James T. Hodgkinson was charged with battery and aiding damage to a vehicle in April 2006 in St. Clair County, Illinois, the Washington Post reports. The charges were dismissed and no other details about the incident or his criminal background were immediately available.
Hodgkinson, 66, owns a home inspection business in his home state, the newspaper reports.
According to his Facebook page, Hodgkinson “left” that job in December 2016, though it is not clear if he shut down the company or what the circumstances surrounding that were.
He describes his job as being a “home inspector, Mold Air/Quality Tester.”

Lawmakers described a chaotic scene. Rep. Mel Brooks told CNN the shooter was near third base when the gunfire began. He said he heard a loud bam, and there were dozens of shots, possibly hundreds, by the end of the incident, which witnesses say lasted 10 to 15 minutes.

Senator Jeff Flake, of Arizona, told reporters Scalise dragged himself about 15 yards away from second base into right field after he was shot.
“He was laying motionless out there, but we couldn’t get to him until the shooting had stopped,” Flake said.
A staffer for Rep. Roger Williams was then also shot, in the leg, Flake said.
Officers from the Capitol Police were the first to exchange gunfire with the shooter. Katie Fillus, of Alexandria, told the Washington Post she saw an officer draw her gun on the gunman:
Fillus said a police agent pulled out a gun and tried to shoot back. She was screaming, “?‘Drop your weapon!’ And he shot her and she fell on the ground.
“She fell on the ground in front of us, and we were all just trying to lay as flat we could. And I belly crawled, dragging through the mud. I got to the car and I ducked under the car and I laid as close as I could under the car to hide from the person. Then the police seemed to come.”
Congressmen at the scene are crediting the two Capitol Police officers who were there as the detail for Scalise, who is the House Majority Whip and has 24-hour protection because he is in the line of presidential succession.
“We were like sitting ducks,” Senator Rand Paul, of Kentucky, told Fox News. “Without the Capitol Hill police it would have been a massacre.”
Paul told CNN, “When you have no way to defend yourself … the field was essentially a killing field.
“I can tell you that I think with absolute certainty that nobody would have survived without the Capitol Hill Police They saved everybody’s life. Incredibly brave and deserve everyone’s praise, because with this guy, who knows how heavily armed he was, but nobody else had a weapon,” Paul said.
“We had nothing but baseball bats to fight back against a rifle with,” Rep. Mo Brooks told CNN. ” And I tell you, those two security details, those two Capitol police officers, they showed incredible bravery — pistols against a rifle — from a 90- to 120-feet distance. As you know, that kind of distance heavily favors the rifle. ”
Alexandria Police responded in about 3 minutes, Police Chief Michael Brown told reporters. The city officers joined the Capitol Police in trying to take down the gunman.
“Two of our officers engaged in gunfire and returned fire,” Brown said.

The Capitol Police officers wounded in the shooting are expected to survive.
Rep. Steve Scalise was taken from the scene in a helicopter, while other victims were rushed to hospitals by ambulance.
Scalise’s office said in a statement that the Congressman was undergoing surgery Wednesday morning at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. The statement said Scalise spoke to his wife, Jennifer, on the phone, and was in “good spirits” prior to entering surgery.

4. The FBI Is Leading the Investigation Along With the ATF, State & Local Police
FBI Special Agent-in-Charge Tim Slater said it is an “active investigation,” but the community where the shooting occurred is secure. Slater said the FBI has taken the lead because the shooting involves members of Congress.
The Alexandria Police Department, Virginia state agencies and other federal law enforcement, including ATF and the Capitol Police, are involved in the investigation, Slater said.

“The suspect is in custody and not a threat,” police said on Twitter. A heavy police presence was at the scene, which is in the 400 block of East Monroe Street.
Police have not released any information about the shooter’s motive.
Investigators were planning to obtain search warrants for a van that was at the scene of the shooting and for Hodgkinson’s Illinois home.

