''The decisions we made, we made because we thought they were in the interests of the American people,'' Mr. Clinton said, responding for the first time to reports that a Democratic Party fund-raiser told Federal investigators of funneling thousands of dollars from a Chinese military officer in the President's 1996 re-election campaign. Mr. Clinton, speaking at the end of an economic meeting in Birmingham, England, said he would determine the substance of the charges before deciding whether they would affect policy toward the Chinese Government. ''In any case, I think the investigation ought to proceed,'' he said, ''and then whatever the facts are, we'll take appropriate action at that time.'' Mr. Clinton is planning to visit China next month. The Justice Department's campaign finance task force is investigating whether political contributions influenced the Administration's 1996 decision to reverse a State Department policy that had categorized satellites as ''munitions,'' making it more difficult to export them for launching aboard Chinese rockets. In addition, several Congressional committees are looking into whether the Administration's policy shift on exporting satellite technology helped China and other countries develop and use nuclear missiles. The New York Times reported on Friday that Johnny Chung, the former fund-raiser, had told Federal investigators that a large part of the nearly $100,000 he gave the Democrats in the 1996 campaign came from China's People's Liberation Army through Liu Chaoying, a Chinese lieutenant colonel and aerospace executive. The Democratic National Committee subsequently returned the money to Mr. Chung, who began cooperating with investigators after he pleaded guilty in March to campaign-related bank and tax fraud. Congressional Republican leaders have accused the Administration of being influenced by American aerospace manufacturers, citing Bernard L. Schwartz, chairman of Loral Space and Communications, who gave more than $600,000 to the Democratic Party, making him the single largest personal donor. The Administration's decision to waive sanctions and ease the export control process allowed Loral and another aerospace company, the Hughes Electronic Corporation, to export satellites to be launched atop Chinese rockets. In his remarks today, Mr. Clinton did not directly mention the policy on satellites. But he suggested that the decision to move the authority for exporting the devices from the State Department to the Commerce Department was unanimous within his Administration. The Administration's decision to reverse State Department policy drew concerned comments today from a leading Democrat. Senator Joseph R. Biden Jr. of Delaware, the ranking minority member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said the Administration's policy switch was ''serious stuff.'' Interviewed on ''Fox News Sunday,'' Senator Biden said any ''correlation of quid pro quo'' linking campaign contributions to a shift in national security policy should be ferreted out. Representative Porter J. Goss, the Florida Republican who is chairman of the House Select Committee on Intelligence, said an independent counsel may have to be appointed to investigate the Chinese contributions if the Justice Department failed to conduct a thorough inquiry. ''The sinister element comes in when we start reading that Chinese intelligence is inserting large amounts of money,'' Mr. Goss said on the same program. ''Now, I admit it is possible for anybody to be duped in a campaign about where money comes from. But it is very clear that the Chinese had some reason to give large amounts of money. They wanted something for it. What was it the Chinese wanted?'' Samuel R. Berger, the national security adviser, said in a television interview that the United States began permitting the launching of American satellites aboard Chinese rockets in the Bush Administration. ''The reason for that is that the telecommunications industry has a tremendous need to put satellites up into the air and that exceeds the launch capacity of the United States,'' Mr. Berger said on the CNN program ''Late Edition.'' He also denied that any campaign contributions had influenced foreign policy. Mr. Berger said that American companies did not risk passing restricted technology on to the Chinese. The satellites, he said, ''are put into a black box'' under the supervision of the Department of Defense ''and taken to China, put on top of the missile and blown up into the sky.'' But there was a time when they didn’t care when a foreign country tried to buy a U.S. election (Hint: It helped a Democrat). Back in 1996, China helped then-President Bill Clinton get re-elected by funneling money to the Clinton campaign. During Clinton’s re-election campaign against Republican Bob Dole, the Chinese Red Army (via fundraiser Johnny Chung) donated $300,000 to the Clinton campaign. After Clinton won, his administration quietly