The circumstantial evidence is mounting that the Kremlin succeeded in infiltrating the US government at the highest levels.
How else to explain a newly elected president looking the other way after an act of Russian aggression? Agreeing to a farcically one-sided nuclear deal? Mercilessly mocking the idea that Russia represents our foremost geo-political foe?
Accommodating the illicit nuclear ambitions of a Russian ally? Welcoming a Russian foothold in the Middle East? Refusing to provide arms to a sovereign country invaded by Russia? Diminishing our defenses and pursuing a Moscow-friendly policy of hostility to fossil fuels?
All of these items, of course, refer to things said or done by President Barack Obama.
To take them in order: He re-set with Russia shortly after its clash with Georgia in 2008. He concluded the New START agreement with Moscow that reduced our nuclear forces but not theirs. When candidate Mitt Romney warned about Russia in the 2012 campaign, Obama rejected him as a Cold War relic.
The president then went on to forge an agreement with Russia’s ally Iran to allow it to preserve its nuclear program. During the red-line fiasco, he eagerly grasped a lifeline from Russia at the price of accepting its intervention in Syria. He never budged on giving Ukraine “lethal” weapons to defend itself from Russian attack.
Finally, Obama cut US defense spending and cracked down on fossil fuels — a policy that Russia welcomes, since its economy is dependent on high oil prices.
Put all of this together, and it’s impossible to conclude anything other than that Obama was a Russian stooge — and not out of any nefarious dealings, but out of his own naïveté and weakness.
Obama didn’t expect any rewards when he asked then-Russian President Dimitri Medvedev during a hot mic moment at an international meeting to relay to Vladimir Putin his ability to be more “flexible” after the 2012 election; he was, to put it in terms of the current Russian election controversy, “colluding” with the Russians in the belief it was a good strategy. His “kompromat” was his own foolishness.
The cost of Obama’s orientation toward Russia became clearer over the last two weeks. When he pulled up short from enforcing his red line, an agreement with the Russians to remove Bashar al-Assad’s chemical weapons became the fig leaf to cover his retreat.
This deal was obviously deficient, but Obama officials used clever language to give the impression that it had removed all chemical weapons from Syria. Never mind that Assad still used chlorine gas to attack his population — exploiting a grievous loophole — and that evidence piled up that Assad was cheating more broadly.
The Russians eagerly covered for Assad because he’s their client. What was the Obama administration’s excuse? It effectively made itself a liar for the Russians. At the same time Moscow bolstered the Assad regime, we said had to go, smashed the moderate opposition we were trying to create, and sent a destabilizing refugee flow into Europe. This was a moral and strategic disaster.
To be sure, Donald Trump’s statements about Russia over the last year-and-a-half have often been stupid and shameful. But there was always a good chance that Russia’s blatant hostility to our values and interests would make any attempted Trump detente unsustainable. With his secretary of state and UN ambassador hitting Russia hard over the Assad gas attack and Trump’s strike challenging Russia’s position, the administration looks to be adopting a hard-headed attitude without bothering with a doomed re-set first.
Even if Obama eventually got tougher on Russia — imposing sanctions after the Ukraine invasion and sending contingents of US troops to countries near Russia — he never entirely shed his reflex toward accommodation.
No matter what conspiracy theorists might say, there’s nothing to suggest anything untoward about Obama’s relationship with Russia. But based on the record alone, you might have suspicions.

Where there is smoke, there may be fire. So, investigate, investigate, investigate until you find something.