The shooting is the first involving a member of Congress since then-Arizona Rep. Gabby Giffords was attacked in January 2011 at a “Congress on Your Corner” event in Tucson. Giffords was shot in the head, but survived, while six others were killed and 12 were wounded. The gunman pleaded guilty in 2012 and was sentenced to life in prison without parole.
Giffords, who has become a leading gun control advocate since the shooting, tweeted on Wednesday, “My heart is with my former colleagues, their families & staff, and the US Capitol Police- public servants and heroes today and every day.”

Congress passes long-sought VA accountability bill

Congress approved long-sought legislation Tuesday to make firing employees easier for the Department of Veterans Affairs, part of an effort urged by President Donald Trump to fix a struggling agency serving millions of veterans.
The House cleared the bill, 368-55, replacing an earlier version that Democrats had criticized as overly unfair to workers. The Senate passed the bipartisan legislation by voice vote last week. It will go to Trump later this week for his signature.
The measure comes after a 2014 scandal at the Phoenix VA medical center, where some veterans died while waiting months for appointments. During the presidential campaign, Trump promised to fire VA employees "who let our veterans down," describing the government's second-largest agency and its more than 350,000 employees as "the most corrupt" and "incompetent."
The bill's passage "is GREAT news for veterans!" Trump tweeted Tuesday night. "I look forward to signing it!"

A shooter opened fire on Congressional Republicans practicing for the annual Congressional baseball game at a baseball park in Alexandria, Virginia, Wednesday morning, injuring lawmakers, staff, and law enforcement. It is unclear at this time whether the shooter was killed or is currently in police custody.
In the wake of the shooting, lots of people on the Internet lost their minds. Several progressives even went out of their way to suggest the victims deserved to get shot because they have the wrong views on gun control, or Obamacare, or Donald Trump. On June 5, MSNBC commentator Thomas Roberts suggested Trump is deliberately “provoking” another terrorist attack on the United States so he can “prove himself right” about radical Islamists. Roberts suggested Trump doesn’t care about the consequences of his policies as long as he profits politically. This venomous charge was widely reported.
The allegation here is that by accurately identifying the threat to the West as radical Islam or “Islamism” we will inspire ISIS to new levels of barbarism is not itself new.
What must these pseudo-intellectual Trump haters have thought when on May 21 in Saudi Arabia the President attacked Islamism by name before an audience of the world’s Muslim leaders. He spoke bluntly and forcefully to Saudi King Salman and the assembled heads of 50 Arab and Muslim states. No, Trump said, the common enemy is not “religious extremism,” it is Islamism, and Muslim leaders must join the battle to eradicate it.
And he went on. He told them to “drive out” the radical Islamists and save Islam from radicals who preached death and destruction, not peace and brotherhood. And he was vigorously applauded by the leaders of these Muslim nations who apparently don’t really understand their own religion or culture.
The caldron of bizarre anti-Trump rhetoric is reaching stages of paranoia unparalleled in modern history.
According to the Alinskyite polarizers, Trump is relishing the prospect of expanding his dictatorial powers at the first opportunity. MSNBC Pleads For ISIS To Bomb Trump Tower

In one of the most repulsive monologues we’ve seen about Trump, MSNBC counterterrorism analyst Malcolm Nance just demanded ISIS destroy Trump Tower by blowing it up. Well, that’s how many angry Trump supporters throughout the country read the tweet.
Nance tweeted an image of the President’s Tower in Istanbul, with the text reading, “This is my nominee for first ISIS suicide bombing of a Trump property.”
“Trump Tower Istanbul,” he continued. “After seeing Trump’s congrats to Erdogan for winning his RIGGED election I’m worried our FP [foreign policy] is directed by property.”
Even some supporters of Nance warned that he had taken things too far.
“Be careful. It sounds like you’re encouraging it. They’ll jump all over that,” one Twitter user wrote.
Not surprisingly, Nance quickly took down the post. But the damage was already dealt as far as everyone with common sense concerned.
This is all the proof we need that MSNBC has it out for President Trump. Nance’s commentary is disgusting and dangerous. It also needs to come to an end.
The fact is, if anyone clamored for ISIS to blowup some kind of Obama property on Fox News, they would have been arrested and put in a prison in a remote location.
Why is acceptable to wish harm on the President, his children, his wife, and his business? Oh yeah, it’s because he ran as a Republican.
This is leading to the popular dystopian fantasy, but the problem is, liberals can’t survive without handouts.

