One of the mysteries surrounding the Trump dossier is how it was received by the FBI. Despite the fact that there was nothing in the report that could be actually verified — for instance, Czech authorities say that Trump’s attorney, Michael Cohen, did not visit Prague as alleged — the FBI became totally enamored with the document. So enamored, in fact, that they offered to pay the author, Christopher Steele, $50,000 if he could dig up still more stuff on Trump. We don’t know what happened next. And we may never know. Cause of Action Institute, or CoA, a nonprofit watchdog group, wanted to know whether Steele was ever paid by the FBI to probe Trump. In March of this year, CoA filed a Freedom of Information Act request to the FBI seeking access to records to determine whether the FBI paid, or intended to pay, Steele. CoA filed a lawsuit in federal court the following month against the FBI for not responding to the request. The FBI replied to CoA last week in a letter, writing that the agency cannot speak to the potential existence of such records. “The FBI can neither confirm nor deny the existence of records responsive to your request,” the letter, signed by an official in the bureau’s Records Management Division, said. The FBI argued that it cannot acknowledge the existence of or give access to potential records concerning financial transactions with Steele because the FOIA request “implicates records the FBI may or may not compile pursuant to its national security and foreign intelligence functions.” The bureau provided other reasons for its decision not to disclose information, including concerns over privacy and interfering in ongoing federal investigations. Cause of Action Institute president and CEO John Vecchione released a statement castigating the FBI’s response. “The FBI is circling the wagons by claiming potential harm to national security if it discloses its relationship with Christopher Steele,” Vecchione said. “Regardless of whether a payment was ever made, the FBI’s affiliation with a political opposition researcher in the midst of a presidential election deserves scrutiny.” “The FBI should be forthcoming about whether and how the agency was relying upon a former foreign spy who, in the pay of private parties, compiled a report of salacious accusations intended to harm the reputation of then-candidate Donald Trump,” Vecchione added. Keep in mind the issue here is NOT what Steele produced or any evaluation of Steele’s work but whether or not appropriated funds were spent to pay for a report by him. This kind of information is not protected by FOIA and it is routinely published on agency websites. Indeed, it must be reported to Congress. There is no way divulging the expenditure of funds can impact an ongoing federal investigation particularly when the disbursement would be nearly a year old. It is pretty obvious from the vociferous nature of the refusal to answer that the FBI DID pay Steele for more investigatory work. Congress should find out who authorized a private citizen to engage in an unsupervised investigation of a candidate for president and why they thought it was a good idea.

From Washington Free Beacon A wellness center connected to a church founded by Illinois Democratic Rep. Bobby Rush has received $650,000 in taxpayer-funded government grants in 2017, public records show and has pulled in more than $15 million in grants since 2008. Rush, who was first elected to Congress in 1992, founded the Beloved Community Christian Church, a non-denominational church located in Chicago, in 2002. “I founded a church in Englewood, one of Chicago’s poorest and most fragile neighborhoods, and named it Beloved Community Christian Church,” Rush wrote in a 2011 op-ed published in the Huffington Post. “The church, once the site of a Black Panther breakfast program for children, now stands in tribute to Dr. King’s vision of the power of community. A social service center, a health center and an after school robotics program are also part of the church’s mission to care for people.” The Democratic congressman has steered hundreds of thousands in campaign funds to the church. Rush began making donations from his campaign to the Beloved Community Christian Church in 2006, just two years after it had opened. Since that time, nearly $200,000 was funneled to the church. The social services arm of Rush’s church, the Beloved Community Family Wellness Center, is a not-for-profit federally qualified health center that provides “comprehensive, accessible, timely, and affordable primary health care, preventive education, and social service programs available to the Greater Englewood and surrounding communities.” The center has received hundreds of thousands in taxpayer-funded government grants so far this year from the Department of Health and Human Services. HHS gave the center $215,384 on March 21 and added $430,768 on May 23. Since 2008, the group has been the recipient of more than $15 million in taxpayer-funded government grants. Kacy Rush, Rep. Rush’s daughter, is listed as a member of the Beloved Community Family Wellness Center on its 2014 Form 990, the most recently available filing from the group. Kacy is listed as a “director” of the wellness center on its website. Rush’s nonprofit, the Beloved Community Family Services, a network that provides “compassionate services to promote cultural, economic and social well-being,” has also received taxpayer-funded money. Rush requested a $100,000 earmark for the nonprofit that was approved in 2008. The nonprofit was awarded $305,500—$200,000 more than the initial request—which was tacked onto an appropriations bill. The Department of Justice additionally gave the nonprofit a $290,663 grant in 2008 for what was marked as “developing, testing, and demonstrating promising new programs” for “juvenile justice programs.” Another one of Rush’s nonprofits, the Rebirth of Englewood Community Development Corp., had its tax-exempt status revoked by the IRS in 2010 after it had failed to file disclosures three years in a row. Rush’s office did not return a request for comment by press time.

