... And at night it went in PARENTS bedroom. Dad had a tiny fan in his shop. I remember laying on the bed miserable on hot nights.
Boy does that bring up memories. Dad always took the fan and the rest of us cooked all night.

I still have two rotary phones. The Princess by bed and the black one in hall. I can answer them..just cant dial out. Man is the sound different on them from new crappy phones.
Christmas. Having dad go up in the attic for the decorations. Clear out coat closet, pile on their bed..bring ladder up from basement. Dad stuffing himself in and up and then handing down the boxes. What a hassle!

The early Wisconsin air cooled motor was hand crank & I can remember them on hay balers.
They started ok cold but if stoped hot they would never start again till cold but everyone took their turn's at cranking until it did start, two hours later

Our Case wouldnt start once. Neighbor said to dad..do you have a crank..uh..yes. Bring it. Dad put the crank in and neighbor said I will do it. Used to it and you arent. If that sucker kicks back it can break your wrist. So he started it for dad.
I remember spending New Year or Xmas eves huddling under a heat lamp with a ewe and lamb waiting for another ewe to have her lamb. Cold to say the least!

That's what otc painkillers are for. Naproxem Sodium better known as Aleve.
Best thing I've found.About four dollars for 100 pills taken only two per day.
I remember when I didn't need anything to get through my day.
I have chronic arthritis.

I understand your point and you may be right or maybe not as you did say at work.
Now my kids & grandkids not at work but can make me feel this way also but I have learned over the years I can not tell most times at the time But at some other time I learn that they did listen or did pay attenchen to what I did say or tried to teach them
They just don't want us to know it
I have a real good one coming soon for Sean 15 years old.
The model T I just bought is at my friends place He is 10 years older Than I but is a true great Mechanic & loves Model T's. He has my car to fix every problem he can find.
Well he found one as he was trying to climb a big hill in high Gear & lost the transmission bands so now they need replaced with new Kevlar bands.
My plan is to take Sean over to him and with his guidance Sean will do most all the work of fixing a model T transmission I think Sean will remember something

Absolutely..... one of the lousy parts of being a senior is watching your friends pass.....
You will love the Kevlar bands in your T. I wonder why he tried the hill in high gear? Never went up a big one in high gear unless we had a helluva good run at it with some speed. (Speed in a T... LOL). Many time crept up in low or even turned around and went up in reverse due to the gear ratio.....
DAMMIT Star!!! Now you have me missing Model T's...... no, Bub, no. No more cars.....

It amazes me to find a "kid" who has his shit together..interested in learning about the past and learning skills.
There is an all graduates of town reunion on the 23rd in the park in town. Thinking...after FIFTY years from mine. Would there be anyone NOT a stranger there if I go?

What was the dodge push button shift on the dash ?
The 2 speed was Powerflite and the 3 speed was Torqueflite. Used in the whole Chrysler line up from 1954 to around 1961 for the 2 speed and 1956 to 1965 for the 3 speed. It used a cable to shift rather than solid linkage.

Fluid drive was a automatic strait shift, you could stop with just the brake and go again in any gear with no Clutch. to shift gears you used the clutch. Weird but if not hotroding it was kinda nice Had a friend that had this in his 53 ply.

Bro in law collected those crazy push button Plymouths. See they have gone forward to the past in cars today and offer push button shift again. My Dodge is just plain old shift 3 and reverse on the tree. I remember when an owners manual was maybe 20 pages. The one with the 02 is the size of a dictionary! I once could get into any car and drive it. Now stare at a dash and cant even figure out how to start it! Remember the toaster that did one side at a time. And the ones that had light, medium or dark for choices. Now I expect to see one that tones the bread top to bottom!