"WASHINGTON — Despite repeated efforts by President Trump to curtail refugee resettlements, the State Department this week quietly lifted the department’s restriction on the number of refugees allowed to enter the United States.
The result could be a near doubling of refugees entering the country, from about 830 people a week in the first three weeks of this month to well over 1,500 people per week by next month, according to refugee advocates. Tens of thousands of refugees are waiting to come to the United States."
Despite President Trump’s efforts to curtail resettlement, the State Department’s move could result in a near doubling of refugees entering the country.
The result could be a near doubling of refugees entering the country, from about 830 people a week in the first three weeks of this month to well over 1,500 people per week by next month, according to refugee advocates. Tens of thousands of refugees are waiting to come to the United States.
The State Department’s decision was conveyed in an email on Thursday to the private agencies in countries around the world that help refugees manage the nearly two-year application process needed to enter the United States.
In her email, Jennifer L. Smith, a department official, wrote that the refugee groups could begin bringing people to the United States “unconstrained by the weekly quotas that were in place.”
Although it came the same day as an appeals court ruling that rejected government efforts to limit travel to the United States from six predominantly Muslim nations, the move by the State Department had nothing to do with the court ruling.
The department’s quotas on refugee resettlement were largely the result of budget constraints imposed by Congress in a temporary spending measure passed last fall. But when Congress passed a spending bill this month that funded the government for the rest of the fiscal year, the law did not include any restrictions on refugee admissions.
A State Department spokeswoman, speaking on the condition of anonymity because she was not authorized to discuss the issue publicly, said the department had consulted the Department of Justice about its refugee quotas and had decided to adjust them.

President Trump has sought to lower the ceiling on the number of refugees annually allowed in the country to 50,000 from 110,000. Mr. Trump’s executive orders on immigration, the first of which he issued on Jan. 27, also sought to suspend all refugee admissions for at least four months. Federal judges stayed those orders, but the confusion over them has contributed to a falloff in refugees entering the United States.
While 13,255 refugees were admitted in August, that number plunged to just 2,070 in March. So far during the 2017 fiscal year, 45,732 people have been admitted, just a few thousand short of Mr. Trump’s proposed cap.
Refugee groups now predict that entries into the United States could increase so rapidly that the total number of refugees admitted by Sept. 30, the end of the fiscal year, could exceed 70,000. That is well below the 84,994 refugees admitted in fiscal year 2016, but not by nearly as much as many advocates had feared.
Refugee advocates were delighted by the State Department’s decision.
“This is long overdue, but we’re very happy,” said Mark Hetfield, president and chief executive of HIAS, an immigrant aid society.
But many of the advocates said they were worried that any reprieve would be temporary.
“The president’s proposed budget cuts for 2018 would mean we would have a much smaller program next year no matter what happens with his executive orders,” said Erol Kekic, executive director of the immigration and refugee program at Church World Service.
Perhaps even more worrisome, refugee advocates said they had seen a slowdown in security screenings by the Department of Homeland Security, whose checks are required for refugees to enter the United States.
Still, even Republicans in Congress have said that few of Mr. Trump’s proposed budget cuts to foreign aid and the State Department’s budget would be adopted into law.
In a visit this week to Syrian refugee camps in Turkey, Nikki R. Haley, the United Nations ambassador, all but urged Congress to reverse Mr. Trump’s proposed cuts in aid to refugees.
“It’s starting the conversation,” Ms. Haley said of Mr. Trump’s proposed budget, according to The Associated Press. “It doesn’t mean that’s where it will end up. He’s going to have that conversation with Congress on where we should fall on this.”