approved the export of key technology that aided China’s ballistic missile program. Despite scoops by the Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, Washington Post, The Washington Times that detailed connections between Chinese contributions and espionage efforts, as well as exhaustive Congressional hearings the Big Three networks (ABC, CBS, NBC) all but buried the Clinton-Chinese fundraising scandal. And even when they did cover the scandal, anchors and reporters were dismissive. The late ABC World News Tonight anchor Peter Jennings, on his April 10, 1997 show, thought the investigation into the scandal wasn’t worth the effort: “When we come back, two investigations of fundraising abuse, two of them on Capitol Hill. Is it a waste of time and money?” When the late-Senator Fred Thompson’s Governmental Affairs Committee took up the matter in the summer of 1997, ABC correspondent Linda Douglass was quick to claim there was nothing to the investigation: “Senator [Fred] Thompson is clearly tired of taking a beating from the Democrats, who every single day point out the fact that he’s failed to prove there is any Chinese plot in connection with the Democratic presidential campaign.” On June 17, 1997 then Today co-anchor Katie Couric absurdly asked The Washington Post’s Bob Woodward “Are members of the media, do you think, Bob, too scandal-obsessed, looking for something at every corner?” And while today the liberal media is playing up the sinister KGB past of Vladimir Putin, back then they were offended by any labeling of China as communist or “red.” On the April 4, 1997 CBS Evening News, reporter Phil Jones huffed: “Republicans call this money ‘a direct slap at those brave young Americans who spilled their blood defending freedom.’ China is referred to as ‘Red China.’ Why not just call it ‘China’? Why ‘Red China’?” The following are some of the major discoveries from that era and how they were or were not covered: ¦ China’s Army Funds the Democrats. On April 4, 1999 the Asian fundraising scandal culminated in a Los Angeles Times report: Johnny Chung told Justice Dept. investigators that the chief of Chinese military intelligence gave him $300,000 to donate to the Clinton campaign. None of the broadcast networks touched this bombshell until Chung appeared before Congress on May 11, but even then the ABC and NBC morning shows and the CBS Evening News ignored him. ¦ China Acquires U.S. Missile Technology. Beginning in April 1998, The New York Times reported the Chinese government had been given technological expertise that “significantly advanced Beijing’s ballistic missile program,” and the head of one of the offending defense contractors was the largest individual contributor to Democrats in 1996. In the first ten days the Big Three aired only 11 evening stories and six morning stories, then dropped the issue. The networks have since ignored several significant revelations and conducted only one morning show interview. ¦ Clinton’s Denials Exposed. When pressed by print reports about whether he knew Chinese espionage was occurring on his watch, President Clinton claimed in two press conferences that he was told nothing about espionage occurring during his term. House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., said earlier that he had briefed Trump on new information, unrelated to an investigation into Russian activities, that suggested that several members of Trump's transition team and perhaps Trump himself had their identities "unmasked" after their communications were intercepted by U.S. intelligence officials. The revelation is notable because identities of Americans are generally supposed to remain "masked" if American communications are swept up during surveillance of foreign individuals. During an interview on Fox News, Woodward said that if that information about the unmasking is true, "it is a gross violation." He said it isn't Trump's assertion, without proof, that his predecessor wiretapped Trump Tower that is of concern, but rather that intelligence officials named the Americans being discussed in intercepted communications. "You can learn all kinds of things from diplomats gossiping, because that's what occurs. Under the rules, and they are pretty strict, it's called minimization. You don't name the American person who is being discussed," Woodward said. He noted that there are about 20 people in the intelligence community who, for intelligence reasons, can order this "minimization" be removed. "But the idea that there was intelligence value here is really thin," Woodward said. "It's, again, down the middle, it is not what Trump said, but this could be criminal on the part of people who decided, oh, let's name these people." He drove the point home, adding that "under the rules, that name is supposed to be blanked out, and so you've got a real serious problem potentially of people in the Obama administration passing around this highly classified gossip."

