The schools in this area now send a list via email or text as to what the kids need for the classroom. Now, they ask for paper towels, tissues, and everything else. Don't even think of a little one falling and scraping it's knee. Touch it without rubber gloves. The list goes on and on. My son commented the other day about all the ruled notebook paper the kids were required to have, but he never once saw a paper the teacher had graded on said paper. Didn't return them back to the kids but handed a typed report to the kid to bring home.

I might get a new shirt, shoes if the old ones were too small, standard school supplies and we didn't need a backpack in those days!

My first job had a cooler like that. After awhile they couldn't get the bottles anymore but the machine couldn't be adjusted to the current price, but it still made a great cooler.

~ I remember when the house smelled like a Christmas tree during the season because it was real.

~ Then again, I also remember these. My in-laws had one.

^^^ You know they are making a comeback?! I guess for folks that want to get a little nostalgic I guess. Actually, I would not mind a little small table size one myself, just for fun.

I love a live tree but such a pain to do it on my own. So I have a really pretty artificial one that I got for a steal at a garage sale. AND I have a Charlie Brown tree that I always set up on my table if I don't take it to work. I could put the little aluminum tree on the kitchen counter. *lol*

I found an old one years ago. Take the aluminum branches and stick in a vase. Makes a cool ornament display. I eyed up a small tree..nah..forget it. I need to figure out where I stuck the little first fiber optic one when it quit. ??

The only thing a tree means now is work. For what.

I'd do it for the wife and kids and grandkids, but since I don't have any of those it just seems like a lot of work, putting it up and taking it down.

Not sure if I'll do one this year or not.
But I do enjoy a Christmas tree in all its glory

I guess there is going to be a tree here this year.

Daughter moved back in after leaving "Mr. Wonderful" and says she is going to do a tree for my grand daughter.....

Shiny Brite ornaments. I just read about them. Some are collectable. They were sold in Woolworth. Still have a few. And see they had names...beehive, UFO..I have some UFO left. Now a company is going to start making them again. So a new generation can enjoy the shiny, fragile ornaments that shatter when dropped.