Mohamad Bazzi is the plaintiff in the mega-dollar lawsuit, reports The Detroit Free Press.
Bazzi, 32, claims that he specifically ordered halal pepperoni pizza on two separate occasions from a Little Caesars in Dearborn but received delicious pork pepperoni instead.
Both pizza boxes he received were labeled “halal,” according to the lawsuit.
The Quran, the main religious text of Islam, prohibits Muslims from eating pork. (“Halal” means meat meeting Islamic dietary requirements.)
According to Bazzi’s attorney, Majed Moughni, the second time Bazzi received pork pepperoni was on Wednesday of this week — just before the start of Ramadan, the Muslim month of fasting (which begins this weekend).
The lawsuit, filed in Wayne County Circuit Court, claims that the first incident occurred back on March 20. Bazzi and his wife were in their home enjoying a Little Caesars pizza they’d picked up earlier. The couple was halfway finished with the pizza, the suit claims, when they suddenly realized they were eating pork pepperoni.
Bazzi’s wife says she knew the pepperoni was pork because she is a convert to Islam who grew up Catholic. Bazzi also has experience with pizza ingredients, he says, because he once worked at a pizza joint.
Bazzi and his unnamed wife — the converted Catholic — “became sick to their stomach” when they realized they were eating pork, the $100 million lawsuit says.
They were deeply troubled — so troubled they filed a police report after first waiting three days.
After Bazzi ordered the second halal pepperoni pizza from the Dearborn Little Caesars and allegedly received more pork pepperoni, he went back to the restaurant and spoke to the manager. He says he recorded the conversation.
According to Moughni, who is Bazzi’s lawyer, the Little Caesars manager has claimed that Bazzi had asked for a Hot-n-Ready pepperoni pizza with a halal sticker. This claim is categorically false, Moughni says. No Hot-n-Ready pepperoni pizza was ordered.
Eating pork is “one of the worst sins you can do,” Moughni told the Free Press.
“They have no regard for people’s religious beliefs,” the lawyer also said, according to The Detroit News. “This is a violation of the Muslim faith. You can’t be handing out pork, mislabeling it as halal and get away with it. This isn’t how America operates. A billion dollar corporation can’t get away with it.”
“These people were unknowingly assaulted,” Moughni told The Detroit News. “None of these employees seem to care.”
Moughni is no stranger to religion-related controversy. Around Easter 2014, a Dearborn, Michigan attorney named Majed Moughni complained about flyers handed out at public schools advertising an “Eggstravaganza!” Easter egg hunt to be held at a Presbyterian church. Several local Muslim leaders and the pastor at the church denounced Moughni’s complaint about the Easter egg hunt. They also urged area Muslims to come to the “Eggstravaganza!” and have their children participate.
A spokeswoman for Little Caesars, Jill Proctor, emphasized that the pizza chain — America’s third-largest — has no animus toward Muslims or, in fact, adherents of any religion or creed.
“Little Caesars cherishes our customers from all religions and cultures, and the communities we serve are very important to us,” Proctor said in a statement obtained by both local newspapers.
Moughni says he believes other Muslims have unwittingly eaten pork pepperoni from Little Caesars which they believed to be halal.
The attorney says he hopes to turn the lawsuit into a class action.
The four counts of the lawsuit are fraud, breach of contract, negligent misrepresentation and unjust enrichment.
The defendants named in the lawsuit are Little Caesars as a corporation and also the employees of the Little Caesars location in Dearborn.
In 2011, McDonald’s settled a lawsuit for $700,000 after plaintiffs showed that chicken claimed to be halal was not, in fact, halal. The McDonald’s serving that chicken was in the Detroit area.

Thousands Cured Of Poverty After Georgia Introduces Work-For-Food-Stamp Requirement

Thousands of people have been miraculously cured of poverty in Georgia following the state’s implementation of a requirement that all those receiving stamps must either be working, training for a job, or volunteering for a non-profit or charity.
According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, “Georgia has been rolling out work requirements for food stamp recipients for over a year.”
The outlet states that the latest rollout saw the requirements reach 21 counties, affecting roughly 12,000 able-bodied people without children.
Those people were given until April 1 to fulfil the aforementioned requirement. But when that date rolled around, The Journal-Constitution, citing state figures, reports that more than half of the food stamp recipients were dropped from the program.
“Essentially, the number of recipients spiraled down from 11,779 to 4,528, or a drop of 62 percent,” the outlet states.
According to The Journal-Constitution Georgian officials are looking at expanding the food stamp requirements to all 159 counties in the state by 2019.
“The greater good is people being employed, being productive, and contributing to the state,” said Bobby Cagle, head of Georgia’s Division of Family and Children Services, according to the outlet.
Not everyone sees these changes as a good thing, however.
Brandon Hanick, a representative with the progressive activist group Better Georgia, reportedly told The Journal-Constitution, “it’s cruel. We’re talking about one of the most basic needs – the need for food.”
Republican State Rep. Greg Morris, according to the outlet, countered this by stating, “this is about protecting taxpayer dollars from abuse and taking people off the cycle of dependency.”
Morris reportedly added that the huge drop in numbers of dependents Georgia has seen “shows how tax dollars are abused when it comes to entitlements.”
Speaking of food stamp abuse, a study released in late 2016 revealed that there’s quite a lot of it going on.
According to the study, released by the USDA, 5.4% of food stamp expenditures goes to soft drinks alone. That’s nearly $360 million.
Further, just over 14% of all food stamp expenditures goes towards junk food like candy, cakes, energy drinks and the like.
As Zero Hedge puts it, “it’s a good thing Democrats re-branded Food Stamps as the ‘Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program,’ otherwise we would have confused it for a blatant waste of taxpayer money on sodas and energy drinks.”