After 52 Americans were taken hostage in 1979 Iranian hostage crisis, Carter cut diplomatic ties with Iran, kicked all diplomats out of the U.S. and banned Iranians from entering the country. “The steps I have ordered today are those that are necessary now,” Carter said in announcing the move. “Other actions may become necessary if these steps do not produce the prompt release of the hostages.” Carter also ordered federal officials to “invalidate all visas issued to Iranian citizens for future entry into the United States, effective today. We will not reissue visas, nor will we issue new visas, except for compelling and proven humanitarian reasons or where the national interest of our own country requires. This directive will be interpreted very strictly.” Why is it okay when Carter does a travel ban, but not okay when Trump does it?!

The story came to light when the Washington Free Beacon posted the facts in a news report on March 9. In response, the congressional watchdog group, Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT), filed the complaint March 20. Patricia Williams currently serves as the Deputy District Director in the Representative’s Broward County, Florida office. She receives the maximum amount allowed by a congressional staffer, $168,000 per year, even though she does not have the most responsibility in the office. She makes more even than Hastings’ D.C. chief of staff, traditionally the highest paid position in a congressional office. Albee Hastings has a peppered legal history and now is under investigation for nepotism. Williams and Hastings’ met in the 1980s. He was a federal judge facing impeachment and she was on the legal team representing him. After the trial, he hired her as a staff assistant in 1993. She has since worked her way up to her current position. Congressional staffers salaries have only been publicly reported since 2000. Those records indicate that in 2001, Williams was paid $98,000 for her work as a staff assistant. The Washington Times reports that the median salary for a congressional staff assistant is from $30,000 to $35,000 per year. Even given points for loyalty and seniority, she is still ridiculously overpaid. In 2001, she made $121,307. All in all, Patricia Williams made $623,003 as a staff assistant during 2000-2005. In 2006 Williams was promoted to Deputy District Director. Her subsequent raise increased her salary to $143,314. She continued to receive raises over the next several years, until 2012, when her salary peaked at the maximum allowable limit of $168,411. It has remained there for the last five years. Since 2000, it is calculated she has made $2.4 million in taxpayer money. In 2011, Williams daughter, Maisha, was even hired on as a staff assistant. There are no rules prohibiting relationships with staffers, although there are rules against hiring family members. Hastings’ gets around that by stating they aren’t married. But there are ethic laws regarding nepotism. The complaint filed by the watchdog group states, “This relationship along with the facts that Williams has been paid the maximum amount permitted by law for several years and is Hastings’ highest compensated employee, but not the staff member that generally has the most responsibilities, indicates serious ethical concerns. The House Ethics rules prohibit a Member from discriminating unfairly by dispensing special favors. More specifically, the House Code of Official Conduct prohibits a Member from retaining employees on the Member’s payroll who do not perform official duties commensurate with the compensation received. Each Member is ‘accountable for the pay and performance of staff.'” Also of note, is the fact that one of Hastings’ staffers is the wife of an ex-employee. Dona Nichols-Jones is the wife of Mikel Jones who worked for Hastings from 1993 to 2011. Mikel was dismissed after he used a $600,000 business loan for personal use. In 2011, he was convicted of money laundering, conspiracy, and fraud. Court records show that Dona was complicit in the crimes, assisting him in creating fake invoices, to send the money to themselves. The money was used to pay off credit card debt, travel, groceries, and other personal expenses. She was ordered by the court to pay $400,000 in restitution and served one day in prison. Hastings hired her back for part-time work and paid her about $30,000 per year. So, with all of this shady money circling around, it would seem to be appropriate that Hasting’s 1981 impeachment had to do with dirty money as well. As a federal judge, he was charged with accepting a bribe in exchange for reducing the sentences of mobsters he convicted. He was acquitted in 1983 but later investigations found that he tampered with evidence, committed perjury, and conspired to accept bribes. He was impeached on 7 articles. All the while Williams was by his side, working on his behalf. If the Congressman couldn’t seem any dirtier, there’s more. In 2011 Winsome Packer, a female staffer, filed a sexual harassment claim against Hastings. According the complaint, drafted by watchdog group Judicial Watch, “Mr. Hastings’ intention was crystal clear: he was sexually attracted to Ms. Packer, wanted a sexual relationship