Our Founding Fathers knew the importance of those concepts, and they fought and died for them. What would they think of our current culture, when many think of the holiday as just a day off from work, an opportunity to party with family and friends? If the 4th of July no longer evokes patriotic pride, and if, as a nation, we lose the true meaning of the holiday, that is a sign Americans are in danger of losing much more.
There is an alarming trend of one-man rule in recent years. As said by F.H. Buckley in his book, The Once and Future King: The Rise of Crown Government in America: "What we have today is 'Crown government,' the rule of an all-powerful president." It is what founder George Mason called an "elective monarchy," which Mason thought would be worse than the real thing.
It only took 10% of the colonists to spark the call for freedom from the tyranny of English rule and to set in motion the War for Independence. Fast forward to today, when many Americans have no idea what is happening to this nation, having not yet experienced the full effects of the unwise and lawless policies that have been initiated by a president who has usurped his Constitutional authority.
While political changes continue to occur, many of which are decided behind closed doors, it would be interesting to take a survey to discover how many 4th of July partiers are aware of how elected officials are watering down their very freedoms. Actually, it would be interesting to know how many people today even know the reason why we celebrate the 4th of July.
Why is there an apparent lack of patriotism today? One possibility is due to a group of world-wide leaders who have been advocating a "one-world government". They have had an influence on our elected officials and population. They argue that national pride and respect for our nation's sovereignty should not be emphasized. In preaching that opinion, they have gradually tempered some people's enthusiasm for celebrating the birth of our nation as well as engaging in other patriotic practices, such as saluting our flag.
We know that colleges and universities throughout America are filled with liberal professors who also advocate less patriotism. In fact, the goal of many leaders, worldwide and here at home, is for a one-world government. Consider this quote from Robert Mueller, former Assistant Attorney General of the United Nation:
“We must move as quickly as possible to a one-world government, one-world religion, under a one-world leader.”
What about our American leaders, do they share that goal? Yes, many have bought into that agenda and have made similar statements. Unfortunately, many in the main stream media also support that philosophy President Obama alluded to it when he stated:
“All nations must come together to build a stronger global regime”.
Others have been more blatant, such as Henry Kissinger who proclaimed:
“Today America would be outraged if UN troops entered Los Angeles to restore order.Tomorrow they will be grateful. In such a scenario, individual rights will be willingly relinquished for the guarantee of their well-being granted to them by the World Government”.
Kissinger's statement would be fiercely disputed by the brave men and women in 1776. But then, unlike Americans today, our forefathers had a taste of tyranny, and spit it out in disgust. Patriots like Patrick Henry proclaimed: “give me liberty or give me death”. That is the passion many of our forefathers demonstrated.

15 Times Celebrities Envisioned Violence Against Trump and the GOP

Hollywood has issued dire predictions and hysterical warnings about Donald Trump ever since the Republican businessman first announced his candidacy for the presidency in June 2015.
But the level of vitriol and violent rhetoric against now-President Trump has increased substantially in recent weeks, from comedian Kathy Griffin’s now-famous shock “beheading” photograph to Shakespeare in the Park’s not-at-all-subtle “assassination” of Trump on a stage in New York City’s Central Park.
Unfortunately, Griffin and the director of Julius Caesar are not anomalies in Hollywood; actors, writers, directors, and other celebrities have fantasized about using violence against Trump, his supporters, and other GOP lawmakers for at least the past 18 months.
Below are 15 examples of celebrities who have used pointed, violent rhetoric to attack the president and other Republicans.
1. Kathy Griffin ‘Beheads’ Trump in Graphic Photo