1. Memorial Day began because of the Civil War, during which approximately 620,000 soldiers died. (That's like losing the entire population of my hometown of Nashville in a single war. Every one of us). This tragic loss of life and its devastating effects on communities throughout America was the original reason for the holiday.
2. After the Civil War, General John A. Logan, Commander in Chief of the Grand Army of the Republic, decided that the commemoration of fallen soldiers should be observed every year on May 30. In 1971, the holiday was moved to the last Monday in May.
3. The North and South originally celebrated Memorial Day on different days, due to the deep divisions between the Union and the Confederacy.
4. The city of Waterloo in the state of New York is recognized for holding the first observance of Memorial Day.
5. Memorial Day was not established as an official holiday until 1968. At that time, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Uniform Monday Holiday Law, which recognized a number of legal public holidays, including Memorial Day.
6. The "National Moment of Remembrance," established on December 28, 2000 by President Bill Clinton, occurs each Memorial Day at 3 p.m. Eastern time.
7. There are a number of Memorial Day customs that are typically followed. For example, it's customary to fly the flag at half-staff until noon, then raise it to the top of the staff to fly proudly until sunset.

Newt Gingrich: “I wrote my newsletter this week on the very real notion that we should lock people up who leak secrets. Let me draw the distinction; there’s political garbage from people who go across to the Starbucks near the White House and they sit and they tell insider stories. That’s unfortunate you ought to fire them if you can find them.
But that’s not the same as violating the Secrecy Acts. People who violate the Secrecy Acts ought to go to jail. What happened with the Manchester information for example, after the bombing in Manchester, undermined the British investigation, weakened our relationship to our allies and it’s dangerous.
Whoever leaked that should go to jail. You start putting a few people in jail, and you’ll see the leaks dry up dramatically.”
Newt Gingrich is right. The REAL scandal is that classified information is being leaked to WaPo and other left-wing rags. If a few people went to jail, people would be less likely to leak information.

Dix- Army -Vietnam . The Medal of Honor is the highest military award that can be bestowed upon a member of the United States Armed Forces; Teddy Roosevelt lobbied for one but never received it and General George Patton said, “I’d sell my immortal soul for that Medal.”
President Dwight D. Eisenhower upon presenting Raymond G. “Jerry” Murphy with his Medal in 1953 commented, “What is it…something in the water out there in Pueblo? All you guys turn out to be heroes!” In 1993 Colorado Representative Scott McInnis had read into the Congressional Record information about Pueblo and it’s recipients of the Medal of Honor. He cited at that time that it was the only city to have this record of four living recipients from the same hometown. Following that declaration in the Congressional Record, the Pueblo City Council adopted the “Home of Heroes” theme.
Since then, Pueblo has continued to show it’s increased pride in military. It hosted the Congressional Medal of Honor National Convention in September of 2000 and unveiled four sculptures to Crawford, Sitter, Murphy and Dix as well as listing on granite plates the names of ALL Medal of Honor Recipients since Civil War times when the award was first created.

New Colorado law to give veterans more college credits

Colorado veterans will be able to get more college credit for their military training and experience, according to legislation that went to Gov. John Hickenlooper for final adoption this week.
State Sen. Leroy Garcia, D-Pueblo and a former Marine, is a sponsor of House Bill 1004 and said it requires all state colleges and universities to review and adopt an assessment plan for awarding education credit for military experience.
That's been an issue for veterans pursuing college degrees. They often have vast areas of military training that isn't easily converted into college credits.
"Other states have had success with these prior-learning assessment programs and we had strong support from state institutions for this," Garcia said Thursday.
He said one result should be that veterans will graduate at significantly higher rates in states.
"This will streamline our current approach to how we are having our service members transition into civilian life," Garcia said in a statement.