with her, and would help progress her career if she acquiesced to his sexual advances.” For over two years Ms. Packer cited she was, “forced to endure unwelcome sexual advances, crude sexual comments, and unwelcome touching by Mr. Hastings.” Some of the items noted in the complaint included unwanted physical contact including full frontal hugs. He invited her on several occasions to come alone to his hotel room, as well as making sexual comments to her in public, asking her, “What kind of underwear are you wearing?” When she continuously rejected his advances, he eventually got the message and threatened her job. He also marginalized her in the office. The stress got so overwhelming, she was admitted to the emergency room for a severe reaction. The lawsuit was dismissed by a federal judge in 2012 and the House Ethics Committee opted not to probe the representative on the issue. On the charge of nepotism, Hastings has not answered media requests for comment. This could finally be justice for a man who has consistently thwarted the law while he continued to make it for everyone else. Mark Twain said, “Politicians are like diapers. An activist with the Arab American Action Network, Odeh was alleged to be a member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), a designated terror group. She was convicted in Israel in 1970 of taking part in two bombings the year before, one at a supermarket in Jerusalem and another at the British consulate. New Mexico led all states with 72 percent of the babies born there in 2015 having their births covered by Medicaid. Arkansas ranked second with 67 percent; Louisiana ranked third with 65 percent; and three states—Mississippi, Nevada and Wisconsin—tied for fourth place with 64 percent of babies born there covered by Medicaid. New Hampshire earned the distinction of having the smallest percentage of babies born on Medicaid. In that state, Medicaid paid for the births of only 27 percent of the babies born in 2015. Virginia and Utah tied for the next to last position, with 31 percent of the babies born on Medicaid. However, according to KFF, some of the nation’s most populous states shared the distinction of having 50 percent or more of the babies born there born on Medicaid. In California, Florida and Illinois, for example, 50 percent of all babies were born on Medicaid in the latest year on record. In New York, 51 percent of the babies were born on Medicaid. In Ohio, 52 percent of babies were born on Medicaid. The Kaiser Family Foundation gathered its data on the number of babies born on Medicaid in each state by surveying the state Medicaid directors. “Medicaid directors were asked to provide the most recent available data on the share of all births in their states that were financed by Medicaid,” said a KFF report. “About half of the states were able to provide data for calendar 2015 or fiscal year 2015,” said KFF. “Other states generally provided data from 2013 or 2014. On average, states reported that Medicaid pays for just over 47 percent of all births.” “Eight states (Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Carolina and West Virginia) reported that Medicaid pays for 60 percent or more of all births in their state,” reported KFF. The KFF survey said data from Hawaii was not available. A study published by the journal “Women’s Health Issues” in 2013 looked at births covered by Medicaid in the years 2008, 2009, 2010. The report said it was trying to establish a “baseline” for Medicaid-covered birth before the Affordable Care Act’s—AKA Obamacare’s—expansion of Medicaid kicked in. “Starting in 2014,” said this report, “some states will extend Medicaid to thousands of previously uninsured, low-income women. Given this changing landscape, it is important to have a baseline of current levels of Medicaid financing for births in each state.” That study, done by researchers at George Washington University and the March of Dimes, determined that in 2008, 40.08 percent of the births in the United States were covered by Medicaid; and that, in 2009, 43.89 percent were covered by Medicaid. By 2010, according this report, the percentage of births in the United States covered by Medicaid had risen to 47.75 percent—or 1,805,151 out of 3,780,519 total births. Another report, published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention later in December 2013, looked at the form of payment for births in the 33 states and the District of Columbia that as of 2010 had adopted the 2003 version of “U.S. Standard Certificate for Live Birth.” This certificate specifically asks the mother to say which of four categories the payment for her child’s birth falls into: private insurance, Medicaid, self-pay, or other. This data, according to the CDC, covered all 2010 births in the 33 states and the District of Columbia, which accounted for 76 percent of all births in the nation in that year. According to the CDC, this data revealed that 44.9 percent of the babies born in these jurisdictions in 2010 were born on Medicaid. In this 2010 CDC data for 33 states, New Mexico also led with the highest percentage of births on Medicaid—with 57.5 percent of all babies born there that year having their births covered by Medicaid.

