But when I started reading the Bible closely and discovering things that no one within the churches I was a part of wanted to talk about, I began to suspect something was wrong Don't even try God and push your limit. You are not afraid of God don't you. Look at Pharoah, he gave up when God sent him 10 plagues. Maybe you are asking for your 10 plagues as well. Pharoah is a prideful and stubborn person. See how God humbles Him because He does not want to obey God by freeing the Israelites in his hands so that this people can worship Him and led them to the promise land. If the Bible is wrong, why is it that people keeps on reading them and people are buying them. You are deceived in your own belief. As I've said, it's either you're on the devil side or on God's side. Which side are you. Maybe you are on your own side which is a very dangerous place to consider. You are walking on this earth using your own effort and wisdom. Have you not consider that even your very life, God owns it. Isn't that enough to prove that God in the Bible prove to us that we are brethed by God. The reason that I am saying this to you too over and over again. Because you cannot comprehend the meaning of the Bible and its God. And I cannot blame you, because if the Spirit of God is in you, He is going to reveal to you the truth and you will accept that gladly even without people's insights. Because the Word of God is powerful and is living. It is inspired by God. It's profitble for teaching, for reproof, for rebuke so that every man will be prepared to do good works. And from your comments and responses, you're like a child wondering where to go. Lost in the bush and don't know which way to go. You are quoting the Bible and even starting discussions, but you give up. Why is that, because once a person became a Christian, he can only answer other people's questions with the help of God and the Holy Spirit who will teach and reveal the truth about God. You can't really rely on yourself, because God's Word is living, it is not dead. It is living because it's true. It's going to manifest in your life if you believe in it. elise7

If you are seriously and honestly seeking the Truth then go back and read the posts on Ezra and Nehemiah. I hope Truth matters that much to you What have you learned about Nehemiah and Ezrah. Which part is condoning murders,slavery etc. And what have you learned about God himself during this events in the Isrealites lives. And what you have learned that you can apply to your life?

Elise, I apologize if I inadvertantly caused you to think that these murders, human sacrifices, rapes, etc. were found in the books of Ezra and Nehemiah. Examples of these atrocities are found throughout the old testament. The "Truth" that I was pointing out in the books of Ezra and Nehemiah has to do with the historical discrepancies between these two supposedly inspired accounts. Numbers chapter 31 is a chapter that condones the murder of children, slavery, human sacrifice, etc. for one. Lastrad

I have learned that the God of the Hebrews was a bloody and barbaric God who was able to convince the Israelites that murder of children was justifiable if done as a result of a command from God.. I learned that slavery was acceptable to the god of the Bible as long as it was his people who were enslaving someone else. I learned that the God of the Bible was a God of many double standards. I learned that the God of the OT and NT was a respector of persons, even though the Bible taught to do otherwise. One important thing that I have learned that I can apply to my life is that I don't want to be like the absurd, cruel and barbaric God of the OT is portrayed. A god that brainwashes his followers to believe that his love is unconditional, when in fact his love is dependent on the fulfilment of many conditions. Lastrad

I want to ask you a question: if you don't see the Bible is right in all its contents, then why are you starting a thread with a Bible Study topic and then criticize the Bible itself. It's contradictory to what you are saying here. If you have doubts about the Bible as the Word of God, why keep on using them as a reference to your Bible Study? Believing half-heartedly in the Bible is very dangerous. During the time of Noah, God gave the people the chance to repent but what they did is they mocked Noah of building such big ark. The rain came and people who mocked him die in the flood. And when they refuse, God sent a rain and flood which brought them to death. That's the economy of God, if you don't obey there are consequences. Even I myself if i don't obey God, i noticed that i always reap my disobedience. Obedience is the key. And the thing too, if God can kill people, he can create mankind again. He is the Creator and He is infinite, He doesn't have any ending like us human beings. He is forever and He is Sovereign. God did not ask us to be like Him in the Old Testament. We don't even know what kind of life these people have in the Old Testament. I am sure it is totally different from our way of life right now. Do you see how people in the Old Testament response when God asked Adam and Eve to not to eat the tree of knowledge. Instead, they follow the advise of satan (snake) rather than obeying God. I am pretty sure that God was really hurt that time. God has more expectations on human being because we are made in His image. His lowest forms of creations are demons, satan and his angels. And too, that time people were so stubborn and God cannot help himself but to show his condemnation for a sin by destroying them, like in Sodom and Gommorrah. Now i fully understood why God made such judgment. Look nowadays, gays and lesbians are spreading sexual diseases beyond our imagination. The sin of one person truly affects all of us. It will not only affect our own judgement but the entire world is affected by it. God is showing and exercising His being a just God and a merciful God. And too, there are always remnants left after God destroy those disobedient Isrealites right because God showed them kindness and mercy. elise7

frombre New South Wales Australia age: 55	I thought this forum was about people who had gone to heaven and hell and come back. All I can see is much arguing and condemnation. At least Elise has some evidence from people who say they have been there and been bought back, as a witness to others. I have not seen one shred of proof to the contrary from all those who are attacking her and her belief. God doesn't need to justify himself to anyone and he won't. The truth of it all will be revealed in due time and all will have to live with their choices. Just the fact, there is good and evil on the earth and that the Holy Bible explains how and why it came to be here, should be enough proof of the existence of God. Some people will not believe, they have their own free will, just as everyone else does. Everyone is peddling their own beliefs in this forum and trying to demand that others agree with them, that is Christians and non Christians alike. Never the twain shall meet, so it is much better for all concerned, if you agree to disagree and not let it worry you. Elise, I admire your courage and determination, however I would like you to remember about casting your pearls and where you cast them. God is not mocked, people might survive with it for a time, but as we sow, so shall we reap. This Natural law has been set up since the beginning of creation, no person on earth can change it, as much as he might try to, Pigs will still be born as pigs and wolves will still be born as wolves, only God can change that.
