Trump acknowledges Russia role in U.S. election hacking: aide

By Toni Clarke and Dustin Volz | WASHINGTON

President-elect Donald Trump accepts the U.S. intelligence community's conclusion that Russia engaged in cyber attacks during the U.S. presidential election and may take action in response, his incoming chief of staff said on Sunday.

Reince Priebus said Trump believed Russia was behind the intrusions into the Democratic Party organizations, although Priebus did not clarify whether the president-elect agreed that the hacks were directed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"He accepts the fact that this particular case was entities in Russia, so that's not the issue," Priebus said on "Fox News Sunday."

It was the first acknowledgment from a senior member of the Republican president-elect's team that Trump had accepted that Russia directed the hacking and subsequent disclosure of Democratic emails during the 2016 presidential election.

Trump had rebuffed allegations that Russia was behind the hacks or was trying to help him win, saying the intrusions could have been carried out by China or a 400-pound hacker on his bed.

With less than two weeks until his Jan. 20 inauguration, Trump has come under increasing pressure from fellow Republicans to accept intelligence community findings on Russian hacking and other attempts by Moscow to influence the Nov. 8 election. A crucial test of Republican support for Trump comes this week with the first confirmation hearings for his Cabinet picks.

A U.S. intelligence report last week said Putin directed a sophisticated influence campaign including cyber attacks to denigrate Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and support Trump.

The report, commissioned by Democratic President Barack Obama in December, concluded vote tallies were not affected by Russian interference, but did not assess whether it influenced the outcome of the vote in other ways.

Quote from nuffan:
The idea the Russians are behind it, is comical...

It is like the Democrats want a pass on what was leaked because it was the Russians...had the Russians not done this, we would have gotten away with it...lol

but when the source of the leaks comes out and says it was an insider...not Russians...

Perhaps the whole Russian outrage is simply deflection....

Wiki leaks busted the republicans under Bush...when they LEAKED the truth about the wars...

I have no doubt Russians and other governments TRY to influence our elections...Hell the USA has a long track record for interfering with other countries around the globe...

So the fact there is some intelligence that lead to Russians trying to influence is likely TRUE...

it just does not have anything to do with Wiki leaks and the information they leaked....

That's pretty much where I am with it ,as well.

President-elect Donald Trump again discounted the possibility that Russia was behind the hacking of U.S. political organizations, including the Democratic National Committee’s servers, despite evidence to the contrary.

All 16 government intelligence agencies and at least three private security firms have independently investigated the security breaches and concluded that the Russian government — in the words of the U.S. Intelligence Community — “directed” the hacking “to interfere with the US election process.”

Same US Intelligence Community that told us Iraq had WMD's?

Again it does not matter...

The SOURCE of the Leaks...Wiki Leaks said their information DID NOT COME FROM THE RUSSIANS...The leaked informations came from a DNC insider...

So that information was leaked without any Russian involvement...

Was it the Russians that hacked the information when wiki leaks told the truth about Iraq war?

You want to equate the two to take the spotlight off what was leaked...

BOTH could be very true...

but the information leaked by Wiki leaks was not leaked through Russian hacking...

Nor does it matter...

How it got leaked...and the reality of what was leaked are two completely different issues...

I will bet you there is not a single year since the 1950's that the Russians have not tried to hack US information...nor is there an election since the 1950's that they have not tried to influence...

Hell JFK's assassin was linked to the Russians...Whether or not he killed JFK for the Russians is moot...He is dead either way...

Bush team took their US Intelligence info and lied to our lawmakers and American public. I suppose you don t believe that happened any more than Russia being involved in hacking? What do you get paid per word to lie? 25 cents?

The only thing more traitorous to everything this country once stood for than voting for this narcissistic fascist wannabe dictator is seeing what his vision is for American over the last 10 days and still supporting him. Obviously the old saying "Fool me once, shame on you...Fool me twice, shame on me" doesn't work on people whose hate, racism, bigotry, misogyny, xenophobia, and stupidity are so entrenched that they have no shame at all.

The WIZARD of HATE is NOW in charge! Pull back the curtain, and realize the danger. "Dorothy, We are Not In Kansas Anymore!"

Yesterday, the President removed the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Director of National Intelligence from the National Security Council ; an unprecedented move in American History!