The 56-year-old My Life on the D-List star sparked a firestorm (and a U.S. Secret Service investigation) when she was photographed holding the fake, bloodied, decapitated head of the president in an image that critics said was reminiscent of Islamic State propaganda.
Griffin was fired from her job on CNN’s New Year’s Eve broadcasts and saw the cancellation of at least five of her scheduled performances, but remained defiant in an emotional press conference, blaming the backlash on sexism and vowing to continue to “make fun” of the president.
2. Madonna – “I’ve thought a lot about blowing up the White House.”
The pop singer became heated during the anti-Trump Women’s March on Washington in January, where she addressed an audience of thousands.
“Yes, I’m angry. Yes, I’m outraged. Yes, I have thought an awful lot about blowing up the White House, but I know that this won’t change anything,” she told the crowd to roaring applause.
“Are you ready to shake up the world?” Madonna asked. “Welcome to the revolution of love, to the rebellion, to our refusal as women to accept this new age of tyranny, where not just women are in danger but all regionalized people. Where being uniquely different, right now, might truly be considered a crime.”
The singer later said her remarks were taken out of context.
3. Snoop Dogg “Shoots” Trump in the Head in Music Video
The California rapper pointed a gun at the president (dressed to look like a circus clown) and pulled the trigger in a music video for his song “Lavender” earlier this year — though the gun is shown to be a prop gun, with a “Bang!” flag popping out of the barrel.
Still, the imagery was unmistakable.
“I feel like it’s a lot of people making cool records, having fun, partying, but nobody’s dealing with the real issue with this f*cking clown as president, and the sh*t that we dealing with out here, so I wanted to take time out to push pause on a party record and make one of these records for the time being,” the rapper told Billboard.
4. Robert De Niro: “I’d Like to Punch Him in the Face”
The Oscar-winning actor participated in a voter registration PSA during the 2016 presidential race, but was filmed going off on Trump in a monologue during an outtake.
“He’s a punk, he’s a dog, he’s a pig, he’s a con, he’s a bullsh*t artist, a mutt who doesn’t know what he’s talking about, doesn’t do his homework, doesn’t care, thinks he’s gaming society, doesn’t pay his taxes,” the 73-year-old Godfather star said in the clip.
“He’s an embarrassment to this country,” he added. “He talks [about] how he wants to punch people in the face… I’d like to punch him in the face.”
5. Joss Whedon: “I Want a Rhino to F*ck Paul Ryan to Death”
The 52-year-old Avengers director — who released a star-studded PSA in support of Hillary Clinton during the 2016 race — took to Twitter in January to wish an untimely and unfortunate end to House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI).
“Violence solves nothing. I want a rhino to f*ck @SpeakerRyan to death with its horn because it’s FUNNY, not because he’s a #GOPmurderbro,” Whedon tweeted.
Shortly after the November 8 election, the director tweeted that Trump “CANNOT be allowed a term in office.”
6. Shakespeare in the Park Stabs ‘Trump’ to Death in Performance of ‘Julius Caesar’
New York City’s Public Theater staged a production of Julius Caesar during its 2017 summer program, but with a twist on the classic play — Caesar looked just like Donald Trump, with a business suit and tie and a familiar blond hair-do. As happens in the play, the Trump-like Caesar is eventually brutally stabbed to death by his associates in the Senate.
The character’s similarity to Trump sparked outrage, and sponsors Bank of America and Delta Air Lines pulled their funding from the theater. The theater stood by the production.