Jun 28, 2017 6:09 pm TheSun.co.uk There’s a horrific case over in the U.K. that hasn’t gotten a ton of attention here, but it should. If we look closely, we may see our future — and our present. Charlie Gard is a 10-month-old baby who suffers from a rare genetic disorder called mitochondrial DNA depletion syndrome. It’s a horrendous condition that leads to organ malfunction, brain damage, and other symptoms. The hospital that had been treating the boy, Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London, made the determination that nothing more can be done for him and he must be taken off of life support. He should “die with dignity,” they said. The parents, Chris Gard and Connie Yates, disagreed. Special: Body repair trick hidden by The Establishment This is the very crucial thing to understand: they are not insisting that GOSH be forced to keep Charlie on life support. Rather, they want to take him out of the hospital and to America to undergo a form of experimental therapy that a doctor here had already agreed to administer. Chris and Connie raised over $1.6 million to fund this last ditch effort to save their child’s life. All they needed the British hospital to do was release their child into their care, which doesn’t seem like a terribly burdensome request. They would then leave the country and try their luck with treatment here. However slim the chance of success may have been, it was better than just sitting by and watching their baby die. Here’s where things get truly insane and barbaric. The hospital refused to give Charlie back to his parents. The matter ended up in the courts, and, finally, in the last several hours, the European Court of “Human Rights” ruled that the parents should be barred from taking their son to the United States for treatment. According to the “human rights” court, it is Charlie’s human right that he expire in his hospital bed in London. The parents are not allowed to try and save his life. It is “in his best interest” to simply die, they ruled. In Europe, “Death with dignity” supersedes all other rights. In Europe, a mother may kill her baby but she is not allowed to keep him alive. Again: barbaric. I have heard many people rationalize this demented decision by saying “the doctors know best.” That may well be relevant and true in situations where family members are trying to force doctors to administer treatments that they, the medical professionals, know will not work. But that is not what’s happening here. The only thing these parents are trying to “force” the doctors to do is relax their grip so the child can be taken to different doctors in a different country. The doctors may be the final authority on what kinds of medical measures they personally should take, but they are not the final authority over life itself. It is one thing for them to say, “I will not do this treatment.” It’s quite another for them to say, “You are not allowed to have this treatment done by anyone. You must die.” The former is reasonable. The latter is euthanasia. This baby is being euthanized. By barbarians. I’ve seen some on social media calling this case “unimaginable” and “mind boggling.” It is certainly awful, but unfortunately it does not boggle my mind or exceed the limits of my imagination. These sorts of cases are inevitable in Europe, and, unless we make a drastic change of course, they will soon become commonplace here. The stage is already set. Just consider these three factors: (1) This is what happens with socialized medicine. If the State runs the health care system, ultimately they will be the ones who decide whose life is worth saving and whose isn’t. That’s not just a byproduct of socialized medicine — it’s the point. And it is especially risky to cede this sort of power to the government when you live in a culture that doesn’t fundamentally value parental rights or human life, which brings us to the last two points. (2) This is what happens when parental rights are subordinate to the State. This case came down to the question of who should have the final say over a child. Should it be the parents, or should it be a collection of doctors, judges, and bureaucrats? And if the parents don’t take precedence in a life or death situation, can it really be said that they have rights at all? If I have no say when my child’s very life is at stake, when do I have a say? The way things are headed in Europe, a parent may have some jurisdiction over the minor minutia of daily life, but when it comes to the major issues — how a child is to be educated, how he is to live, what he is to believe, when he is to die — it is increasingly up to the State to determine. As a “medical ethics” expert at Oxford put it, parental rights are “at the heart” of most big medical decisions, however “there are limits.” Chris and Connie apparently reached the “limits” of their parental authority and now must sit back obediently while their son dies in agony. “Limits,” you see. You’re only a parent up to a certain point, and then your relationship to your child doesn’t count for anything anymore. That’s how things are in the U.K. — and the U.S., as always, is close behind. (3) This is what happens when human life is not considered sacred. But what really is the downside of taking the child to the U.S. for treatment? It may not work, OK, but why not try? They raised enough money to pay for everything, including an air ambulance to get the baby to the treatment facility. Nobody is being burdened here. Nobody is being forced to do something they don’t want to do. What is there to lose? Well, the court answers, it’s just not worth the trouble. They’ve weighed all the variables using their various formulations, and they’ve decided that it makes no sense to go through all this trouble on the slim hope of saving this one measly life. Yes, they’ve used the excuse that the baby is “suffering,” and I’m sure he is suffering, but that doesn’t explain why the parents should be prevented from pursuing every option to ease that suffering. Death is not a treatment plan for suffering. Death is death. Death is the destruction of life. We all must experience it some day, but the inevitability of death does not negate the value and dignity of life.