In other words, the two most senior military men in the nation are no longer invited to attend the meetings where the National security decisions are made.
In their place, he has appointed Steve Bannon, a person with no government, intelligence or high-level military experience.

Bannon's only experience is leading a propaganda outlet (Breitbart News) that peddles nationalist and white nationalist viewpoints.

To recap the absurdity: the President just appointed a nationalist white supremacist. who is, pulling all of the strings.

Even if you voted for DJT; perhaps you believed he would make things better for you, please WAKE UP!! This is a very dangerous man. He does not have your interests at heart!

What You Can Do:

- Call your Senators and Congressperson and demand they publicly and legislatively oppose Trump’s appointment of Steven Bannon to the NSC.
- Spread the word about this news to your networks since this is not getting a enough coverage right now.

It means Julian Assange and Wiki leaks had the information and regardless of what Russia did or did not do...the information leaked would have been leaked...

Election Integrity Is Under Assault

The integrity of our elections is under systematic assault by leftist activists and politicians whose objective is clearly to manipulate the elections for their own gain. Judicial Watch investigators have evidence that special interests, government entities, and even the current administration are:

Refusing to force states to clean their voter rolls of deceased and moved voters;

Fighting state efforts to require voters to show a photo ID at the polls;

Failing to enforce our federal laws against illegal immigration and effectively ending the deportation of illegal aliens, thereby swelling the population of potential illegal voters.

And as Judicial Watch uncovers more and more evidence of the breadth and scale of this effort, it is becoming clear that the objective of what we are seeing is to get leftist candidates elected. That’s why Judicial Watch is taking action by suing states to force them to clean their voter rolls. We invite you to join our effort now by taking action to support our Election Integrity Project.

Sheriff David Clarke gave his take on whether the United States should bring in more refugees. http://bit.ly/2keoAPK

back in 2011 when Barack Obama banned Iraqi refugees for six months the far left said nothing! In 2011 the US discovered Al-Qaeda terrorists living as refugees in Kentucky. As a result of this discovery the Obama administration blocked all Iraqi refugees from entering the US for six months.

I am absolutely loving the tears... for 8 years these same folks sat idly by while Obama ran roughshod over the Constitution and skirted the law and went around Congress with his pen and his phone... and NOW all of the sudden they're awake. Good! I paid attention the past 8 years while they were on cruise control - it's their turn now and i'll take a nap. Keep up the good work Donald J. Trump ...kk

"They shut down airports all weekend over Syrians. Then Trudeau said he would take them. Then the shooters turned out to be Syrians!"

this is definitely one of those silly (untrue) sentiments.
its not really a laughing matter.....

Quebec City court clerk Isabelle Ferland identified Alexandre Bissonnette and Mohamed el Khadir as the suspects. Police later said one of them was just a witness, though they did not say which.

One was arrested at the scene and another nearby, in his car on a bridge near d’Orleans where he called 911 to say he wanted to cooperate with police. Police said they did not believe there were other suspects but were investigating.

Police didn’t give a possible motive for the attack.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Quebec Premier Philippe Couillard both characterized the attack as a terrorist act, which came amid heightened tensions worldwide over President Donald Trump’s travel ban on several Muslim countries. Neither leader specified who carried out the attack or what the motive might be.

Trump called Trudeau to express condolences to the Canadian people and to offer any assistance that might be needed, Trudeau’s office said.

“We condemn this terrorist attack on Muslims in a center of worship and refuge,” Trudeau said in an earlier statement. “It is heart-wrenching to see such senseless violence. Diversity is our strength, and religious tolerance is a value that we, as Canadians, hold dear.

Trudeau had earlier reacted to Trump’s visa ban for people from some Muslim-majority countries by tweeting Saturday: “To those fleeing persecution, terror & war, Canadians will welcome you, regardless of your faith. Diversity is our strength #WelcomeToCanada.”

Trudeau also posted a picture of himself greeting a Syrian child at Toronto’s airport in late 2015. Trudeau oversaw the arrival of more than 39,000 Syrian refugees soon after he was elected.

the news on this event keeps changing....hmmmmm what the????? its impossible to say
who the idiot shooters really are or what was their agenda

BY AMY MORENO JANUARY 29, 2017
Obama and his five presidential predecessors all used their executive powers to temporarily ban certain immigrants, including Muslims from entering the United States.