Employees of a hedge fund founded by the king of the Institutional Left, billionaire and Democratic Party mega-donor George Soros, donated tens of thousands of dollars to top Republicans who fought against President Donald Trump in 2016, donation records compiled by the Center for Responsive Politics show. Soros Fund Management, a former hedge fund that serves now as an investment management firm, was founded by progressive billionaire George Soros in 1969. It has risen to become one of the most profitable hedge funds in the industry. Employees of the firm are heavily involved in backing political candidates giving millions upon millions to groups that were supporting failed 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Rodham Clinton for the presidency. But more importantly, perhaps, than the unsurprising giant lump sums of cash funneled into Democratic Party and Clinton coffers is the revelation thanks to the Center for Responsive Politics that employees of the Soros firm—now run by his son Robert Soros—pumped tens of thousands of dollars into the campaigns of top anti-Trump Republicans over the course of 2016. In total, executives with the Soros-founded company pushed $36,800 into the coffers of these GOP candidates just this past cycle. That does not include Super PACs or campaign committees, which saw tens of thousands of dollars more. While these numbers for Republicans pale in comparison to the millions upon millions poured into Democratic groups, causes, and candidates, it is significant that Soros executives are making a play inside the GOP. Perhaps even more significant is the type of Republican they aim to prop up: pro-amnesty, pro-open borders on trade, and generally speaking anti-Trump. A pattern emerges when looking at the policies of the Republicans that these Soros Fund Management executives support financially. The biggest recipient of Soros-connected cash in the GOP was none other than House Speaker Paul Ryan, who repeatedly attempted to undermine Trump over the course of the election. According to the records available online, the Soros firm’s workers gave $10,800 to Ryan. Included in that are two separate May 2, 2016, donations from David Rogers, a then-employee of Soros Fund Management who lives in New York City. Rogers left the Soros Fund Management firm right around that time. Bloomberg reported in late April 2016, just before these two separate donations to Ryan; David Rogers and Joshua Donfeld, two portfolio managers at billionaire George Soros’s family office, are leaving the firm over disagreements with its new chief investment officer about the direction of global markets, according to people with knowledge of the matter. Rogers, a protege of Soros’s former chief investment strategist Stan Druckenmiller, managed a portfolio of about $3 billion at the $28 billion Soros Fund Management, said the people, who asked not to be named because the matter is private. Rogers, 38, made his name as a commodities trader, while Donfeld, 40, focuses on stock investing, said the people, adding that both men are expected to leave the family office next month. Another two separate donations to Ryan came from Donfeld, both on May 2, 2016 and totaling $2,700 each. In total, that adds up to $10,800—between both Rogers and Donfeld, who were working for Soros Fund Management at the time—that they gave to Paul Ryan. Ryan’s chief spokesman, Brendan Buck, has not responded to a Breitbart News’s inquiry about the donations from the Soros firm’s employees. But Ryan’s support for open borders when it comes to immigration and trade, and his backing of so-called “criminal justice reform” legislation, is in line with Soros’ worldview—and he regularly bashed Trump over the course of the 2016 election. But he was hardly the only anti-Trump Republican who received cash from Soros Fund Management employees over the course of 2016. