Was driving through town the other day and almost got sick. A truck had pulled out of a service station about the time an El Camino rounded the corner. El Camino was rocked up on two wheels and held there by the drivers side of the pickup. Sad sight. Made my stomach roll to think of all the damage.

The problem with fat wallets is the guy comes with them. lol. I guess I messed up in life..I NEVER married for money. But, sure had a blast along the way. And a lifetime hobby of cars and trucks! The thing Bub's girl should look at is when she first drives, law restricts how many kids she can take with. And if she starts with a truck she fixes up great..it is an investment for a later ride. Or..Just find her the movie..I think..called Six Pack Annie. Gal who tooled around in a pickup. Boys are nuts over trucks these days. So if she pulls up in a cool truck..she will have a ton of them hovering around her. I learned over the years...real men want real women..not dumb bimbos. Well...at at least for more than an hour. Or in some cases...5 minutes? byyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

So very true!!!

Miss Orz..... if you pulled up in my driveway in a cool truck.....

I would actually probably faint.....

I love women that drive pickups..... both my daughters have one now or have had one in the recent past.....

Hmmmmm..... maybe that is why my last "love" didn't last..... ended years ago already..... she drove a butt ugly red Saturn 4 door...... and she didn't care for my pickup cuz she was only 5'5".... so I drove my Fusion when we went out.....

I still think the 9N was the most useful tractor for general farm use.
Dad got the Case stuck once driving in FRONT of the car that was stuck. Gee..guess what happened. Neighbor heard and saw..came over with his 9N, drove in front, hooked up and pulled out tractor AND car and took off with a wave. Rode right over the mud. Dads bigger is better wasnt always the best.

My Granddaddy said having a 9N Ford on the Farm was as big a waste as sugar sweetening rhubarb....

......He did concede the 9N was good to run out to the main road to pick up the mail.. LOL

I'm pretty sure the Farmall tractor is the winner for most useful as it started in 1921 as the Regular then was the F series to the Letter series and then on to the Number series
and what every other company copied.

Both my grand parents had team of horses still in the early 50's...

.. My Grandpa Dretsch had a Steam Engine he sold when buying a Farmall "M" and "C" he bought in the late 40's and early 50's although...

....When he give up the Farm in the 70's...

........the last thing he said was the "M" owes him nothing I owe it a "THANKS!!!"..

We had a bunch of different tractors at different times, but the little one that did the big vege gardens and plowed all the snow was the little 9N Ford. Had a little 2 bottom plow and a disc and a drag for the vege gardens and a back blade and a scoop for the snow..... She was a sweetheart.

Miss orz I spoke to the fine flintlock owner this last week and like the Model T Runabout It should be in my hands come January + a few days

The 9 & 8 N fords definitely had a large following but always lost out to real farming of any size The Farmall M was the king in the 40's & 50's and was well used into the 70's
Most all the tractors of the past are retired now to show & parades no matter their past importance. many are used yet but just because the owner thinks it's now fun and not work

You will get your Christmas presents after Christmas! Cool.
The neighbor ran an lanky old Oliver diesel tractor.Tallest dang thing I ever saw. Huge wheels. Ran so slow, but talk about pull! That tractor could have hauled a traction engine across the field I think!
Guy should be around one of these days to haul out the 66. Before snow I hope. And now he saw what dealing with, hope he brings more than a come along like others.
I need to get into the car barn and jack up the roof. Broken rafters again and right over the 48 coupe!!!!ARGH!!!

- Yeah, Turf tires were never meant for snow - But chains did come with the tractor. I have a big snow blower so I'm not too concerned. This one is just something to play with and throw on a good paint job
(Needs paint). She smokes a little too, Not sure if it's fuel additive or burning oil - We shall see after a tank of fuel.
- If I would of bought a tractor and thought about snow, it would definitely be one of the newer 4 wheel drive tractors, I drove one a few years ago - They are GREAT!!!

Dad got the brainstorm once to use the tractor to break tracks through the snow in the driveway. So he went down to the cold garage and got it to start. Shoveled the doors open to get it out. And found out that a tractor with narrow front end and high tires went through snow worse than the station wagon did. Back in garage and gave up that brilliant idea. lol.

Add antifreeze to the truck today. Run into town tomorrow, check it and then park it probably for winter. Leave the trani fluid where it is and worry about it in spring. Car insurance is due for 6 months on Dec 2nd so need to drop to storage charge. Close enough I doubt truck will be driven anymore.
Tenant was up talking to boarder and I. And boarder opened hood on car to show him the engine. So the usual response..tenant starts checking fluids. And car is OVER two quarts low! Border said he just had oil change at Farm and Fleet two months ago. I lit into him...dont you ever check stuff! Want to blow this one up like the Nissan idiot!!! Now...Chrysler Sebring has 160k only. Doesnt smoke. So..oil drips? Or did Farm and Fleece not put all oil in? Did they even do change? WE told him take it into Steve's from now on! Screw idiot kids at box stores. I rooted and all oil was non detergent 30. But did find one detergent 30 to add. Now Joe said these new engines die on heavy oil. Use 5W30. Manual does say 10W30 in summer. But 30 weight better than low over two!