Were liberals outraged and protesting over that?

The protests and outrage we’re witnessing now appears to be more anti-Trump nonsense from the bitter left.

From Washington Examiner

Obama has barred huge groups of potentially dangerous immigrants from entering the United States at least six times, undercutting his claim that barring Muslims from terrorist countries as Donald Trump has proposed is un-American.
In his first ban, according to a search of White House records, Obama instituted a ban on “immigrants or nonimmigrants” covered by a larger United Nations travel ban. He also included those on an economic sanctions list. Most countries were Muslim.

He cited the very same section of law that many critics of his policies have asked him to use, “section 212(f) of the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952.” It says, “Whenever the president finds that the entry of aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, the president may, by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or non-immigrant’s or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.”
He used the same provision five other times, one more in 2011, twice in 2012 and twice in 2014. In those, he targeted people aiding Iran, Syria, Crimea, and those involved in war crimes.
Still, in his latest tirade against Trump’s call for a ban on Muslims from terror nations, Obama said such bans violate the American way.
In reaction to the Orlando terror attack, Trump said, “When I’m elected, I will suspend immigration from areas of the world where there is a proven history of terrorism against the United States, Europe or our allies until we fully understand how to end these threats.”
Obama ripped him. “That’s not the America we want,” he said. “It doesn’t reflect our democratic ideals. It will make us less safe.”
White House documents also show that former President Bill Clinton issued six immigrant bans; George W. Bush six immigrant bans; and former President Ronald Reagan four. And in 1980, former President Jimmy Carter banned Iranians after Tehran seized the U.S. embassy.
Below are Obama’s actions:
— July 25, 2011. Barred those under a UN travel ban, or who broke 29 executive orders covering transactions with terrorists.
— Aug. 4, 2012. Banned anybody involved in war crimes, or just about any other crime including human rights violations.
— April 23, 2012. Barred those helping Syria or Iran, or involved in human rights abuses for those governments.
— May 1, 2012. Another block on those helping Iran and Syria.
— April 3, 2014. Banned anyone known to threaten South Sudan.
— March 6, 2014 . Barred entry of those claiming government authority in the Crimea region of Ukraine, presumably on behalf of Moscow.

Maggie, get real. The Obama administration never revealed the “anonymous” sources of this “Russia did it” hacking thing. And Intelligence officials denied to Alex Jones and other that Russia did it. It’s one of those “just trust me” things. And nobody in their right mind trusts the Obama administration or its Ministry of Propaganda, the Major News Media. Thank the Good Lord those days are over, at least for now.

As Nuffan points out, it is next to impossible to beak the inscription code that was being used. The sources were from within our own Government, and the sources have come out and said they are not Russians, they are sources from within the Federal Government who are fed up with the corruption and lies. It is a coup from within out own Government, and thank the Good Lord for them.

Your problem, Maggie, is that you take everything the Government and Ministry of Propaganda as gospel truth. Obama, himself, admitted to his former Minister Wright that his biggest fault was lying. And the government itself, only it does not call them lies, they have an official name for it, they call it “disinformation”: “We’ll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false” (Edgar Casey, director of CIA from 1981 to 1987, stated during an early meeting of the CIA). This disinformation program is part of the Federal Government’s phy-op operation against the American people. And you Government shills here have married yourselves to these lies and made them part of your psychological frame of reference, or else, you know you are lying and are deliberately lying to help our corrupt, Illuminati control Federal Government. “The further a society strays from the truth the more it will hate those who speak it.” – (George Orwell). If you didn’t depend on the Major News Media, the Governments Ministry of Propaganda, and trust the Illuminati puppets to tell you the truth, you would not be turning everything upside down and calling truth lies and lies truth.

A nation cannot be great when it is based on Lies and on war against God. Thank the Good Lord for Trump, he is overthrowing the Illuminati puppets who have ruled our nation for some time now, and making America great again.

Trump knows very well who did the hacking, he’s been informed, and he did not acknowledge that Russia did the hacking. What he acknowledged was that all foreign nations hack, as do we.

