Yup..... I remember the Airwick with the little wire frame you pulled up. Got plenty of warnings about that. And yea, todays mothballs seem like they are nothing. Like maybe the moths they got them from were impotent. Used to use them to keep the critters away from the cars in storage. Then had to air the car out for weeks in the spring..... not anymore.....

the hard rock candy that came in the Civil Defense shelters. My Dad was heavily involved with the CD as he was Asst Chief of our city's police dept. When they abandoned the shelter program, they were to throw out everything. He brought home a big tin of that hard candy. Lasted for years. Took you about 2 hours, I think< to get one piece to dissolve in your mouth. Cherry and lemon "sorta" flavored.

Hard candy and Brach by the pound. Ribbon candy that developed sharp edges just like the other hard candy and cut your tongue. Wonder if that is why it was called ribbon candy. Cut your tongue to ribbons.

well, I was a city girl, but I still replaced the driveline in our Ford Bronco, in the driveway, while my ex was gone on the truck.. and when he put the 440 Mag in the 68 Cuda, I had to do the plug changing because my hands were small enough to change them without having to drop the engine..

That reminded me of days helping the ex as he worked on autos. Gosh that was soooo long ago. One of the fun projects was souped up the VW Super Beatle to do auto crosses, gosh we had a blast with that thing and won a few of the things we competed in. He did stuff to the engine to make it run faster and put on a sway bar so it took corners better, I think that's what it was called, it had a moon roof and we actually got after market a/c in it. Loved it would not mind having one today. Fun fun fun.

I remember that but don't ask me what I did yesterday, ain't that the way it goes.

I got called into the gas station once by husband. Somehow something got dropped into the gas filler and into the tank on a customers car. And he figured I had small hands and he knew I could fold them. So I got to stick my hand into the filler, reach the item and pull it out. Now I think..what if my hand had gotten stuck. Boy were we dumb when young!
Remember when we would have NEVER paid more than $6 a pair for jeans. And we tossed ripped ones in trash as too bad to wear to the BARN! Much less the barn DANCE!

I remember when they didn't really have jeans that were for the female shape.

I would take a pair of my brothers jeans and what we called "pegged" them, this was sewing the inseams and crotch area in a way that it made them hip-huggers and bell bottoms. I'll always remember on of my favorite pair was some Levi button fly jeans. He grew out of them so it wasn't like I messed up his good jeans.

Did you call them hip-huggers, pants that road lower?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't recall people having muffin tops like they do today wearing pants that ride on the hips. They don't ride on the hips anymore they are just tided at that level and spill over. Now I know I don't have any hour glass figure but still it drives me nuts to see that.

I remember seeing a gal with hip huggers and her panties were showing above. Thought it was disgusting. Didnt know one day it would be a trend! I agree..muffin tops are NOT cool and sexy! I can still get away with hip huggers but dont. Not board flat anymore and refuse to pretend I look like 18. I do still wear my bell bottoms tho. I used to tailor all my jeans too. Now take the legs back out to fit. lol.

I took them in to fit and then swoop into the bell. Elephant legs made super bells. I know about the sizes..it is nuts. I remember when I wore a size 8. Order out of catalog, shop anywhere...8!! then Jrs came into being and 7. Now...each pant is different fit and each company. I have some that are 3s. ARE THEY NUTS! I didnt wear a 3 when I WAS 3!! What next..they do have size zero already. Oh..I wear a MINUS 8? Who do they think they are fooling. And friend pointed out..watch it cause now they do size 3> in a large size. So you see your size and think..oh..and it is actually a 24 or 3X. And I know I cant fit in some of my old 7s so I KNOW I haven't shrunk to a 3!!!

I was just using white-out on my calendar, pre-coffee and managed to write something on the wrong page, doh, ANYWAY .... the white out was old and and kind of dry so I ended up helping it cover wiping it with my finger, you ask what in the heck does that have to do with days of old?? .....

Well I'mgonnatoldyou ..... I went to wash the now chalky looking white stuff from my fingers and I was immediately reminded of polishing my children's Stride Rite baby shoes. I would always manage to get it on my hands and fingers and we would even polish the shoe laces so they would be nice and white.

........
