That companies are allowed to promote medical products (back and knee braces) advising that "If you are on Medicare" you may now owe a dime. That should be illegal. Some people will buy anything if they think insc. or Medicare will pay for it.

Pouring RAIN! And woodshed arbors are leaking like a sieve. ARGH!!! I put a new polycarb roof ON! And I swept off ice slush and set buckets all over. I see that I may need to put a guttering along under the side of the porch roof edge. It comes off the house and runs off the side onto the flat arbor roofs.

Feels guilty to say but it's 78* windy, partly cloudy. I'm killing a few mins. Sitting here in the parking lot with the windows down and feeling comfortable. I could take a nap.

Not grouchy, or at least hope not. Too early to tell and haven't scolded the dog yet this morning. Bad night, just couldn't sleep. Maybe I am a bit grouchy.

Just trying to count my blessings with the huge ice strom that is rolling in and hoping as promised that it stays north of here. Sure are feeling for those who will be hit with it because it certainly looks like power will be out and travel impossible for days. If you're in this things path, make sure you have enough emergency supplies to endure. Stay safe.

Star, not that this is the same problem but a friend of mine had a back up with her A/C in the summer. It kicked the breaker everytime it tried to come on. She called the fix it man and he put an air hose on the condensation/drain line and blew it out. It was clogged with algae so badly that the condensation was backing up. Took about 30 minutes and A/C worked like a charm.

I think I see. When the gas went in the farmhouse I was told the new efficient ones pull water out. And have to be in a heated area and either drained or panned. The new one ended up in the LR with a pan to empty because no where else to put it.
So did it cause the sewer freeze or coincidence?

UCK, another pre-dawn waking. This habit has got to stop. Heck, thinking I may just start living the graveyard shift and sleep all day. Whatever, no where I plan to go today and the door is locked and someone had better not ring the doorbell. I have things I want to do to satisfy my domestic side and I'm actually looking forward to it. Going to toss a roast in the crockpot in a little while and then prepare a yogurt pie to top it off.

The yogurt pie is really simple and so good. Use a box of jello (any flavor that you can match with yogurt). Melt the jello with 1/4 cup of boiling water but must keep stirring to keep the jello from turning to a sheet of rubber with such little water. One the jello is melted, add two tubs of Yoplait yogurt (I really like the Key Lime). Add whipped cream and stir well. Pour over a graham cracker crust which is very good if mixing crushed pecans in it, but that's a personal option. Chill for about 45 minutes and the jello sets up to make it firm and fluffy. Great for the summer if frozen and is almost like a dream pie.

So that's my plans today and my grouch for lack of sleep is over.

When Joe is here, he sleeps 10 hours or more. At home he says he wakes up 4 am, 5 am or 6 and just gets up. Of course he neglects to think of the time he sleeps in his chair watching youtube. Hmmm.
I missed something..yogurt pie? Must be mentioned farther back up. Anyway..how much whip cream?
As far as jello..I am the only person who screws it up. I use boiling water. Stir til dissolved. Frig after adding the cold. And when done and set..bottom is always rubber. Mom used to say how can you screw up JELLO?! Knack I guess.

Orz, the yogurt pie is like this.

Use jello that is of the same flavor as the yogurt you choose. I particularily like the key lime, so I use lime jello.

As with the jello turning to rubber in this recipe it is because of so little water to completely dissolve the jello powder. You must stir really well with boiling hot water until all the powder is dissolved.

The recipe is:

1 box of jello (flavor of choice)

1/4 cup boiling water. (but absolutely no more than 1/2 cup. Stir constantly until jello is dissolved. Do not add the cold water that is normally used for jello. Only the small amount of boiling water to melt the powder.

2 tubs of Yoplait yogurt (flavor to match the jello of choice). Add to jello and stir well. Add to the hot jello.

Half a tub of Dream Whip. Add to the warm jello. It will basically melt and blend in.
You will know when you've added enough by watching the color weaken.

Pour over a bed of crushed graham cracker crust (crush graham crackers and mix with melted butter).

Put in the refrigerator for at least 1/2 hour and it will set up quickly.

Star, do you have a backup heat source? That is what bothers me about my house. Total electric and no other means for heat except perhaps a space heater and I'm scared to death of those things. Have one of the Eden Pure units, but will absolutely not run it for more than a half hour at a time, and will not have it out of my sight while it's on. Each year when the heat is needed there are so many house fires and it makes me think it is from an unattended space heater. My one big fear is to have my house catch fire.

~ ugh, need drugs .... Pinch in my back has got ahold of me. My OTC stuff isn't much help. I'll be glad when I can get a good relationship with a new Dr. that can work with me without a lot of hoop jumping. My granddaughters closed Hello Kitty umbrella is starting to look like a cane to me! But the tip isn't safe. I've never used a cane but I'm seriously thinking I need to get one if they can't do something soon. and put my pride aside. Spied some ailes away at drug store. From a distance I couldn't make myself go check them out. Even from the distance they looked so "medical" I want something a bit cooler looking. Wood or something. It would just be a temporary thing I'm sure. Hell getting old, it ain't for sissies!!!
I try not to grouch but this has been going on for weeks.