Democratic members of the Texas Legislature reportedly assaulted and threatened a Republican colleague over his call to immigration authorities, prompting the GOP lawmaker to say he’d defend himself with deadly force if the Democrats followed through on their threats.
Rep. Matt Rinaldi, Irving Republican, said the altercation began when he called Immigration and Customs Enforcement in response to repeated disruptions of the day’s proceedings by illegal-immigrant demonstrators over a bill targeting sanctuary cities.
According to the account he posted on social media, when Mr. Rinaldi told a group of Democrats on the floor that he had done this, he was “physically assaulted” by Rep. Ramon Romero, Fort Worth Democrat, and other Democrats had to be held back by lawmakers.
Shortly after the widely-seen altercation on the House floor, several Democratic lawmakers held a press conference where they accused Mr. Rinaldi of saying he would “put a bullet in the head” of one of their members at a second scuffle, the Associated Press reported.
Mr. Rinaldi’s statement acknowledged saying words to that effect but said they were a warning after a similar threat from Rep. Poncho Nevarez, Eagle Pass Democrat.
“During that time, Poncho told me that he would ‘get me on the way to my car.’ He later approached me and reiterated that ‘I had to leave at some point and he would get me,” Mr. Rinaldi posted.
At that point, Mr. Rinaldi made the deadly-force threat that already had been reported by the multiple news outlets.
“I made it clear that if he attempted to, in his words, ‘get me,’ I would shoot him in self-defense,” Mr. Rinaldi wrote, adding that he was now under the protection of the Texas state police.
“Several of my colleagues heard the threats made and witnessed Ramon assaulting me,” his statement concluded.

Terror Group Admits That Mayor Of New Orleans Contracted Them To Help Destroy Monuments

The battle to save the history of the Confederacy has raged for over two years now and we are seeing battle flags, monuments to soldiers, and even civil war museums being taken down, ripped apart, and shut down. This fight is not about the south vs. the north. It’s is about terror groups like Antifa gathering and demanding the removals of American history, and politicians lining their pockets. What is now happening in America is very reminiscent of Nazi Germany and it has to be stopped before all that we are is ripped away from us!
Recent developments have arisen to bring more attention to the fact that politicians of the towns that are demanding the removals are contracting terror groups such as Antifa to create havoc and deface monuments and cemeteries all to create a sense of local citizens wanting all things Confederate removed from their view, but that is far from the truth.
Flyers were copied by the hundreds and strewn around this monument of Father Abram J. Ryan, a Priest and Confederate Poet, as well as in many neighboring yards in New Orleans just days after the removal of the last of four slotted monuments were ripped from their foundations.
What was written on it should by all rights put the final nail in the coffin of Mitch Landrieu’s political coffin:
“Tired of the smoke and mirrors of the city’s earlier removals, Mitch contracted us to help arrange a more participatory spectacle for the removal of the remainder of the cities more odious monuments. Ergo, we have provided hammers and chisels for your pleasure, brought to you with just a teensy bit of embezzled tax dollars. So come one, come all! Take a few whacks! Carve your name! Chisel a penis! Mind the wet paint and have fun! P.S. Mitch also asked that we dedicate this carnival of iconoclasm to Turtle Island’s newest revolutionary formation: the Revolutionary Abolitionist Movement. So let’s burn down the American Plantation together!”
A reporter for the local news station, WDSU, took to twitter to explain what she personally saw when she arrived at the Priests statue after it had been vandalized.
While many of the same news stations turned on Confederate supporters that were in New Orleans to protest the removals, they now seem to be waking up to exactly what has been happening. Antifa was contracted by Mayor Landrieu as many Patriots had proven time and time again. The deputy mayor was even seen riding with the terrorists on the night that Antifa attacked a small and peaceful group of monument supporters.
As someone who was there for a time personally, I was able to see the corruption among the Mayor and his hired terrorists, and it sickens me to the core to know that my home state is continuing to allow Landrieu to have any kind of seat of power! They may take confederate monuments, but they will NEVER take the heart and spirit and we will fight on!
Landrieu himself stated the “We can not be afraid of the truth!” Well, here is YOUR truth sir! I hope it sees you all the way to jail.