That’s why you’ll hear these people speak more often of the “dignity” of death than the dignity of life. They preach about the “right” to die but not the right to live. And the laws in Europe reflect this emphasis on death instead of life. Over there, they kill children in the womb and euthanize them when they come out. They even euthanize alcoholics and depressives and other people who are by no means terminally ill. Once the right to die has been placed over the right to life, death will continue claiming new ground and eating into life more and more. Death is a destructive force. What else can it do but consume? It’s not quite as bad here yet, but we’re getting there. We already kill hundreds of thousands of children in the womb, and we often speak with admiration of people who make the “brave” decision to commit suicide. And we already, in many instances, place the authority of the State over the rights of parents. Our education system is built around that philosophy. So, as I said, the stage is set. It seems like they cannot go one week without one, or more, of their representatives facing criminal charges. The Washington Free Beacon reports that Rep. Ray Lujan (D-NM), and Rep. John Conyers (D-MI), are facing charges for different crimes. Lujan illegally used pictures from House proceedings. Conyer got caught paying his top aide extra money in an illegal fashion. Lujan is facing charges connected to a Democrat session on the House floor. Lujan used pictures from the House floor to make money through a donation fund that he had set up for his campaign. It is ILLEGAL for an elected representative to use the photos from the House floor for ANY reason. Initially, the complaint came via the Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust. The people on Lujan’s team pushed back against the foundation, but they are not giving up. He will eventually have to pay for this crime. Conyers, on the other hand, is charged in a case involving his top aide, Cynthia Martin. Martin was receiving funds to her account to the tune of $16,500 — which she refused to return. Conyers, it appears, made sure that Martin got paid from the House of Representatives, even though she no longer worked there. Allen B. West reports that Martin has since pled guilty to keeping the funds. She was put on leave. We can see that the corruption runs deep in the Democrat Party. The only way to stop them is to dismantle them piece by piece. As we examine people like Hillary Clinton, Loretta Lynch, former President Obama, and Maxine Waters, the more we realize that a TON of people are involved in grotesque amounts of corruption. It is going to be years before most of them are caught. However, if we keep following the threads we WILL be able to take down a good majority, and this should send a powerful message to the rest. You DO NOT get special rights because of your position. All of the people mentioned are supposed to be there to help this country grow and get better. They have ALL proven time and time again that they do not care about us. The only concern is pushing their agenda and lining their pockets. We are living in troubling times, but luckily we have a President who is there to CATCH people like this. He spoke of draining the swamp on the campaign trail, and now it is happening. President Trump has the Democrats shaking in their boots right now. Some of them are even TURNING on each other because they can’t handle the pressure. We watched fans of Loretta Lynch talk about how she needs to quit, and that she is presumably more toxic than Trump in some parts of the country. The study, conducted by Environmental Progress, concluded that discarded solar panels release more toxic chemicals per unit of energy than nuclear power plants: Solar panels create 300 times more toxic waste per unit of energy than do nuclear power plants. If solar and nuclear produce the same amount of electricity over the next 25 years that nuclear produced in 2016, and the wastes are stacked on football fields, the nuclear waste would reach the height of the Leaning Tower of Pisa (52 meters), while the solar waste would reach the height of two Mt. Everests (16 km). In countries like China, India, and Ghana, communities living near e-waste dumps often burn the waste in order to salvage the valuable copper wires for resale. Since this process requires burning off the plastic, the resulting smoke contains toxic fumes that are carcinogenic and teratogenic (birth defect-causing) when inhaled. The reason for this high waste is that solar panels contain lead, cadmium and chromium; the latter two are carcinogens. Cadmium, which is present in cigarette smoke, can also result in kidney problems. This is a problem for countries like Japan, which expects to see its solar panel waste increase by 10,000 to 800,000 tons a year in a span of over 20 years; it would take 19 years for Japan to recycle all the waste generated by 2020 alone. According to National Review, the United States will soon have to deal with the problem of discarded solar panel waste given that there are over "1.4 million solar-energy installations now in use, including many already near the end of their 25-year lifespan" and "that Americans with solar roofs produce 30 to 60 percent more electronic waste than non-solar households." The creation of solar panels also happens to generate toxic waste, as creating solar panels spewed "46.5 million pounds of sludge and contaminated water" in California alone from 2007 to 2011, per the Associated Press. When combining the environmental effects of manufacturing and discarding solar panels with the fact that they're still more expensive than typical sources of energy like "coal, natural gas, or nuclear," it's hard to see how it's economical or environmentally wise for the government to subsidize solar energy.

These people were doing many illicit acts that the government should have caught, but because of Obama and his soft spot for Muslims, they looked the other way.