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), a failed presidential candidate, received $3,500 from the firm’s employees, according to the Center for Responsive Politics data. That includes a $1,500 donation from Soros Fund Management executive Scott Bessent. Bessent has since left the firm to work at a different hedge fund, but “oversaw George Soros’s $30 billion fortune for the last four years” according to an early January 2016 article in Bloomberg. The other two donations to Graham from the firm’s employees—both worth $1,000, with one on March 17, 2015, and the other on July 29, 2015—came from Alexander Cohen, an executive with Soros Fund Management. Graham spokesman Kevin Bishop argues that since Soros himself didn’t give Graham money that this is not controversial. “George Soros has never given a penny to Lindsey Graham,” Bishop said in an email. “George Soros Fund Management has never given a penny to Lindsey Graham. These are donations from individuals who are employed by Soros Fund Management.” Bishop compared this to an employee for Amway or for the Trump Organization making a donation to Sen. Bernie Sanders’ campaign in 2016, something that would mean that employee–not Amway owners like the DeVos family or President Trump or his family–is the one making the donation. But Bishop does not deny that Graham did take a donation from Soros Fund Management employees. Fellow failed presidential candidate Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) raked in $2,700, while other failed GOP presidential candidates Ohio Gov. John Kasich and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush also received $2,700 apiece from employees of the Soros firm. Rubio’s $2,700 donation came from the aforementioned Los Angeles-based Donfeld on Jan. 22, 2016, a few months before, as Bloomberg reported, he and Rogers left the firm. Kasich’s $2,700 donation came from Bessent on Oct. 24, 2015. Bush’s $2,700 donation came on July 24, 2015, from David Murphy of Soros Fund Management. Murphy, according to his LinkedIN page, is a current “portfolio manager” at the firm. John McCain (R-AZ), a failed one-time GOP presidential nominee from 2008, got $2,500 from an executive at the Soros firm, while Boehner—who resigned amid a coup from conservatives—raked in $2,600 from an executive at the Soros firm. McCain’s $2,500 this cycle came from Donfeld of Soros Fund Management on Sept. 23, 2015. In previous cycles, McCain has taken cash directly from George Soros himself—a $1,000 donation on June 2, 1999—and from others with the firm, including a $1,000 donation from Bessent on March 13, 2000, a $2,300 donation from Soros Fund Management’s Michael Au on Dec. 27, 2007, a $1,000 donation from Duncan Hennes of Soros Fund Management on March 13, 2000, and a $2,300 donation from Soros Fund Management’s Joshua Berkowitz on Jan. 15, 2008. Boehner’s $2,600 donation this cycle came from Bessent of Soros Fund Management on Feb. 12, 2015. The media relations department at Reynolds American, the tobacco company of which Boehner joined the board after resigning from Congress in 2015, has not responded to a request for comment on his behalf. Now former Rep. Joe Heck (R-NV), the 2016 Republican nominee for U.S. Senate in Nevada who lost his election after he withdrew his endorsement of Trump in the general election, also received $2,500 from an executive at Soros Fund Management, while Rep. Carlos Curbelo (R-FL)—a “Never Trump” congressman who voted for a third-party candidate because he refused to support the GOP nominee for president—received $1,000 from an executive at the Soros family firm. Heck’s $2,500 donation on Sept. 29, 2016, came from Soros Fund Management’s Sender Cohen. According to the Israel on Campus Coalition, another organization for which Sender Cohen serves as director, he is a “Portfolio Manager, the Director of Research and member of the Management Committee at Soros Fund Management.” Heck’s spokesman from the campaign has not responded to a request for comment on Monday. Curbelo’s $1,000 donation came on June 5, 2015, from Paul Sohn, a former executive with Soros Fund Management. Sohn had already left the firm earlier in the year, as it was reported on CNBC in January 2015 that Sohn had left Soros Fund Management after his involvement in a controversial investment. That is months before he reported on this June 2015 Federal Election Commission (FEC) filing for this Curbelo donation that his employer was Soros Fund Management. A Curbelo spokeswoman has not responded to a request for comment. Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA), the House GOP conference chairwoman, got $1,000 from an official with Soros Fund Management. The independent and wildly unsuccessful general election candidate Evan McMullin—whom Trump has called “McMuffin” in jest after his failure—is a former staffer of hers. McMullin, who turned out to fail fantastically on election day despite media fanfare about his candidacy, was previously a McMorris Rodgers staffer as chief policy director for nearly two years in the House GOP conference before his whimsical bid at the presidency that went nowhere and had essentially zero impact on the race. Rodgers’ $1,000 donation this cycle came from Alexander Cohen of Soros Fund Management on March 13, 2015. “The Congresswoman receives thousands of donations from individuals in Washington State and across the country who believe in her mission to restore the people’s voice in government,” a spokesman for McMorris Rodgers told Breitbart News. The spokesman also says that McMorris Rodgers has no responsibility for McMullin, and cut ties with him as soon as media outlets reported his intention to run as an independent against Trump. “The House Republican Conference has zero knowledge of his intentions,” a McMorris Rodgers spokesman said when McMullin launched his bid. The only few Republicans who received Soros Fund Management cash but did support Trump were Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI), Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), Rep. Dan Donovan (R-NY), and Rep. Ed Royce (R-CA). Royce received $2,500 from the firm, Johnson and Grassley each received $1,000, and Donovan received $300. Johnson’s $1,000 donation came on April 15, 2016, from Alexander Cohen of Soros Fund Management, as did Grassley’s, which came on Oct. 13, 2015. Donovan’s $300 donation came from Christopher Rich of Soros Fund Management on April 20, 2015. Royce’s $2,500 donation came from Sender Cohen of Soros Fund Management on March 31, 2016. Spokespersons for Johnson, Donovan and Royce have not responded to Breitbart News’s requests for comment. A spokesperson for Grassley did not have a comment.

Sheriff Grady Judd was asked by a reporter if he regretted the comments that he had made about being ‘ready for a gunfight’ with a group of dangerous murder suspects. The suspects were allegedly involved in a robbery as well as a horrific double homicide of a mother and daughter. The reporter asked if the comment was made in the heat of the moment. The Sheriff’s response was anything but politically correct. He said, “I not only had no regret, I’m pretty excited to tell you that’s exactly what would have happened. Make no mistake about it, there’s nothing about politically correct in a gunfight and there’s nothing about politically correct when you’re keeping people alive, and well, and safe. People in this community and law enforcement officers come first. I meant every word of it then, and I mean every word of it now. If you surrender peacefully, that’s the way we prefer it. If you start pointing guns on us, you can not only plan on, but you can guarantee that we are going to shoot you.” Grady has been known as a no-nonsense law enforcement officer for years. In 2009, Polk Country law enforcement officers launched a 24 hour manhunt to apprehend Angilo Freeland, who was a suspect in the murder of one police officer, one K-9 dog, and wounding another officer after being stopped for speeding. Freeland was considered to be armed and extremely dangerous. The alleged cop killer was tracked to a rural area where he was surrounded by a Polk County swat team. Freeland then raised his gun at the officers, and the authorities promptly responded by opening fire. Freeland was shot 68 times after the police responded with 110 rounds of deadly force. When asked why the suspect was shot that many times, Sheriff Judd responded, “I suspect the only reason 110 rounds was all that was fired was that’s all the ammunition they had. We are not going to take any chance of him shooting back.” The Left is constantly championing the cause of the criminals over the police officers. They held up Michael Brown as a hero after he robbed a convenience store, and assaulted a police officer. Laquan McDonald became a martyr to the cause of Black Lives Matter even though he was burglarizing cars and had PCP in his system. Ironically, Black Lives Matter has not lifted a finger to protest the hundreds of black on black crimes that are occurring every year in the same city of Chicago. To a liberal, a police officer is always wrong, even when it comes to using force against an armed suspect who has already shown they are capable of aggression, and in the case of Polk County, of committing murder.