In order for this corruption scheme to work, the Clintons would have needed first to, not only get the current DNC chair at the time to step down, but also get them to recommend Schultz for the position. NEVER has a voter registrar said anything to me about doing something about a change of address. As far as I know — the only way any of them can really know that I’m still alive is when I *do* vote.

Ex-Fairfax mayor pleads guilty to drug charge in sex-for-drugs sting

WASHINGTON — Former Fairfax City Mayor Richard “Scott” Silverthorne, who was caught in a sex-for-drugs scandal last summer, pleaded guilty Monday to a drug charge as part of a plea deal and was ordered held until his sentencing.
Silverthorne pleaded guilty to one count of distributing crystal meth in Fairfax County Circuit Court.
He had been free on bond as his case proceeded. But Judge Grace Carroll revoked that bond until Silverthorne’s sentencing in June.
The former mayor was placed in handcuffs and led away. His defense attorney Brian Drummond and more than a dozen of Silverthorne’s friends and relatives in the courtroom appeared shocked by the judge’s decision.
“He has no prior record. He’s a lifelong area resident. He’s gainfully employed and has absolutely nothing else in his history that would indicate that he’s either going to be a risk of flight or a threat to the public,” Drummond said after the hearing.
He said that Silverthorne has also cooperated throughout the case.
Silverthorne was caught up in a police sting at a Tysons Corner hotel in August. Police said they received a tip that the then-mayor was using a dating website to set up sexual encounters with men in exchange for drugs. Silverthorne was accused of giving an undercover police officer 2 grams of methamphetamine at the hotel.
He was also initially charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.
The three-term mayor resigned after his arrest. He also served as a substitute teacher for Fairfax County Public Schools and was terminated from that role.
Sentencing is set for June 9.

Squatty Potty has issued a statement denouncing Kathy Griffin over the actress’s controversial photoshoot featuring a decapitated head resembling President Donald Trump.
This denouncement comes following a video apology from a miserable-looking Kathy Griffin, who stated, “I went too far.”
That apology does not appear to have been accepted by many, including Gorilla Mindset author and popular conservative personality Mike Cernovich, who has pledged – along with Infowars – to give $1,000 to anyone who lands on CNN (which employs Griffin for its annual New Year’s Eve show) with a “CNN is ISIS” sign.
Meanwhile, The Hill reports, CNN is “evaluating” her future with the company.
“We found what she did disgusting and offensive,” the media giant said in a statement according to The Hill. “We are pleased to see she has apologized and asked that the photos be taken down. We are evaluating our New Year’s Eve coverage and have made no decisions at this point.”

No Students Are Proficient in Math And English At Six Baltimore City Schools

Six schools in Baltimore have exactly zero students who are proficient in math and English.
WBFF reports Project Baltimore led an investigation and discovered five Baltimore City high schools, along with one middle school, do not have any students who scored high enough to be deemed “proficient” in math and English on state testing.
The schools that did not have a single proficient student are Booker T. Washington Middle School, Frederick Douglass High School, Achievement Academy at Harbor City, New Era Academy, Excel Academy at Francis M. Wood High, and New Hope Academy.
According to WBFF, students are tested and scored on a scale of one through five, with a four or a five placing a student in the proficient category. At Frederick Douglass, for instance, 89 percent of students tested last year received the lowest possible score in math. Only one student received a three, which is “approaching expectations.”
Navon Warren, a student at Frederick Douglass, said he believes students were not proficient because teachers are not teaching at the same level as the tests.
Warren’s mother blamed the teachers.
“That’s your teacher’s report card. How is it that not one child passed? That makes no sense,” she asked.
WBFF notes Baltimore City Schools spends $16,000 per student per year, making it the fourth highest spending district in the country per student.