7. David Simon: “Pick Up a G*ddamn Brick” if Trump Fires Robert Mueller
The creator of the HBO crime drama The Wire reacted to rumors that the president had considered firing the special counsel appointed to oversee the Russia investigation, Robert Mueller, by suggesting that Americans “pick up a goddamn brick” if the president followed through.
“If Donald Trump fires Robert Mueller and is allowed to do so, pick up a goddamn brick. That’s all that’s left to you,” Simon tweeted June 12.
The writer-producer later denied his tweet was an incitement to violence.
8. Mickey Rourke Threatens to Beat Trump with Baseball Bat: “He Can Suck My F*cking D*ck”
The Wrestler actor went on a profanity-filled tirade against Trump in April 2016, when he had not yet won the Republican nomination for president.
“Donald Trump can go f*ck himself,” Rourke told TMZ. “His wife said, ‘Oh, he’s a tough guy.’ He’s not a tough guy, he’s a bully and a b*tch and he can suck my f*cking d*ck. I’ll meet him in a hotel room any motherf*cking day of the week and give him a Louisville slugger. Kiss my motherf*cking a** you b*tch punk c***sucker.”
9. Actress Lea DeLaria Threatens to ‘Take Out’ Republicans and Independents with Baseball Bat after Trump Win
Just a couple days after the November election, the Orange is the New Black star responded to a meme about dealing with violence through music by adding her own suggestion.
“[O]r pick up a baseball bat and take out every f*cking republican and independent I see,” DeLaria wrote, adding the hashtags “#f*cktrump,” “#f*cktheGOP,” #f*ckstraightwhiteamerica” and “#f*ckyourprivilege.”
Some of the cast of the hit Netflix show had previously appeared in a campaign ad for Hillary Clinton.
10. Rapper YG Threatens Trump with “F*ck Donald Trump” Song
Rappers YG and Nipsy Hussle released a song during the 2016 presidential campaign called “F*ck Donald Trump,” with lyrics that contained several threats toward the then-candidate.
“I like white folks, but I don’t like you/All the n*ggas in the hood wanna fight you/Surprised El Chapo ain’t tried to snipe you/Surprised the Nation of Islam ain’t tried to find you/Have a rally out in L.A., we gon’ f*ck it up,” YG raps in the song.
“You vote Trump then you’re prolly on dope/And if your a** do win, you gon’ prolly get smoked,” adds Hussle.
YG later complained that his record label had been contacted by the Secret Service.
11. Marilyn Manson Kills ‘Trump’ in Music Video
In a music video for his song “Say10? released right around Election Day, the shock rocker stands over the lifeless body of a man resembling Donald Trump while ripping pages out of a Bible.
In a flash, a man wearing a suit and a red tie — a not-so-subtle allusion to Trump — is seen decapitated on the ground in a pool of blood.
“It’s about the desperate acts of people who believe something that is preached by an unbeliever,” Manson told the Daily Beast of the explicit visuals in the video.
12. Rapper Everlast Warns Trump: “I Will Punch You in Your F*cking Face”
The rapper and former House of Pain frontman went off on Trump in an interview with Billboard in April 2016.
“F*ck that dude. I’ll smack that f*cker’s comb-over right off his f*cking scalp,” he said. “Like, for real, if I met Donald Trump, I’d punch him in his f*cking face. And that’s not a joke. Even if he did become president — watch out, Donald Trump, because I will punch you in your f*cking face if I ever meet you. Secret Service had better just f*cking be on it. Don’t let me anywhere within a block. This is horrible.”
13. Larry Wilmore Jokes About Suffocating Trump with ‘Pillow They Used to Kill Scalia’
Former late-night host and Daily Show contributor Larry Wilmore joked about suffocating Trump during a segment on his Comedy Central show The Nightly Show.
“Anyway, since we’re talking about bigotry, we have to mention Donald Trump,” Wilmore said. “Sorry everyone, I don’t wont to give him any more oxygen. That’s not a euphemism by the way; I mean it literally. Somebody get me the pillow they used to kill Scalia, and I’ll do it. I’ll do it!”
Wilmore then proceeded to demonstrate what suffocating Trump to death might look like, before adding: “I could get in trouble for that, actually!”
14. Stephen Colbert’s Late Show Puts Stephen Miller’s Head on a Spike
In February, Colbert’s Late Show on CBS featured a segment that depicted Trump aide Stephen Miller being attacked in different scenes from cable TV shows.
The segment included Miller being beaten by The Walking Dead‘s Negan and his spiked bat, and ended with the Trump aide’s head superimposed onto a spike in a parody of HBO’s Game of Thrones.
Colbert has upped his anti-Trump rhetoric since January, and it has done wonders for his ratings. The late-night host came under fire in May when he said during his show that Trump’s mouth is only good for being Vladimir Putin’s “c*ck holster.”
15. Sarah Silverman Suggests Military Could Help Overthrow Trump
In a tweet in February, the comedian and vocal leftist activist suggested the U.S. military could join the anti-Trump “resistance” and help overthrow the president.
“WAKE UP & JOIN THE RESISTANCE. ONCE THE MILITARY IS W US FASCISTS GET OVERTHROWN. MAD KING & HIS HANDLERS GO BYE BYE,” Silverman tweeted.

