Hey Lawdawg does'nt it sound like the present US of A? I think we're on the brink of something and it aint good. Too much bread and circuses incompetant politicans and barberians at the gate. On a lighter note you must be very proud of your anrhropoligist
son. How cool!

yes, Hiker, I am very proud of him...he's a cool kid!
One of my eclectic interests is ancient cultures and history....including Roman orgies!

Okkay...Back to the universe.
I have my own theory. It is about thinking outside the box.
I am sure you mensa people can imagine an atom.
Let's say oxigen.(hope I don't have to post pictures)
Now take one solar system and put them side by side.
Surprise! The only difference is the size and that is a big one (10 to the 30+)
Other than that they are extremely similar.
Slight differences might be the result of our distorted perception of both.
As far as I know the only way to see an atom is by bombarding it with electrons.I might be wrong on this one since it is hardly my field of expertise.
Comments and questions are welcome but I suggest you read my post several times before you dismiss the theory.

You must have read The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire. My ancestors were most likely slaves there. Can you help me with a brief seeking reparations?

tigerz - Are you suggesting that the solar systems are like atoms and are neither expanding or contracting but are perfectly balanced and therefore the universe is balanced and is neither expanding or contracting?

We might as well live in the middle of a violent explosion because the 10 to the 30 factor applies to time too.

It has become the basis of some experiments with matter that are pretty interesting.