The bottom line is that Hillary lost because of Hillary herself, because her corruption and lies became public knowledge. People were disgusted with what was going on within the DNC and the Hillary campaign, they resented the lies and corruption within the Obama administration and the DNC. You, Maggie, have redefined the term "lie" to mean anything that contradicts what the Obama administration and the DNC and its propaganda machine say. So you have turned the term on its head, calling truth lies, and lies truth. A good investigator does not do that.

Canadian Newspaper Compiles List of Almost 500 Trump Lies During Campaign

Lyin' Donald: 101 Of Trump's Greatest Lies
April 11, 2016
By Hank Berrien

When Politico attempted to measure how many lies Trump told over the course of 4.6 hours of speeches, they found that he lied, on average, once every five minutes. When Huffington Post catalogued his lies over the course of just one town hall event, they came up with 71 lies.

Which made it relatively easy to come up with this not-even-close-to-complete list of 101 lies from Donald Trump.

look, citydimwitlies does not like the memes i post, she complained about that incessantly,(b*tched is the term she/he/it preferred to use, rather than
'complained' cuz she is just plain rude and crude), she/he/it complained
incessantly (b*tched) about my posting of articles that were tooooooo long to read, she/he/it complained that i never used my own words,(obviously she/he/it couldnt
read) then she/he/it would complain(b*tch) about my thoughts and
opinions....ugh!!! she/he/it is just a tool and she never posted ANYTHING that was
coherent or thoughtful or relevent. im glad to be done with her.

Julie Bishop confirms Australia will support Donald Trump's Muslim ban

Foreign Minister Julie Bishop has confirmed that Australia will support Donald Trump's controversial Muslim visa ban and tough border control policies...

'The Australian government is working very closely with the administration and the US officials and we want to ensure that Australians continue to have access to the United States, as they have in the past, and people from the United States have access to Australia.'
Treasurer Scott Morrison also jumped to Mr Trump's defence, reasoning that the newly-elected president was simply fulfilling an election promise.

'They've had an election and the president has implemented what he said he would do,' he said on 2GB radio on Monday morning.
A spokeswoman for Foreign Minister Julie Bishop says officials are in talks with US counterparts to get clarity on how the temporary ban on those from Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen may affect dual nationals.

'The Australian embassy in Washington is engaging with US officials on the potential implications of the suspension for Australian travellers, including dual nationals,' a spokeswoman told AAP in a statement.
All travellers are being warned that rules could change at short notice.
'Travellers should contact the nearest embassy or consulate of the United States for the most current information,' the spokeswoman added.
Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull is also believed to have secured a deal with Donald Trump and the United States to accept asylum seekers from Nauru and Manus Island - despite a vast majority coming from the banned countries.
It's understood Mr Trump agreed to honour the agreement struck under the Obama administration during a 25-minute phone conversation with Mr Turnbull on Sunday.
Mr Morrison told 2GB radio that the government had 'been able to secure the continuance of this arrangement under President Trump'.

NEWS AGENCY PUBLISHES 'FAKE NEWS' ON MOSQUE SHOOTING
Had warned 'of people unable or unwilling' to sort out truth

Not long after publishing a grave warning of the consequences of “fake news,” the Daily Beast news website fell for a fake report claiming two “white supremacists” were in custody after the mosque shooting in Quebec on Sunday in which six people were killed.

The news site picked up on a fake news story spread by a parody Twitter account that it mistook for the newswire Reuters, Breitbart News reported.

The Daily Beast reported: “Police said two suspects were in custody after the attack. They were identified as white supremacists ‘David M. J. Aurine’ and ‘Mathieu Fornier,’ according to Reuters. This is not the first time the mosque has suffered from a hate crime. In July, a pig’s head was left at the mosque.”

The Daily Beast’s source, @ReutersBrk, posted the false account with the heading “Reuter New Braek” next to a Reuters logo that was missing the “s” in Reuters.

The account, which has spread numerous other hoaxes, has since been suspended by Twitter.

Heavy.com said the account, created in August 2016, has tweeted fake news about mass shootings, including identifying the Fort Lauderdale airport gunman as alt-right personality Mike Cernovich. It also claimed Republican strategist Rick Wilson attempted to assassinate Donald Trump.