If you need proof of the contempt the democrats have for blacks, just look at the civil rights act of 1964, it was democrats who filibustered for 60 working days to stop it, it took republicans to break the filibuster. Then when it went to the Senate, it was stalled in the rules committee by who? the democrat chairman of the committee. Strum Thurman and Byrd both power democrats opposed the bill and it took republicans to go along democrats from the north and I mean north to agree to one reading of the bill and force it out of committee, republicans. But the biggest farce was when President Johnson signed it he said" this will have blacks voting democrat for 100 years". If it was up to democrats, the civil rights act would have died in committee, but thanks to republicans who vote 80% supporting the bill it would've taken maybe 20 more years to get it through. Democrats have been and for now shown nothing but contempt for the minorities, kept them on the modern plantations better known as the inter-cities, sadly minorities think handouts are fine but don't realise it's becoming a way of life. Slavery is alive and well, as far as democrats are concerned, the one thing that gives me hope, more minorities are finding a way out of the cycle, and the independence that comes with working for yourself. The down side, alot of minority leader's instead of leading the minorities out of this national disgrace, they profit from it. I can only hope that someday common sense will prevail and minorities will give the republicans a chance to help them be more. I believe the dream is still out there, we just have to remind people of what the dream was and not the nightmare it's become.....hb

Kellyanne Conway appeared on Fox & Friends Friday morning, and was quick to link media coverage of President Donald Trump to the shooting at a House GOP baseball practice that wounded Rep. Steve Scalise and four others.
Conway started by saying she looked back at TV coverage of Trump just before news broke of the shooting:
“I did a clever thing and I went back and looked at exactly what was being discussed on all the TV shows except yours at 7:09 a.m. on Wednesday when this happened,” she said.
“And it’s a really curious exercise because as Steve Scalise was fighting for his life and crawling into right field, in a trail of blood, you should go back and see what people were saying about the president and the Republicans at that very moment.”
After delivering those comments — with the incendiary rhetoric dialed up to 11 — Conway noted that since the tragedy there has been some “introspection, quieter more muted voices toning down the rhetoric.”
“But look at Twitter,” Conway said, gearing back up. “If I were shot and killed tomorrow half of Twitter would explode in applause and excitement.”
“This is the world we live in now,” she added.
“It’s terrible. Because, again, it’s one thing to say I disagree with you on healthcare repeal, or on taxes, or on your plan for national security, but you can’t attack people personally in a way, and think that tragedies like this won’t happen.”

By now, many people would have already forgotten about the infamous tarmac meeting between Hillary Clinton and then Attorney General Loretta Lynch; a conversation that they claimed was purely about grandchildren and golf. But not the folks at Judicial Watch, who have doggedly filed FOIA requests regarding the Clinton-Lynch communications. Turns out that because all conversations on government planes are recorded, the NSA does in fact have a record of said conversation. But they won’t release it.
Right Wing News looks at the NSA’s justification in not releasing the tape of the Clinton-Lynch conversation on the grounds of ‘national security’. Of course, this begs the question, if the conversation was purely about golf and grandchildren, how is national security in any way, shape, or form involved? Too often in this country, our liberties have been steadily encroached upon all in the name of ‘national security’. And in this case, that justification is also being used to cover up the truth.