Ok, that's off my chest. Echo is that it is a beautiful day!!! I'm so blessed to be with family that loves and supports me.

Oh I got my granddaughter all tickled. She is 10, loves animals and is reading a series about "Spirit Animals" and how the animal choose you and how her Spirit Animal is a panther and it based on her agility etc. I told her in that case my spirt animal, for now, is a "Sloth".
Now if I can find a picture of a Sloth that makes it look mystical and might. *note to self: good luck with that Nana *

My spirit animal is a doe. I wrote to Wrigglys to b*tch about hiding aspartame in all their gums.. Got a long email defending how safe it is and it makes flavor last longer. Bull..it is cheaper. But, they said they are now going to issue a Doublemint Simply Sweet with no additives and made with sugar. So un-grouch?

Infernal Cheshire cat! I have learned to be sneaky..muddle around and evict cats at night slowly. And still...where is Butch, Indigo and Two Spot. Ha..B and I are under the sewing cabinet. Poked B out with yard stick..Indigo I have to reach over chair and grab. Now where is Two. I went over the house with a flashlight THREE TIMES! NO cat. WTH? Finally thought,well...maybe she went out when Fuzz got home..or I tossed her earlier and forgot. Cant hunt all night so went to bed. Sure enough..4:30 in the night..she jumped on the bed and woke me. She took off and I got up. She was in LR all sweet and nice. Picked her up and tossed her out. I swear I have an invisible CAT!

Oh I used it for sure. Man is that thing NICE! It lights up like a flood lite. I was tempted to set off the charge and scare her out from where she was hiding. Havent seen that possum again..RATS! Joe figured out how it works. Button on bottom, not worry about light on off switch. Then hit tiny button. He set it off in the air and scared the cats around AND me with the noise! I am afraid to test it again. lol.
Played nasty now, blocked underneath of sewing cabinet. Last night left the cats in and then later fed them their half can of tinned. And locked them in the kitchen while they ate. Take that brats! So easy out...no where to hide.

Poor guys..just never ends does it? Only grouch I have is Joe is coming up tonight so we can turn around and drive back to his city tomorrow. Why? Because the casino gives you free play on birthday. And down by his..spin the wheel and get 5-50. Up here..you get 5 and shut up about it. I went on line to read comments on the Dells casino. Wow! Crappy food, crappy hotel, crappy payouts. Of course. It is a tourist mecca and they have the attitude of the Dells. Screw the sucker tourists cause they are here. And if they dont like it..tomorrow will be a new bunch to rip off. So we have to drive 50 miles to Madison to hit that casino. Oh well..get an extra night trying to hang onto my blankets.

Just walked out to open the gate so dog can get out of the backyard. Always shut it just before dark hoping the coyotes can't get to her when she's out after dark. I noticed that my rose bushes are full of new sprouts and with the forcasted temps to be 70 degrees for 4 days running, they are finished. When the temps crash and no telling how low, they are history.

My grouch this morning is funny. The joke was on me.

A couple weeks ago I found an old blanket of my mothers which I had meant to toss in the camping stuff, but it was lost on the top shelf of my closet. I took it down with full intentons of putting it in the camping stuff. NOPE, laid on the foot of the bed and on with other chores for the day. Then when my little pooch went off at 1:30 AM the other night and was looking at the bedroom window I haven't really become comfortable since. So I have been sleeping in a small recliner beside the window of the bedroom. It is comfortable so keeping with that being my bed each night.

So sleepy yesterday late afternoon that I had to fight it and too late to power nap or it would mess with sleep last night. Had fought all I was going to and readied for bed by 10:30. Let the dog out for her last run and came down the hallway and hit the thermostat to lower the heat. I like to sleep where it's cool. Snuggled down in the recliner beneath Mom's old soft blanket. Must have turned the thermostat down a little too much because sometime in the night the dog decided she wanted to share the warmth of the blanket. My recliner is the small model and just enough room for me. She opted for the foot rest and her weight tipped the recliner and almost dumped my hindend in the floor. Would have had the footrest not hit the floor and stopped it.

So....not sure if I love that UGLY blanket as much as I thought.

My grouch is as soon as I un-ass my office chair to get something..one of the cats leaps from the other chair to claim IMMEDIATELY. Just once would like to come back and not have to evict one.
And how can a cat completely vanish when it comes time to go out for the night. I take the flashlight and search under, over, between all over the house. NO cat when I know one is still inside. And then clank the cat food can and here it comes! How DO they do that!??

Sounds like my little dog. She's deaf when it comes to wanting her to do something, but touch a piece of cheese and she can hear the wrapping crinkle clear to the other end of the house.

Darn it!
My neighbor got a piece of glass to replace the broken one in my back door and the glass broke
when he tried to cut it.

I know that hit you hard, but your expense is much less than a friend if mine. Her new model washer went on the blink yesterday and repair estimate is $400 plus to replace the mother board. From what I'm hearing from those that own one of these things I wouldn't have one if it was free.

No grouch. Severe storms given for wee hours of this AM and half expected to be blown to the next county as the temps crashed from 80 degrees to low 30's overnight. NOPE, still warm outside and the sun is bright.

I'm OK warm and cozy here in my house and I have to go to a menu change meeting at work!
Crap!
