show something. Only other thing he sees is to put her on Pulse Therapy which is basically what I am doing. On antibiotics, off, on. But change them. I am in conundrum. Rather have tests show nada than something wrong. Especially if the liver. So have the time to head to the Dells. I have not been in a "mall" for decades. See the lights. Anyone watch the Light Show contest on ABC. Man..talk about people who go overboard. Many displays are clever and pretty. But at the same time...OVERLOAD!

~ Orz ... I watched only a little bit of it. The one part I did see, yes, crazy.

~ Quiet evening, well, and day. Ended up coming home from work with a bad headache. I've never been diagnosed with migraines but I do wonder sometimes because once in awhile I get this particular one and it can really get to me as it did today. I've not had one like this one in I bet 3-4 years. Oh well, it will eventually pass. Beats the heck out of the alternative. Saw the ambulance come pick up my neighbor across the street. She has been in hospices care for a few months now. So, I'm good and I'm blessed. Just being a bit quiet right now.

I am an idiot but going to run into town today. Figure late the idiots will have raided wally world and doubt pet store and Ace will be packed. Take back an apple peeler to Goodwill. Works if all apples are hard and same size.
Vet came out, did blood work. Pup is low on sugar, hypogly, a bit high on white and nothing to put finger on. sigh... good news I guess. On anti another 10 days. He thinks could be low grade infection that knocks her down. I just wish I didnt have to fight with her to eat so much. No you can not live on chicken and tuna no matter how you like it more than $2 a CAN dog food or $15 a small bag chow!

Thank you to those wishing me a Merry Christmas ………. I do hope everyone had a Blessed Happy Holiday.

There was a time I actually owned a pair of bib overalls myself.

Well folks I had a very nice Christmas. Met my daughters boyfriends family and they were very welcoming and nice. I stayed at his folks house and got to know them even better and not just at the Christmas gathering and meal.

The weather has been unusually warm. Downright hot with people having to crank up the A/C. Traffic wasn’t too bad coming home yesterday. It’s only 1 ½ hours to and from their location. But it did tend to be costly as I’ve always wanted to stop by this Polish Pottery Outlet and they had 20% off and I picked up a few things for myself for Christmas. As I told my daughter I AM purging ~ I’m just making choices of things I REALLY want and getting rid of the rest.

Not fair..we arent that big of a group now...sigh. I ran into town yesterday afternoon. figured the idiots would race in early. Must have been right cause no busier than normal. I wanted purple Xmas lights. No go of course. All multi or clears. Picked up a few plastic ornaments to put outside in the twisted metal holders that had held torches. .49 and so what if the glitter falls off. I want to use glass candle holders or something like that and these will fill til then. Found a sequin top at Goodwill. I called in the am..they wont take back anything but clothes or electronics. So guess I am stuck with that apple peeler I thought might work. Yeah..if all the apples are hard and the same size. Oh well..now I know why it was there last week. At least it was $4.99 and I didnt pay the new price someone else got suckered into.
There is a new half grown kitten around now. Some other bastard must have dropped one off. Why do they think they can survive just cause there is a farm. The first one that is tame and I call Steamboat went after it. I was here first and you arent getting any food. It isnt bad enough barn cats breed like rats....I dont need cats that some jerk wanted when a cute kitten. And then boots out when it becomes work and isnt cute anymore. I should put up a sign on the road. Your cat will not find a happy home. It will be shot. And IF I see you dumping it..YOU will be shot!

Orz ... be sure and have it read "cats, dogs, and any other critter, Elly Mae don't live here!!!"

I made the mistake of stopping by a Polish Pottery outlet yesterday on my way home from NC. Ok maybe it wasn't a mistake I got a few pieces that I REALLY like but it did take a bite out of my pocketbook BUT hey I'm worth it!! And actually I partly picked out the design because I think when I'm gone my DIL will love having it. I need to start a journal of who I want to have what.

Am I the only one that does that, buy something thinking "one day my kids will have this and I think they would like it"?

Thanks, Sheeza

Appreciated, my friend.

It's alright by me. I don't care anymore. Life is too short to believe that anyone but yourself controls or encourages your own happiness.

I am too strong a personality for the little babes of Ethernet land... Hell's bells I am too strong a personality for most macho thinking men. I am proud of the woman that I am. I will always love everyone no matter what they think of me. In that I will never change.

Good life and happiness to you all.

Sheeza, I looked your pottery stuff up on-line and guess it would take a good bite out of your bank account.. wow.. and Danny has been looking at cookware, oh my gosh!! I would never pay so much for a few pans!! but then, if it were a unicorn or some sewing fabrics,well..
but that pottery is so pretty. glad you can splurge on you.. besides, if you don't who will??

~ Connie .... We all have our vices, some women it's shoes, purses or a new car every three years or new bedroom covers with the change of the seasons. I justify it because I don't change things out very often. I seem to keep things FOREVERRRRR so because of that reason I make SURE it is something I really really like and if it's quality I'll pay more for it because I know I keep it for a long time. So if I want to splurge on myself I'm worth it. Besides I would not ask my kids to spend that much on me.

~ That new pistol I was eyeing will have to wait and I'll make do with my revolver.

I am happy that you can treat yourself to something unique although expensive.

I wouldn't know the euphoria myself. I am well pleased that God has given me life and it was free.

That's a shame ...... I mean about the comment "wouldn't know the euphoria myself" .... everyone should be able to do a little something special for themselves from time to time. It doesn't have to be expensive. I often get the same feeling from things that are free that I do for myself and I'm not at all discounting what freedom Christ has give us/me and it's much appreciated but I don't think He minds that we can please ourselves when we give to Him first.

Heck I get a euphoric feeling as I give thanks for clean hot water for my shower in the morning knowing so many don't have that. Anyway, that's how I see it. It's for everyone.

You may not have gotten the essence of my prior comment, Sheeza.

I have never felt the rush of euphoria overtake me for having the ability and wherewithal to make an expensive monetary purchase.

I have experienced euphoria many, many times during my life and at each of those times the sensations were priceless.

Breathing the fresh, crisp air from a lofty summit as falcons soared overhead on a gentle, wafting breeze.

Touching the soft, smooth skin of a newborn child as it mewed and snuggled at its mother's breast.

The love and respect in your lover's eyes as he gazes upon you in your finest hour.

These things, and more, are worth more to me than any material thing money can buy.

no thanks, I want the hot water at night for a long bubble bath. I am not a morning person. even when I go to bed before midnight, I seldom get to sleep before 2 a.m.
this morning at 2:31 I was watching the wind blow the tree next door. it was bending pretty good..

~ *lol* ..... I think we are both on the same understanding of that are the things that bring the greatest euphoric feelings in life. Actually I wouldn't really call my purchase making me feel euphoric I guess that's the right way to say it, more of a delight. Guess I should have clarified that earlier but I wasn't really meaning to split hairs.

Connie, that is what I do sometimes also. A long bath with scented oils, candle light and soft music.