The Daily Caller noted the Daily Beast has been a frequent critic of the “fake news” phenomenon.

It published a story in December titled “Fake News Purveyors and Trump’s Conspiracy Theorists Have Real World Consequences.”

The article warned of “the dangers of fake news, wherein unfounded accusations are shared rapidly on online forums and social media among people unable or unwilling to distinguish between rumor and fact.”

The Daily Beast later corrected its story on the mosque shooting and added an editor’s note:

Editor’s note: This piece originally stated that Reuters reported the names of the assailants. However, the information came from a Reuters parody social-media account. We regret the error and have deleted the information.

Other journalists who fell for the hoax on social media included Yahoo News’ Garance Franke-Ruta, VICE News’ Tamara Khandaker and James Miller, the managing editor of the Interpreter.

‘Too good to check’

Authorities arrested a Moroccan-Canadian, Mohamed el Khadir, along with a white university student, Alexander Bissonnette, Sunday night after the shooting at the Quebec City Islamic Cultural Center during evening prayers. But Khadir is not longer facing charges and is said to be a witness.

Reports cited witnesses saying a gunman shouted “Allahu Akbar,” Arabic for “Allah is the greatest,” before opening fire.

Responding to the reporting of the hoax tweet, Thomas Lifson, editor of the American Thinker, called it “a perfect example of a story that is ‘too good to check,’ as the old (but suddenly relevant) journalists’ joke has it.”

“In the eagerness to confirm a narrative that would indirectly blame President Trump for an outbreak of anti-Islam violence in the wake of his seven-country entry pause, evidently, no one at The Daily Beast noticed,” he wrote.

VIDEOResident 'shocked' over deadly shooting at Quebec City mosque
Robert Spencer, publisher of Jihad Watch, said the “hoax furthered their narrative, so the Daily Beast jumped on it.”

Canada’s Global News reported the tweet was retweeted more than 1,000 times in about one hour. Many Twitter users commented the tweet was obviously false, noting a lot of “fake news” was circulating about the attack.

Meanwhile, Canadian Press reported two of the world’s biggest digital information platforms say they’re getting ready to roll out tools in Canada designed to crack down on so-called “fake news.”

Gainor: ‘Terrifying’ That Media Are Talking Openly About Assassinating Trump

Donald-Trump-Window-Oval-Office-DC-Jan-2017-GettyDrew Angerer/Getty Images
by DAN RIEHL 30 Jan 2017Washington, DC

Dan Gainor, the vice president of Business and Culture at the Media Research Center, joined Breitbart News Daily SiriusXM host Alex Marlow on Monday to discuss some of the media’s most egregious examples of bias.
“The idea that we can now have open discussion of an assassination … this is terrifying for me that we see media people talking about the assassination of the President,” said Gainor, while talking about a recent media incident reported by Breitbart News:

Times columnist and author India Knight has called for the assassination of U.S. President, Donald J. Trump.

During a days-long invective against the newly inaugurated President on Twitter in which Knight called Mr. Trump a “moron,” “mad,” “needy,” and an “arse,” among other things, before telling him to “shut up,” she mused, “The assassination is taking such a long time.

On Monday, Gainor continued, “And this is not the first time. British media people like to talk about assassinating the President.”

Muslim On Live TV: ‘We Have the Right To Kill Anyone Who Does Not Respect Islam’ By Ward Bond | December 31, 2016 The Blaze

These words offer chilling insight into the mind of a radical Islamist: “We will defend our religion with our blood.”

Najmuddin Faraj Ahmad, known commonly as Mullah Krekar, was arrested on Thursday because of what he said in an interview with Norwegian TV station NRK.

“When it comes to what happened in France, naturally I am happy that it happened,” Krekar said, referring to the deadly attack on the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo.

That attack, which left a dozen people dead and was the beginning of further violence, was a response to the magazine’s publishing of cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad — and Krekar said it was justified.

“The cartoonist has become an infidel at war, and therefore it is permissible to kill him,” Krekar said. “As he has trampled on our dignity, our principles and beliefs, so he must die. Anyone who does not respect 30 percent of the world’s population has no right to live.”

He also said he would “send a gift” to anyone who murdered someone for burning the Koran.
