Which brings me to the question: Are these experiences unique to our culture? Are the perceptions of going to heaven or hell because of our Western/ Christian belief or is it universal? Do other cultures who don't believe in the Christian religion experience heaven or hell in near death experiences, i.e., NDEs. Or does our subconcious somehow play a part in it?

I am referring to people who have died, witness heaven and hell and came back changed and spending their time witnessing for the rest of their lives of what they saw. I don't know why God uses this people to take a glimplse of eternity, all i know is God is keeping His promises to those who will truly come to know Him. That God will have rewards to those people who sacrificially following His leading in their lives. Satan is a very sneaky creature, he will try to push us away from the truth of God's Word until we'r convinced that even God himself doesn't exist. It's entirely up to our decision if we will believe God or not. Our spiritual decisions in life will dictate our spiritual destiny. He will continue to pursue His unconditional love to us whether we like or not. It's just the way He is. We cannot argue His nature, a loving and a lovesick father who longs for our fellowship. I've had two near death experiences and am a member of an group of more than 100 around Aus who have had the same experience. What they relate equates to my own experience, but all have personal aspects and understandings. We get those who claim they have them and are religious. But when you question them about it you always find, either they made it up, or didn't understand what was happening, it was the effects of the anaesthetics or drugs used, so assumed it was a religious experience. They usually leave when they realise no one is taking any notice of them. For me, it was the final nail in the coffin for religion and my break from the church as my experiences showed me an understanding which is credible, reasonable and possible from a scientific aspect. Do I believe it to be the truth, no, but I do see it as a real awakening to possibilities and new understandings of how we and our minds operate. I certainly can't prove what I experienced, nor would I and neither can the others I know. All of them don't preach about it, nor tell others it was real. It's taught me to see the religious for what they are, empty heads of delusion. What can we ask for God, He promises peace, wisdom, unconditional love that no one can understand except God himself, heavenly rewards, and more. Bible is full of God's promises that we can rely on. Your right the bible is full of gods promises, his vengeance, murder, genocide, slaughter and suppression, they are all god's promises, but not one bit of good has the world seen from god except within the minds of the unevolved..

I believe in the Bible and people who experiences NDE's doesn't even know why they were chosen to take a glimpse of eternity. And why is that, because God uses every means to reach out to people but we cannot understand God's ways because our mind are limited compare to His. We can play people but we cannot play God. He knows what's going to happen next seconds, minutes of our lives. It is easy for us to say that we are successful without God's help, we don't realize that He was there all the time. The meaning of life is life, you can't find its meaning within books of fallacy which have created 3500 years of religious war, carried out by the varying factions of yahweh the god of war, each fighting each other to prove whose way of believing in the same god is right. Your belief is even stupid enough to want to fight within each faction, jews fighting jews, christians fighting christians, muslims fighting muslims. It gets even more bizarre when you gang up on one faction, the change sides and fight who you were supporting. Definitely the signs of sanity and caring people. kellytoo Moses Lake, WA age: 57 online now!	I perceive some are living in hell while on earth. It's a perception of mind and emotions. Being an avid dream traveler, I once dreamed of walking into a wall of fog. The fog turned into a giant dark hole, a void. The void was similar to the one in the movie, What Dreams May Come. It was a pit of depression and total despair, a hell. I had to fight hard to climb back out of the void and vowed to never enter one of those again, via dream state. And that is all I know about hell, not gonna go there again.
